Full marks to the system that meant tickets were sold block by block, which meant I was allocated two tickets not sat together. Wouldn't have been such a major problem but my +1 is my 7 year old, not sure he'd be keen on sitting on his own. Fortunately our very helpful ticket office have reallocated and I can relax. There must be a better way to sell the tickets other than block by block though?

I agree, I thought he did OK & was at least looking to provide a spark. What didn't help him was everyone running away from him when he got the ball in any space which gave him no options whatsoever. The lack of passing options whenever he had the ball was frightening.

Good post. One of my first thoughts post 9/8 was Lambert, mainly to wind up a Norwich supporting mate. But I'd rather Lambert than a Houllier/Curbishley/Sven.

General - long time viewer, occasional poster here. Absolutely well said above. I was proud to be a Villa supporter on Saturday, the noise in the 2nd half from our end was deafening & great fun to be involved in. Most level headed fans will be as philosophical as yourself in that the team played as well as Chelsea allowed them to play. We had the better of the 1st half & but for a couple of key decisions, we might have had enough to finish the job. The matter of these referreeing decisions is a debate for another thread as it is a problem that 'smaller' clubs such as ourselves are having to contend with far too often. Anyway I digress, I just wanted to post to say your comment above is the most sensible thing I've read on here since Saturday. Well said & I wish you good health. A big thank you to the team, Martin, Randy & yourself for allowing us to taste the dream this year. Hopefully it's the start of something bigger. & I still believe this season is far from over.

Completely agree. Hughton's not glamorous but he's proved a lot of people wrong by taking them up. Mickey Quinn on Talkshite didn't want to deny that Hughton's just keeping the job warm for Shearer for when they go up. "I'd love it" if that happened cos Hughton will take them mid table next year. Under Shearer the shambles will return & they'll go down.
