It was against the worst team in the league so I'm not getting carried away too much...but they DID end our home record and i feared they would play the same way and defend en masse so it was nice to see such a good victory. Dropped the missus off at digbeth coach station early sun morning. What an effing ball ache to get there ! I don't know the names of the roads but I used to take a road downhill past the new law courts, under a bridge and end up with selfridges on my right, with the multi storey car park on the left. Drive ahead, road bends to left past the proppa brummies drinking Palace of bull ring tavern and head down into digbeth itself. I can't describe too accurately but I couldn't go that far so I ended up somehow in a double bus lane to head down in to digbeth, passing Moor St Station on the left. Can't filter right across the dual carriageway to the coach station now due to all the roadworks so parked up in a moody side road on the opposite side next to a sex shop and massage suite which was still going at 7am ! I realise as a dvb my visits to town are rare so I was out of touch with routes and the area in general but effing hell what a pain it was. Am due to pick her up at 8pm on a Friday night.....sod that, she can get a black cab home.

A common thing with our american friends. A mate of mine - a proppa new yorker (mate !) said that it was difficult for them to differentiate at times if they weren't familiar with the often aussie twang/nasal sound. Then I said that it was the same for a lot of us with canadian and (some) american accents - he was almost horrified and wouldn't have it !

I wouldn't sign Smith Rowe if for no other reason than he sounds like a complete word removed with this street, road man accent so many of that generation and younger think it cool.

Another vote for never playing them ever again. Away, then we'd run the usual risk of ambush, flying missiles inside and outside the sty. Home, they would take great pleasure in trashing the toilet blocks etc and generally being a menace especially to any of our scarfers, women and kids walking up to the ground. As others have said we would be in a no win situation. Batter them on the day 8-0 and the great unwashed will bleat about gaps in wealth, our spawniness etc. Win 1-0 and we'd never hear the end of it.......only 1-0 - even when winning the game by either score gives the same prize of a next round tie. Don't get me wrong.....we have our own bonehead fans who enjoy a ruck with any other like minded word removed.....it's just that I see them akin to being grubby peasants desperate for crumbs from our table, but who would never admit to wanting to being in our position.....oh no......they are proppa, PROPPA working class fans mate who would keep it real and would refuse any association with the premier league circus and all the plastic, wannabe shallow fans and all that comes with it.
