  1. In related travel news - I think I have 3k miles just over what the minimum Delta mileage requirements are for a flight to LHR. Hope they don't change in the next 48hrs.
  2. Got to imagine that there will be a large 're-sale' due to the amount that the FA distribute. Thousands of northern FA cronies with zero interest in Villa v Arsenal will try and flog em for cash.
  3. I'm going to be flying in from Ohio, USA. I went to 4 games when I was home at Xmas (inc. FA Cup v Blackpool) but I'm presuming it won't be enough. Consider me in for box if ppl are interested. Also as I'm booking flights today (I'll watch it in the Green Man if I have to!) if anybody here knows that they are eligible for a ticket but can't make the game then I will be eternally grateful. I grew up going home & away, went to the cup final in 2000 and Hamburg away when we were in Europe. You'll be helping a great cause
  4. We are now down. Today's game is a perfect example, can't defend, can't take chances. Was NEVER a penalty but the comical defending before it was more at place in a circus.
  5. For once I actually like the look of our squad! I have complete faith in Lambert and what he wants to do. HUNGRY, YOUNG AND TALENTED players all who have something to prove. Players who will pull on the shirt and go out and give 100% for the club. Can we add some quality to that down the road, maybe. But right now I believe these are the players we need. We have the 'quality' 'experienced' Ireland and Zog... look how great they've done. Will we win every game and challenge for Europe? No, but I thin the long term direction is the right philosophy and I have faith the improvement will come and the results will eventually reflect this.
  6. I board a plane at 10am tomorrow and won't be back till Xmas! I have £20 on it! Cone on randy get it done!
  7. YIPPEEEEEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY
  8. A QPR team with Cisse who's scored 11 in 11!! hell of a record for a guy who's only played 6 games Hahaha, I was just discussing a comparison of the Cisse's fortunes and we were saying That obviously Papiss has been great but I was trying to suggest that if Dribble hadn't gotten two red cards he could have got close to that, he's got 4 in 6 and has that instinct. Anyway the point is he could 'do a Tevez' at City so....
  9. A QPR team with Cisse who's scored 11 in 11!!
  10. Summer: Pre season: Mid Season: Now: :| :| :| :? :? :?
  11. Having a look at Villa odds (wanted to check relegation ones) and next Villa manager odds have Martinez 2/1 and 5/4 in places!! Seems very very short that, Lambert is at 8s... Also in anticipation of 1000 pages.. hopefully the players will be sending this
  12. Has he balls. We were never going to get anything today but even so everything about the performance, attitude and his post match comments are disgraceful.
  13. Heroes and Villians, the LATEST issue, still only a pound!!
  14. The NFL runs a lot differently than the Premier League. Pretty much every club runs at a profit. The main reason is that a lot of the money is collected centrally by the NFL (TV deals, NFL merchandise etc) and distributed evenly. So to run an example, obviously Man United sell shit loads more licensed merchandise than say Wigan. But if we used the NFL model then Wigan would get the same % of that money as every other club in the league including United. Also with salary caps and the draft system, teams are much more 'competitive' and it creates the notion that any team can win on 'any given sunday'. Slightly off track there but to answer your question, the Browns is probably profitable (in fact it different will be in terms of re-sale value) but that is largely due to the centralisation of the NFL and not the management per say of Lerner. (Obviously some clubs are worth more than others based on support e.g Cowboys, location e.g Jets/Giants, stadium, famous players, etc etc)
  15. Has it sold out yet? I picked 3 up off the online site last night.
  16. Bent was absolutely the missing piece in MON's squad. Bent, Agbonlahor, Milner, Young, Downing would have gotten us CL no doubt in my mind.
  17. The biggest revenue in sport is naming rights for stadiums. In the NFL all stadium have huge huge deals that pretty much cover a big proportion of building new stadiums. It's beginning to happen over here too, the deals for the Emarites and Etihad stadiums are massive. It's a hard toss up between tradition and then being offered say £300m for 10years, whilst not looking like **** idiots (hello Sportsdirect @ St. James Park).
  18. He only got his DL recently, they made a deal out of in on the official site!
  19. General, I am not gonna sit here and scream and shout over the appointment of the man who got our arch rivals relegated twice, if he's the right man for the job the great lets have him at our club instead of theirs! HOWEVER, my job (stats at games) took me to many games in the Midlands over the last few years including (unfortunately) a few trips to the sty (god job the money is good). 'Big Eck' plays the most horrific, turgid style of football you can imagine, completely unambitious, grinding, defensive, cautious football you could imagine. You mention the resources, I believe he spent over £40m on players and pretty much built the team. They have been relegated TWICE, and the league cup win(home ties against Brentford, MK Dons and Rochdale) is hardly impressive. This appointment will be a dark day for Aston Villa, and I'm afraid I will be ashamed to think Randy and the rest of you would even consider this type of appointment.
  20. Relegated twice, lowest goals scored, terrible TERRIBLE football, horrendous signings, and that's all BEFORE the fact he managed SHA. Disgraceful if he gets it.
  21. Yeah if we're severing ties with Nike as it seems, I'd go Puma.
