Needs to do better than Newcastle. We were outplayed and tactically they stretched Kamara/Luiz with their 3 central players. Kamara had a particularly off day after a good preseason.

Got a feeling Acuna is coming in to cover left mid and left back. We don't have a lot of wide midfield options who are as solid as Acuna after you get past McGinn/JJ

He can finish but other than that he is currently a liability. Falls over or gives the ball away far too often and provides very little.

Under all of our recent managers since we wen't down Archer would stay and get significant minutes to see what he had at this level. With Emery it is a different story - he knows what he is looking at and has the track record to prove it. Seems to me Emery wants to see more from Archers development while recognising he probably won't get the game time to do so here. He needs more time.

feels quite surreal to be in a position whereby if they are indeed in instanbul and the deal doesnt get worked out i would be confident that it wasn't due to some level of incompetence but actually because the deal isn't worth doing

Archer is in the same boat as AJ. Too good for the championship but will struggle for quality minutes behind Watkins etc Like AJ a move to the premier league with a buyback is optimal. Needs time at this level.

Archer is going for similar playing reasons as Ings did. A good player just doesn't work well enough with how Emery wants things done i suspect.

Well he did. In defence he was the left of a back four and slid across to a back three with cash pushing up when in possession.

i know for a fact we have spoken to Ox - back at the start of the transfer window. i assumed we have done so with a lot of potential signings that don't come to fruition

Different situation. The equivalent would be to fill a whole league with top talent which they are not going to be able to do. Golf is easy far easier to move than football.

You are making blanket statements that don't take into account previous attempts to "buy a league" and are ignoring the fact that most players that have gone to Saudi are not in their prime. Some will go for the money but most won't because they have footballing aspirations. For the record i think the Saudi interest in Diaby is almost all hot air

I think he is second choice to felix/chiesa and it has been leaked to force someones hand or maybe i have been watching too much succession
