We are out of form and playing badly - that much is obvious. We don't need reminding.

Out of form my lorddddd out of form. Players aren't doing their individual jobs very well right now outside of a few of them. So much sloppy passing, hesitancy and just straight naivety is what is costing us. They are playing too tentative or too relaxed and nothing in between.

Not only that but highlighted as having a significant role in the team which the carrot to go with the stick.

Emery said it himself. So did the last remaining relatively trustable journos around. This is not scaremongering - clubs are getting fine and docked points. Glad Ramsey aint off though. Huge player for us.

I wasn't suggested we are in a worse position than anyone else. We are doing well. But this is the new reality for right now as the next 6 to 12 months shakes out. Clubs are nervous and are being quite cautious.

The situation between now and then has changed and i don't quite get how you don't understand that. We may not have thought we needed a player at all in the summer but have come to realise now that we do. Weird point to get all worked up over IMO.

Glad to see Jacob looks likely to be hanging around. Those of you trying to play this all off as journalists making things up are in for a rude shock over the next 12 months. There is a reason there haven't been significant signings this window.

Don't agree. The sale on a homegrown player far exceeds anything we would fetch for those players other than possibly McGinn. There is a reason we sold so much youth this last summer instead of developing them here.

Ornstein is one of journalistic integrity or at least to a level where its worth considering he is being truthful. I believe this. Lots of smoke the last month about it.

There is no getting around the fact that this would be a painful sale. Don't care about arguments regarding his fit in the team or injuries. It would absolutely suck to see him leave. This is FFP right now and it sucks.

I suspect what Rogers does best is what Duran/Diaby haven't quite been effective at doing just yet next to Watkins. His does very well structurally + link up play. These traits bode well for playing other positions too (LM/RM). Helps that he is also quite creative.

Still can't work out how he fits in. I think he needs to be receiving the ball closer to goal.

We are certainly in a slump IMO. We should be happy too that this is what a slump now looks like rather than what we have become accustomed to. We are still a functioning unit able to get results.

Yeah which itself is just conjecture and you replied claiming he should get along with the other spanish speakers. I have questioned his attitude myself earlier in this thread. He is a 20 year old and on some level I also like the confidence he has in himself - I think this rubs people the wrong way and tall poppy syndrome sets in. But continually whinging about what amounts to conjecture regarding a kid who has been at the club for a year is just a bit sad.

Bunch of cry babies. Also this idea that Jhon should get along with the other spanish speaking players is absolute gobshite. You have no idea what kind of person he is and how he is settling in / feeling about his role in the squad. Just because they speak the same language in no way means they are friends. Following that logic we should all just get along on here too which we all know is impossible.

We are not in form as we were when we beat City and Arsenal and its plain to see. The injuries do not help. However, if this is what out of form looks like - then we really have come such a long way.

Look at Newcastle. It doesn't guarantee anything. We need sustained improvement and success. CL would be that and be amazing (and I would argue the Europa League would be a major success too). However, it (CL) isn't worth getting desperate and throwing big cash around in January and setting ourselves back on growth/FFP. I do think if a long term target suddenly became available we would pounce (Nico Williams ilk).
