What VillaCas says makes sense. Lambert strikes me as a man who plans thoroughly. He probably does have a number of targets for each position. Its just a shame that we cant get everyone at the top of the list.

Not that versed on where Delph played for Leeds. I saw him play for them twice and he was in a midfield three at the top of it. I.e. AM. I thought he looked quite good at LB under Houllier.

Yeah Clark and Baker are both talented but not together. A bit like Cahill and Ridgewell. Except Cahill was really really good and Ridgewell was piss poor to average.

Hendrie for all his faults scored some good goals for us and was one of our most creative players. Delph has done nothing. I am running out of patience with him. Champ player at best. Shame because he looked brilliant when he first came here.

For all the money Lerner has spent at Villa he has completley negated it with his mis-management. A poor decision maker who seems to mess up everything he does.

I remember him playing AM. From what Im told Stephens is prem league quality. However I wouldnt pin our hopes on him. VillaCas - Stephens is/was very much a top target for Lambert. However you may be right. Maybe we want someone else and if we cant get them then we will come back to Stephens. One thing is for sure if we cant spend the reported £2.5m on DS then we have no hope of staying up or buying anyone decent. With fees I have no idea what the actual fee/.wages are. Only DS and his agent and people from our side will know that. I do know that the tug of war over fees escalated quickly in the summer and their chairman wanted a ludicrous fee for him.

So what is that in terms of wages to revenue ratio....I imagine Hutton and Given will leave too.

Somethings happend to delay the Stephens transfer. I am worried that Lerner is pulling the funding.

I am very optimistic usually but I think we are doomed unless Lerner sanctions some deals.

AS much as I dont rate Bannan, I would play him with Westwood against Southampton. They seem to have an understanding and Westwood does alot of the work which leaves Bannan free to play his hollywood balls. If he plays at least 10 then he might get one right and we might score.

More optimistic with Westwood Vlaar and Holman back.

This is ridicolous. The level of incomptency from Lerner and Co is astounding. Do they not know what will happen to this club should we get relegated. Destined to go down if Lambert isnt backed to get his top targets.

Almost as important as having Vlaar back. This guy is massively important for our team. He protects the back four quite well in the absence of a proper defensive midfielder and is calm with the ball. Also not sure if people have noticed but he is a leader for us. He is always shouting and organising. I know people say he hasnt had a massive impact on us, but I think he has as he is one of 6 players who are massively important for us. Also - I thought he was out for 3 months?

My tv came yesterday. Managed to get John Lewis to price match the Richer Sounds deal and obvs got the 5 year guarantee thrown in. Really is a cracking tv. For an LED TV the blacks are great. Hooked up the PS3 and tested out a few games. It was brilliant. Plenty of features too. I havent tested out the 3d yet but will let you know my findings. Think I am going to go on the official thread on avforums.com and see if I can find out the perfect settings for my PS3 and 3D movies.

I just get a sense that the guy does not give a shit about Villa and can't wait to be out of here. If his wages coming off the books means that Lambert can sign a new ST and DM then I would be happy to see him leave.
