Well actually thats not what he thinks at all. He knows that Villa are a massive team. Its what he keeps hearing from his agent and all the players/manager around him. That right now, a move may not be the best thing for him given Villa's situation. I am not saying if we agreed a fee that he wouldnt come. Just that from the start of the window and the summer when he couldnt wait to come, he is now getting lots of people (people he listens to) not to do it yet. Like I said I think he will come in the summers. It all stems to my point about the expectation on him to save our season and the fact that he is another lower league player will put players off. In fact another player who has been linked with us this summer from the Champs has said a similar thing. Not that he would be averse to a move but the fact there is so much pressure on Villa to stay up and there has been so much scruitny and criticism labelled at PL and the team for not being experienced enough. Players worry about these things and they talk about it with each other too. Its not a good thing at all.

QPR are in big danger beacuse Remy alone wont save them. Their wages to turnover ratio is ridic. Newcastle have surely bought well enough to stave off relegation. With Cabaye and Ben Arfa to come back they will have a very good team again. WRT to PL I feel for him in some respects as I think he has been hung out to dry a bit by RL. Also I think he could more. I know we have some underperformers in the team but if he was as good as we think he is then he would've got more out of them than what he currently has. I am hoping that he actually does go back to basics from now on in. Lets concentrate on keeping it tight ala McLeish and I am sure Weimann and Benteke can score us a few goals .

I've seen a few people say that DS has turned us down based on what I wrote yesterday. I didnt mean that. Like I said no fee agreed so no decision to make. But I was told if there was a decision to make, our current plight has changed things. Unless we show a bit of ambition. Also the fact that so much pressure would be on DS to save our season when lets face it he wouldnt do that. He is a good player and would work well alongside Westwood imo. However, to pin your hopes on him would be detrimental to the team and him. I can still see a move happening in the near future. Probably summer. Lambert really likes him.

One thing to add on DS. Was told that no play from champs or below will want to come to villa because of pressure of performing straight away. Ie lambert has been getting abuse for signing lower league players and if he signs another then the pressure is on to perform. If he doesn't perform then both Manager and Player are scrutinised heavily. Not how you want to start your AVFC career.

So have an update on Stephens. All I have to say it's a sad state of affairs when a championship player is being heavily advised by agents/players not to come to us because of our situation. Not only threat of relegation but the perceived lack of ambition to secure our prem league survival. Although he may join in the summer even if we got relegated. As it was put to me he would rather play for a big fish in a small pond than a fish that's slowly dying. Basically if we get relegated as long as we show ambition to come back up he would still move. Anyways it doesn't matter because the two clubs can't even agree a fee so there is no decision to make for him.

No it isnt but its **** disgraceful that clubs around us are securing their premership futures by signing quality whereas we, you know the team who are low of confidence and in terrible form, are not doing anything. Its a **** disgrace and I am so angry with Lerner. Protests need to happen and I dont care what anyone says. As much as I back Lambert, I dont think you can blame some of the fans for the way they are being. Alot of the same people were totally behind Lambert and the team. Bent, Ireland, Gabby, Dunne, Given, Petrov, Warnock, Hutton, N'Zogbia All of the above probably earn £40k and above. In some cases quite a bit more. Only N'Zogbia and Gabby have really played regular football under PL this season (Obv Petrov would've been if things were different). Shows you how much waste there is in the squad.

Well if Lerner is gonna stick with him and provide no funds then we have to get behind him. Its all or nothing. We can waste time pelting him but it wont do no good if Lerner will stick with him even if we get relegated. Lambert seems to be up against it.
