In what sense is the North Stand redevelopment under review? Haven’t Villa just done their review, resulting in the amended planning application?

All this is true. Perhaps what we need now is to embrace more of our history but in a way which shows that it is continuing and being built on. Going on about certain things ends up trivialising it. Even as a history buff I get fed up of reading references in the programme to 1957 and 1982, as if they are the only exciting things which have ever happened. My other pet hate is constantly telling us how many times we’ve won a particular cup every time tickets go on sale!

Were you alive in 1992/93 and 1999/2000?. In both season older away kits with older badges were used. The white Umbro one in 1992/93 and the blue/green thing in 1999/2000.

The slight disappointment is that the owners are spending all this money on Villa Park and the exterior of the Trinity will still look worse than my local Dunelm. I’m not suggesting we dress the thing in gables but get rid of some rusting metal.

Some subtle changes to the lower level join between the North Stand and the Trinity Road Stand it appears.

What an utterly daft question. Have you spoken to the manager before signing for him! If I was in charge of this club, there would be no media and “communications” people still in their jobs!

No, they changed the lion in some literature and in the programme. It looked more serpent-like. Then the scroll-less shield appeared with yet another lion in the summer of 1999.

If I’m thinking “all time definitive” Villa badge, then even a round badge obsessive like me thinks the 1957 shield shape is the one. It is strong and distinctive. Never mind Everton, who are they? Eh? Eh?

They’ve given Southampton their own 1980s Hummel kit. Coventry and Denmark also had similar designs.

There’s no doubt Christian was the public face of the redevelopment but it seems too big a thing to have been pursued without owner enthusiasm.

In the blurb on the website it talks of reaction to the “crest and kit moniker”. I’m usually good with words but what on Earth do they mean by “kit moniker”?

I don’t want my club rebranded. Particularly by someone who has no connection to or understanding of it.
