  1. I know it's most likely BS, but I'd like to cling onto some optimism..
  2. *Warning further Twitter Rumours* Henry Smith‏@blankhenry1 Aston Villa are preparing another offer for Dembele. Also looking at another highly-rated Belgian midfielder. Delph staying put atm #avfc As usual it should be taken with a large dose of scepticism, but we can dream.
  3. I hope the interest is true. I know it's Spurs but if we're genuinely interested, and with the likelihood of losing Delph in the Summer, would anyone object to a swap deal now? I wouldn't!
  4. Just got myself one of these. PSN = Cudoz279 if anyone wants to add. Currently playing Destiny. Early days but I'm really enjoying it!
  5. Kristof Terreur ‏@HLNinEngeland 2m Christian Benteke's agent rubbishes claims that the striker will leave Aston Villa today. As suggested on Sky earlier. #AVFC
  6. If it's true it would lead me to think that KEA to Feyenoord will go ahead.
  7. He was way ahead on the Sanchez deal. (Warning twitter guff) Harj Johal ‏@harj04 1m Bid tabled and accepted for Tom Cleverley #AVFC
  8. Twitter rumours to Guidetti. He didn't do much whilst on loan last season IIRC.
  9. That article is a week old ..
  10. Probably from here .. (warning.. twitter alert) Elche CF English‏@Elche_EN Carlos Sanchez trains with Elche which ends speculation...for now.
  11. I work for an Insolvency Company, you should receive an RP1 form from the Insolvency Practitioner that you will need to complete and return to them. They will then upload your details to the Redundancy Payments Office (RPO) via an electronic link and forward the original form onto them. You should be paid as follows: 1) Compensatory Notice pay. - This will be dependent upon when your employer gives you notice. You are entitled to 4 weeks notice, if they fail to give you this, the RPO should pay you any notice you were entitled to, but didn't receive. 2) Arrears of Pay / Holiday Pay - As the name says, this is for any pay, or holiday entitlement, you have not received. The preferential limit for this (ie an amount that gets paid first in an Insolvency Situation) is £464 per week. 3) Statuotory Redundancy Pay - This is dependent upon your age and your length of service. You must have worked with the company for a minimum of 2 years. A helpful leaflet can be found here.(The rates and weekly limits are out of date, but the main principles haven't changed)
  12. Two different ways of looking at it: One is the way Risso has. The other is to look at the cash flow statement which shows the cash received and paid out during the year. In this respect we had an operational deficit of £19.6m and an outflow on players / tangible assets of £20.6m. All that means is that we had to borrow money from Randy during the year.
  13. Aston Villa FC's Ltd's (the accounts you have) loss is mainly accounted for in respect of Wages and Amortisation. Wages, for example, are 93% of our administrative costs. The loss has increased from 2012 due to the increase in exceptional items and loss on disposal of players (profit in 2012). Reform Acquisitions includes the above items but looks worse due Randy writing of £20m of interest due to him in the 2012 accounts. If we ignore the exceptional items (accelerated write down in player value, interest write off and profit on players in 2012) the figures are better than 2012. The "fun" world of accounting eh..
  14. To put SuttonPaul's mind at ease. The 1.8m Administrative loss in 2012 has been turned into a 15.8m Administrative profit in 2013. These figures are in Aston Villa FC Ltd's accounts. Administrative expenses themselves are 600k less than 2012 at £65m.
  15. I'm a bit confused by this. I can't see the £71.8m figure anywhere in the document. So what's that about? Is it including exceptional items (terminations, etc)? £71.8 million is from the accounts of Reform Acquisitions Ltd - the parent company of Aston Villa FC Limited.
  16. Where on that page? No Admin Expenses are detailed (at least not in Reform Acquisitions Ltd).
  17. Admin Expenses are not detailed in the accounts.. So I'd like to know where you're taking this figure from?
  18. We now have 1,601 employees (2012 - 1,740) which includes 12 more playing staff or coaches. The other figures are correct. Risso's post and your post yesterday said that staff costs were £71.8 million. Which is correct - £71.8m or £61.6m? I mis-read his post. I thought he had posted that it was c.£62m plus c.£8m social security. Staff costs are £71.8m, including social security costs. Breakdown. Staff Salaries - £62.6m Social Security - £8.7m Pension costs - £0.4m (Figures are rounded)
  19. Sutton Paul - I'll try to decipher below. Note 25 of the accounts deals with Contingent Liabilities - i.e. liabilities that could arise if certain, specific, conditions are met in the future. You would not expect this to include amounts left to pay on for a player bought on instalments as the condition surrounding that liability (i.e. you bought the player) has already been met. It would however include amounts due from clauses such as appearances, international caps, European qualification etc. These amounts are not required to be recognised on the face of the balance sheet, but they do need to be disclosed in the accounts. The directors report states that £19m of player registrations were acquired. The £6.1m is an impairment which varies to amortisation. This is to ensure that a players registration is not carried at more than recoverable amount. Amortisation aims to spread the 'cost' over the life of the asset. Impairment aims to reduce the cost to its market, or recoverable, value at that date. The £45.1m figure, taken from note 10 will include amortisation brought forward, amortisation during the year, impairment, less disposals - i.e. when you sell a player you will wipe out his original cost and any accumulated amortisation as at the date you sell him. This will then give you a "value" of the player as at the date of sale, to which you add the transfer fee to work out the profit / (loss) on the transaction. We now have 1,601 employees (2012 - 1,740) which includes 12 more playing staff or coaches. The other figures are correct. It might just be my morning brain (or the fact I should actually be working), but I can't see where you've taken this from?
  20. Yes exactly. Though i suspect their wages would be 20million for the year. Still makes wages 52 mill. Still very high and not sure whats pushing them up. There still must be a few more high earners at the club. Gabby, Delph, Nzogbia, Given, Hutton, Bent (Unless Fulham are paying 100% of his wages), Albrighton (?) seems to be the majority of the players left over from the O'Neill / Houllier / McLeish era of wages and contract renewals.
  21. Depreciation of tangible assets £5.8 million Amortisation of player registrations £22.6 million Staff costs £71.8 million (85% of group turnover) (These are the headline figures) _________________________________________________ From an operational perspective things are improving (slowly). Last years figures painted a slightly rosier picture due to the profit on player sales and Lerner waiving £20m in accumulated loan note interest. Net assets (following the debt to equity conversion) expected to be £5.8 million, not accounting for new player registrations and disposals.
  22. Did anyone hear the interview on Radio 5 Live last night? I'm sure he said during it that between 2002 - 2004 he was regarded, outside of England, as the best defender in the world. He was good, no doubt, but the best defender in the world? Really Sol, Really? He came across as extremely arrogant. Which appears to be backed up by these claims.
  23. I beat Andy Townsend at Laser Quest when I was 9.
  24. Personally I think kept him around the squad to see how he had recovered from his injury and try to prevent him breaking down. They must be satisfied and have subsequently sent him out on loan now they are confident that he is fit to gain some match fitness and sharpness. Hopefully the loan works out for him like Albrighton and he can come back and have an impact in our run in.
  25. Everyone says this but this is the first manager that has been appointed by the Glazers. I do think it's very unlikely that Moyes will be sacked but, given their last manager was Ferguson, and it would have been heresy to sack him, we don't really know what the owners are like.
