    Petrov has been consistently good in a Villa shirt since day one. The criticism he gets is usually from the numpties who think every good midfielder must score a 30 yard screamer every other game, and if you don't do that you're obviously shit.

    lol Albrighton has certainly had a better season then they ever had. He had a decent first half of last season. From January onwards he was sh#te.

    But we're not gonna replace him with a signing, so what are we gonna do? Replace him with either Makoun or Ireland? I shudder to think how poor our midfield would be with either one of those as a replacement.

    He's unreliable because of his ongoing injury problems. I'd have liked to have seen him replaced.

    He was in and out of the team all the tim he was at Villa. How can you name a player captain if he wasn't an automatic choice for the team?

    Concidentally, at the end of Petrov's first season, we were all saying exactly the same. I wish the player who played against West Ham had stayed for the rest of his Villa career. Makoun's contributed nothing to Villa since his debut. Petrov has been vital to us ever since he arrived. You only have to see how sh#t we were last season when he was injured and how we improved once he became fit again. If you can't see that you mustn't have watched the same Villa as I did last season.

    Im sorry but he is shite. He deserves it. Just because hes a model pro and all round nice bloke doesnt mean we should sweep his limitations as a footballer under the carpet. Especially when i see people slagging Makoun off and hes been here 5 minutes. Hes shown enough in that short time that hes better than Petrov, so fair is fair when it comes to 'bashing' We were at our worst last season when Petrov was out of the team. Once he came back in we picked up, so he can't be as bad as you make out. Makoun has had one good game since he arrived and that was his debut.

    We overate our kids way too much. Albrighton's a good prospect and he had a fine first half to last season. He was poor in the second half though. He contributed a few goals and some good assists but his all round play isn't good enough for him to be a starter just yet. I hope we play with just one winger next season. Playing with two puts too much pressure on the midfield and defence. Hopefully it'll be N'Zogbia with Albrighton making cameo appearances.

    To the sensible crowd its excellent business mate, but you know what VT has been like lately..... I wouldn't be too confident going into the new season with that midfield. Ireland's mad, Makoun's hardly pulled up any trees and Albrighton's a lightweight who goes missing for half a season. We need to spend serious cash if don't want another season like last.

    Milner, Young and Downing all sold within 12 months. Talk about a fire sale, this is ridiculous. I seriously hope Randy's got other plans for Villa that don't just include selling the family silver. What a horrible horrible 12 months at Aston Villa.
