Our first two Nike kits were fantastic. The best Villa kits in years. Sadly this season with the horrible chequerd designs harked back to all those chavvy kits of the past. Villa must stay claret shirts with sky blue collar/sleeves. Consistently give us that and Villa fans will be happy.

Come on people, the General's hardly going to criticise Houllier on an open forum is he. That's the sort of thing that's kept in house and rightly so. We don't hang our dirty linen out in public, and all that.

Staunton was the best left back I've seen at Villa in more than 30 years that I've watched the Villa. Played nearly 400 games for us and gave us 10 years service. Yeah he broke his service, but he came back and gave us his all again. Good Villa man and a top player.

Villa aren't a small club akin to the likes of Blackburn or Wigan - we're easily as big if not bigger than Everton, so why shouldn't we go out and get a manager from that club if we choose to? I wonder if the new manager would have wanted Milner or Ireland? The lack of a manager didn't stop us from completing that bit of business did it? Milner had made it perfectly clear he wanted out regardless. Mon originally wanted Ireland and Cittee wanted him out. No Ireland=no deal=one pissed off Jimmy=unhappy dressing room I don't for one minute think Milner would have caused any problems in the dressing room if he didn't get his move. I believe he would have knuckled down and got on with the job. Like it or not - Lerner sold and bought players without a manager at the club. Pity he wasn't so hands on up to the deadline yesterday.

General, very disappointed to hear the big screen will not be returning to the North stand - Witton corner. This screen was enjoyed by thousands of Villa fans for years, and within a blink of an eye you've taken it down without a thought and replaced it with a type of old fashioned scoreboard that we had installed 30 years ago. General there are thousands of disappointed Villa fans who enjoyed instant replays of match action who now simply cannot see the other video screen, and to be honest it's a bit of a backward step, and I'm hoping we haven't sold it just to raise a few quid. I implore you to reconsider and reinstall the 2nd video screen at Villa Park!!

If he gets us 15 league goals it would be brilliant. 20 goal a season strikers are few and far between anyway. Peter Withe was probably the last to do it for Villa.

This is O'Neill's fifth summer at Villa now, and we should all know how he works the transfer market like the back of our hands. Yet still there are threads like this full of hysterical moaners complaining like it's the end of the world just because we haven't got a player in yet. Get a grip.
