  1. Wow, two unreliable sources?! I know, but its quite weird. I'm pretty sure that you could find several 'unreliable sources' on here that will tell you it's going to be Ancelotti. He is unemployed, joint favourite at Skybet, and seems to be the fans' choice.
  2. I have a feeling that it'll be Moyes, at the moment. I still haven't voted yet, but I'm pretty sure Ancelotti would be the most exciting appointment. However, it would be wrong to be disappointed (although, with high hopes for Carlo, it'd be hard not to) if we were to appoint someone like Moyes or Hughes, who I think could do a good job. I don't particularly like Benítez (nor do I like Hughes) but I think he'd do well, too. I think McClaren would be a big gamble. He did very well at Middlesbrough and Twente, but very poorly at Wolfsburg and as the England coach. As for Martin Jol, I liked him at Tottenham and originally wanted him to replace O'Neill. However, he's been far from fantastic at Ajax and I'm not sure his relaxed approach regarding the fitness of the players would benefit us at all.
  3. What? And does this 'astonvillalife' actually have contacts?
  4. It's almost certain that Hughes is coming here if he's quit Fulham.
  5. Good film - I first watched it as the basis for some A-level German coursework, and have seen and enjoyed it a couple of times since then. And Julia Jentsch is pretty cute.
  6. Kompany is a very good defender. I'd say Baines is probably better than Kolarov, but there's not a huge amount of difference.
  7. Football Italia was amazing. However, the Guardian's European paper roundup, presented by Sir Jimbo himself, allows 5 happy minutes of nostalgia every week.
  8. Wooooah steady on there matey a Mansfield shirt? You will never be allowed down the B2Net with that attitude :-) But he'd be welcome at Field Mill - as would Cassano! I've not really got too many football shirts. I have the last 32Red Villa shirt, and the acorns one with Carew on the back. I've also got the blue ntl goalkeeper top that Schmeichel wore (regret not getting his name on the back!) and it's certainly been well worn. I've got a Hertha Berlin shirt from years ago, this season's Barcelona shirt with Piqué on the back (amazing) and the away shirt that Spain had in the World Cup, with Xavi on the back. I've recently started scouring eBay for some old shirts. Made an amateur error in thinking I'd bought a bargain Galatasaray shirt with Hagi on the back, only to realise that it's not an official replica after I'd won (it does say so in the item description, I just somehow missed it).
  9. On the other hand, I'm hoping he doesn't turn out to be an odious, diving cretin.
  10. Bob Marley's final concert, on the 'Live Forever' album released this year. 30 years yesterday since the great man died. RIP Nesta!
  11. With the players and support we have, we should be looking at European qualification next season and hopefully some silverware too.
  12. McLaren was absolutely awful at Wolfsburg.
  13. If anyone's a fan of The Lonely Island (the guys who did the fantastic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4, and the more recent ), their latest video is out. It features none other than Michael Bolton!
  14. Reus is from Dortmund, we're entitled to him Aren't Bayern supposed to be interested in him? It'll be hard to resist an offer from them.
  15. Nuri As I've said in the Bundesliga thread, he's a brilliant midfielder and could be fantastic alongside Alonso. However, there's the chance he may also fail to make it in Spain, as is the case with many quality players who pass through Real Madrid.
  16. I watched 'Cube' the other night. Strange stuff.
  17. Yup, the transfer has been confirmed. I despise Real Madrid, but I do hope that Nuri does well there. He could be fantastic alongside Alonso in central midfield, but he could also get pushed down the pecking order and never really make it. However, he certainly has the ability and attitude to go very far indeed. I just hope Gündoğan can step into his shoes, which is a very big ask.
