  1. I stand by my complex explanation.
  2. What? I'm a Leo now? Not that I think it matters, but Leo sounds much cooler than Virgo 8) Apparently it's not just for people born after a certain time, either. It was all just done wrong in the first place, essentially. That's according to this. And VA, they're written so that they do seem to apply to you. There's a good video of Derren Brown (and Richard Dawkins, I think) talking about it somewhere.
  3. Not in a gay way, just in a 'hey mate, I wanted to say that you're looking okay mate.' Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly? No all the time, obviously, just when he's got a problem with his self-esteem.
  4. We're supposed to agree a title with our tutor, and I doubt that one would be accepted as valid Did your daughter do an English literature degree too then? Any help with this would be good, although I do think I'm going to explore the role of the female within gothic lit. Not sure on a specific title as yet, but I'll probably come up with something as I go along.
  5. Urgh, I have to write a 2000-word essay on 18-19th century Gothic literature by Monday, and I'm at work most of the day on Sunday. I just can't be arsed and can't even think of a title or anything to write about.
  6. "Oh, I remember exactly what we did at the look out. We just looked... out. Across the city from our little spot on the hilltop. Oh, it's so pretty from way up there. We talked about how the lights from the buildings and cars seemed like reflections of the stars... that shone out so pretty and bright, that night." "It was daytime."
  7. I really like their live performance of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlYkIJVguCU.
  8. "They don't call it the amazing race for nothing." Yup, they call it the amazing race because, obviously, you take the risk of catapulting a watermelon into your own face.
  9. Me too, on the working backwards part. De-loused is an amazing album (although my favourite song, Cicatriz Esp, is twelve and a half minutes long - so probably not one of your favourites!), but I also think that The Bedlam in Goliath is fantastic, which a lot of TMV fans seem to disagree with. I wasn't too keen on their last album, but really liked the song Cotopaxi. I saw them live in Amsterdam during the tour too - they were brilliant.
  10. I do like At the Drive-In, but I prefer The Mars Volta. That said, good song. I'm currently listening to Flight of the Conchords - Sugalumps.
  11. Doesn't sound like a situation you'd want to be in! Got to feel for the guy though, obviously.
  12. You've got to say though, the guy has charisma as well as skill.
  13. Haha! That goalkeeper is fantastic.
  14. He's probably an unbelievable goalkeeper.
  15. Indeed. The best finisher in the world, imo. I've been a huge fan of David Villa for quite a while - I bought a Valencia shirt with his name on the back a few years ago. Also loving the Messi free-kick and the goalkeeper's reaction. The man is absolutely amazing.
  16. Hopefully Delph and Albrighton (if they play) won't get carried away; both players are young, committed players who often make rash challenges. Hopefully the atmosphere won't get the better of them and they can stay discliplined. I do think we can win this one. I'm going to stick my neck out and say 3-1 to us.
  17. The proof is in the pudding, and the pudding, in this case, is a football.
  18. Friedel, Albrighton and Walker with good performances. Albrighton was my man of the match. Petrov, despite his miss, looked good when he came on. Had drive and determination and did well to play in behind their midfield as they pushed forward. However, I'm not sure he has the fitness levels to do this so late in the game if he's been playing from the start! Dunne, Pires and Reo-Coker were poor. Happy to have won, and just hope we can gain some confidence and progress in the league as well as the tournament.
  19. Cuellar probably did catch him, but he went down very easily. Let's not let our heads drop now. Come on Villa!
  20. Ash did very well to set up the second goal. He may not be the player he was, but I think that there are numerous reasons for that, and people still expect too much of him. He's still one of our most dangerous players.
