  1. Now that would agonising....
  2. Would make sense but Aguero was very poor in the group games...
  3. Why isn't Robben's 2nd goal against Spain in the bbc's goal of the tournament?
  4. They could bring both Woakes and Jordan into the side for Plunkett and Stokes. Also Broad looked a bit knackered. Just 3 days off, they will need to freshen it up a bit..
  5. Last match for Ajmal... I bet you have a spinners wicket at New Road so 317 isn't bad at all especially as their spinner has taken 3 on the first day. Choudry playing as well...
  6. Yes really awful test match though because of that wicket.....I've seen Kerrigan bowl Warwickshire out but I don't think India wlll be too concerned. I have to feel sorry for Woakes as he's included in virtually every squad and keeps being left out. Stokes has a no ball problem and hasn't scored runs this season I think Woakes should replace him and they have to make a decision about the balance of the side....Lords is bad for spinners so little point bringing Kerrigan into the side I think....
  7. Townsend is terrible. Danny Murphy I like...
  8. Yes Patel has improved a lot and really should be playing test cricket for New Zealand. First year at Warwickshire in 2009 he was rubbish...Not in the class of Ajmal though but what a mistake by Chopra forgetting he had another over left. Lucky it didn't cost. Wright has been rubbish the last few games for Warwickshire. We miss having Piolet and Maddy to take the pace off in the middle overs...We can progress but not of we continue to make mistakes like we have done in the last few games. Last game for Ajmal in t20 and they miss Moeen big time for both his batting and spin option, so think they may miss out..
  9. I think that was due to the fact there were two new people at the crease. Get your pacemen in against them to rough them up a bit in the final few overs it worked didn't it.
  10. I hope he is part of the first team next season. He's a player with bags of ability. If you could merge his ability with Albrighton's attitude that would be one great footballer.
  11. If England are going to progress under Moores we need a new captain. Cook is rubbish, follows the ball and then takes Moeen off after taking his 2nd wicket. How is that going to give him confidence...

    Liverpool

Just sounds like a bitter fan to me.... Suarez gave Liverpool their best season for many years... Anyway we'll see what Liverpool will do without Suarez next season...I bet Sturridge is half the player... Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Man U will all be stronger
  13. Yes Warwickshire would have won it otherwise. They played a lot of games at Liverpool....A world record 10th wicket partnership,,,, This is the wicket for batting records to go....We'll declare after tea
  14. the year after they won it they were relegated. I think he's a decent county coach, but no more. It may be harsh, but he has no charisma, no zest, no x-factor and no experience of playing test cricket. He's like a middle manager at an insurance company. That's how he comes across, and as much as I agree with Strauss on KP, I suspect that KP was right about Moores. A bit better than a decent county coach. To do what he did at Sussex and to win a title which such an ordinary group of players at lancs was quite amazing. I don't think it matters that he didn't play test cricket....Neither did Duncan Fletcher.... I think given time he will do a very good job with England.... Who else could they have gone for anyway... Giles?
  15. Poor coaching. Moores is not the man for the job. Bad appointment. Sure the problem of collapses and iffy bowling started before his time, but it really needed someone with more test experience to re-set the mentality and introduce rigour to the players and the plans. He's just not cut out for international coaching IMO. Yet another gobbledegook merchant. Boycott was talking about the fact that a lot of the back room staff have no experience of international cricket. I wouldn't disagree. I think it goes deeper (as you suggest) but it doesn't look like he was the right choice (as a lot of people said in this thread at the time). How long did he last first time around? He didn't last because of Pieterson. This is a new era post Pieterson and its going to take time.... We are still in the very early days of the Indian series. Cricket is a funny game... things can turn around very quickly.
  16. Poor coaching. Moores is not the man for the job. Bad appointment. He's just not cut out for international coaching IMO. Yet another gobbledegook merchant. Its a bit too soon to say that.... Moores has limited experience at international level but he is a very well respected coach. He was the man that built the dynasty of Sussex. A small county who had won nothing until he came around. Then he coached Lancashire to their first title in about 50 years. Don't judge him too quickly. This is a new team and its going to take time.
  17. Hansen is set for his last game on Sunday. Its the end of an era. Don't think he was neccessarily good, full of cliches but I think I will miss him now....
  18. They have already signed a couple of strikers so don't think they will. Also would he fit into the Rodgers style of play? Benteke is far more mobile than Carroll, but that big target man Rodgers doesn't like...
  19. Bad toss to loose though. i think with the cloud cover it did a bit more than on the first two days....Anyway I think we'll get a draw out of it...
  20. I wish him all the best.... Not too excited but its a decent signing being what we have to play with...
  21. Close for me. Have been discussing World Cup 11's on another forum and the consensus for "outstanding" CB's seems to be; Rafael Marquez Thiago Silva Mats Hummels Ron Vlaar Mario Yepes No Vincent Kompany in there?

    Liverpool

It will be very interesting to see Messi and Suarez play together....Champions league winners I think!
  23. Would he get in the best world cup 11?
  24. I have to disagree because I don't think Messi has been that impressive (yes, 4 goals I know, but by his standard he has been quiet). Maradona meanwhile dragged Argentina on his own in 1986 and was head and shoulders the best player in the tournament ...and PaulC: In my opinion Maradona was way more ahead of the rest than Messi is, and will still be the best all-time. I love his skills. But Messi gets over a major hurdle. It is easy to argue that you need to have won the WC to be the best. Messi is a great player, will rightly be considered among the greatest to play the game, but he was no Maradona. Messi doesn't cope with been marked by 4 players, and getting lumps kicked out of him anywhere near as well as Maradona did and in Maradona's day players weren't anywhere near as well protected. theres probably some quote by socrates (the original one) that could be spun in to football terms, no doubt di stefano would have argued maradona had it lucky... if / when messi wins the world cup and finally silences those who say "he cant be the best ever until he wins the world cup" will there be another wave of people saying "he cant be the best ever because he doesnt get kicked" (which id actually argue isnt true, I've seen him get battered in many games, especially vs Jose's madrid) if thats going to happen then whats the point in having a "best ever" discussion in the 1st place? it seems as futile as the good old "world class" discussion Without meaning to be pedantic, I don't think the argument is that he wont be considered the best if he doesn't win the world cup, I think it is more he won't be considered the best if he doesn't have an amazing world cup on his CV. Before this tournament he had had 1 world cup where he was poor by his standards, and another where he was just a young 19 year old bit part player. I don't think he has owned this world cup like Maradona 86, or Pele 70 or even Cruyff 1974, but he has played very well in 4 games I think. Pele had a great world cup also in 58 when he was only 17. He was injured for the most part in 62 and wasn't fit in 66 when he was at his peak age wise . Arguably we never saw the best of Pele. He would be my no.1 followed by Maradona and now its up to Messi to prove he's up there...
