  1. The current rate of inflation in Zimbabwe could be as high as a Quintillion percent, although no-one is really sure of the exact rate. When the government introduced the Z$ 100 Billion note, it could purchase 3 eggs. They have recently introduce a 100 trillion dollar note. The current US$ to Z$ exchange rate is at an all time low (or high depending on which way you look at it) of US$1 = Z$ 28.4 Quadrillion
  2. Lets just say a week's teambuilding in the lake district is a very "bonding" experience.
  3. If I throw a dart on target, it will land in a scoring part of the board. If I kick a rugby ball on target it will go through the posts. If I throw a basketball on target it will go in the ring. If I throw a punch on target it will hit the punching bag. If I kick a football on target it will end up in the goal.
  4. How is this thread so long? Surely on target means if no-one gets in the way, the shot would be a goal, i.e. it has to be saved to stop it from being a goal. If it hits the woodwork it isn't going in, easy as that. If you hit the rim in basketball is that on target? of course it isn't.
  5. I think I'd stick a sharp object through my scrotum if it meant I could have another holiday from owrk. Actually, that probably would get me some time off work. Be right back...
  6. Neither for me. He wasa decent striker but that was it. I've always thought he was overrated by Villa fans. When he was at his best he was excellent, but that just didn't happen enough. Certainly not a flop though.
  7. I like their music, although it does get a bit dull if listened to for a long time.
  8. I love Queen and I'm not afraid to admit it. I believe very few people were put on this Earth to entertain people. Freddy Mercury was most certainly one of them.
  9. You're probably right Levi. But one of the arguments for terracing will be that prices would be cheaper. But as you said, clubs may not feel the need to drop prices.
  10. Yeh but are Everton and Fulham regularly selling out? Do they need the extra capacity. And if they got it would they make enough to justify the cost of rebuilding? I'm not so sure it would be worth their while.
  11. how about new builds take us ... lets say you tear down the North and replaced it with a replica of the Holte but with the lower - safe standing, so instead of 8k you could have say 5k extra, paying lower but these are extra capacity anyway ... top tier could then be corporate ... That's exaclty what I mean. The law would be passed that it was allowed, then we come to do up our stand we would then consider the terracing. In that situation terracing would probably be favourable as I imagine if the whole stand was being rebuilt, it would be cheaper to build terracing. However, I wouldn't imagine any club would rebuild a stand JUST to have the new terracing.
  12. The only way it would happen would be if the law was passed that it was allowed, and then as Premier League ground were rennovated or replaced anyway, for example, pompey moving to their new ground, they then include these standing areas in their new grounds/stands. I really can't see any premier league gorund going out of their way to change their stands.
  13. This was my earlier point, or at least one I was trying to make. How will we know it's safe until another violent act or disaster happens? It probably would be safe. But old terracing was "probably safe" and the new design of hillsborough with the pens was supposed to be safer, and look what happened.
  14. And with dwindling attendences in th eleague anyway, surely a lot of the terraces wouldn't be full anyway, taking away from the atmosphere somewhat. Yes tickets would be cheapr, but if clubs spent millions on converting to terrsacing, would they want to drop prices?
  15. I know that but the terracing and the sheer number of fans contributed. I'm sure safe standing would be, hence the name, safe. But if anything like hillsborough or Valley Parade (even though that was nothing to do with terracing) happened again, do you not think the scapegoat in the whole thing would be the reintroduction of terracing. This isn't a reason I don't want it done. I'd be all for it. This is a reason why I can't see one of the powers that be taking a punt and backing it, because if something goes wrong they'll get the blame.
  16. WOul dbe all for it to improve the atmosphere, but would it be safe? Probably would be safe. But I can't see it happening. HIllsborough et al have set an example and if standing was brought back and something like that happened again it would be inforgiveable.
  17. I agree with BOF. Reading the thread title, yes, money can buy success. But the poll implies money and football guarantees success, which isn't necessarily true. Ergo, i haven't voted.
  18. Should do, Ian. So many people say "I hate drugs, would never take them" and yet regularly take caffeine, nicotine or alcohol.
  19. I did think that a little strange. They really aren't the same.
  20. I'm not a regular drug taker but if I do opt for that route on a night out it's the white powder for me.
  21. The orders you will be processing will be people ordering the same thing! You might get some dosh, but I guarantee there won't be enough orders for you to make anywhere near 250 quid a week.

    Top Gear

It was a quality episode. very funny and also hugely interesting. The suits bit cracked me up. And I bet they would get in a mood. If someone told me I had to ride the length of Vietnam on a crappy motorbike I'd tell them to **** right off.
  23. Arsenal for me. Don't really know why, but I hate United and Liverpool and think i always will. Also, chelsea carry a natural hatred for buying their way into the upper echelons of football. So that leaves Arsenal. Although I'm not too fond of them either.
  24. At the moment I have a decent income (for a single bloke with no dependants it's more than decent I suppose) and a little bit saved. However, seeing as I work in the car industry, saving is top priority at the moment., So now I'm comfortable, how long that will last may depend on the government.
  25. If it's inconclusive then the decision can't be given, whatever it was. Penalty, goal, throw in, corner, whatever. If it's inconclusive then it isn't given, that's how it is in other sports. then we have stopped the game artifically Which may be inevitable. But My method reduces the amount of times it would happen, and dissuades managers from doing it for no reason because they would be punished.
