  1. Why does the red spot look like Rolf Harris?
  2. We could do with the investment of someone who can afford to buy us outright, not the spare change of a few businessmen who have clubbed together. I suppose it could be argued that if the consortium members are very rich individuals they will still have plenty to spare after buying only a fraction of the club each, although many would think anyone really wealthy wouldn't bother sharing the club with others who have potentially differing opinions on how the club moves forward.
  3. You can always rely on the mail... not!
  4. And yet if it was an Arab consortium everyone would be excited. Ridiculous to jump to such conclusions based on the nationality of the buyer(s). In fairness, it is also ridiculous to jump to conclusions based on a tabloid newspaper story.
  5. Exactly. Papers run a scatter-gun approach and then shout loud about a hit they have whilst ignoring their dozens of misses. We will need to wait and see.
  6. We'll need to wait and see but if the latest gossip regarding a sale to a UK consortium is correct, I worry it may just be a few businessmen scraping their money together to enjoy the limelight of owning a Premier League football club and being hosted at the likes of the emirates and mold trafford. Hopefully any sale will be better than that.
  7. In sweden it's not illegal to have sex with a 16 year old, and have you seen how the 16 year olds look these days ? hard to say if she is 16 or 26.. A girl of 15 would be illegal in the UK.
  8. Sherwood and Pochettino will end up fighting in the technical area. Beyond that, it's hard to call. That's acceptable but if they stray outside of the technical area it will be a disgrace and a hark back to the bad old days of the eighties.
  9. I'd prefer Only one possible response to that... It shows my age that I googled 'Steve Austin' expecting to see images of the six million dollar man, instead I saw a big bald bloke and thought who the eck is that!
  10. We are outside the bottom three and another game closer to the end of the season. I'd say that makes us ever so slightly better off; particularly better off than QPR who would have been even more hopeful of a point or 3 against a struggling Everton who have just returned from a heavy defeat in far away Kiev. It's also another match gone in a game where you'd think we'd be more likely to gains points in comparison to most of our other fixtures. It's now put massive pressure on the QPR game. I still think we'll stay up but I don't think this weekend has been particulary kind to us, all of our own doing of course. I think a decent Swansea team had a fair say in our result too. In regard to where points are predicted to come from, QPR's result was worse than ours. Yes, Burnley and Leicester wouldn't have been hoping for any more than a point but another game goes by and another zero points was returned. In regard to whether this weekend was good or bad for us, a good measure might be the bookies relegation odds. We have moved out from around 7/2 to 9/2. Obviously a win yesterday would have been great and probably sent our odds out to around 6/1, but this weekend has moved us very slightly in the right direction. If anyone is sure we will still be relegated, the bookies odds say a season ticket at Villa Park next season can be had for around £100. I expect that will increase after our next away game but hope it will get cheaper after 3 points against QPR.

  12. I understand this and I'd hope that we would have a good finish to the season and possibly finish above the likes of Everton, especially if they had dropped points today. The reality is we need to ensure we finish above at least 3 teams. Todays results have helped us in this season's rather unambitious aim.
  13. My missus (Holte End ST holder for 23 years) is the first to have a go about any booing of the team so I trust her judgment that the booing yesterday was at the officials, not the team. Sat in the front centre of the Upper Holte, I could see and hear a few supporters clapping the teams efforts after the final whistle.
  14. Hull are effectively one point above us because of goal difference. Betfair have us both at 4/1.
  15. Technically known as a 'gunt', his mother still calls him Jeremy.
  16. Why worry? It always goes wrong at some point but that's football. Best just to enjoy the good results, however long they last.

    Tickets

You'd think so. Shame we don't know so!
  18. A few questions amongst a bit of a rant. As the tickets went on sale this morning for our game against uncertain opponents to be played on an unknown day at an unspecified time, does anyone know when the date and time is to be announced? Are the FA really going to make us wait until after the Blackburn/pool match which isn't being played until 8th April? When replays are normally sorted within 10 days or so after the drawn match, why is the last QF being played a whole long month after the first game? Why didn't pool play Swansea at the weekend just gone (instead of insisting they played on Monday for TV), thus freeing them to play Blackburn yesterday or tonight and getting it all sorted? Am I the only fan who finds it ridiculous that tickets (presumably the best seats for each of the price bands) are being sold before some people know whether they can go to the match? Will full refunds be given if someone can't attend due to it being on the wrong day for them? If not, will the better seats in each area be sold before those waiting to know whether they can go to the match can buy tickets? I'm surprised this issue isn't getting anymore coverage other than a few posts in the ticket section and I'm concerned coverage will remain low if this gets moved there! Perhaps I should ring Nicky Keye!
