I am coming to this view. If he really wanted to start his career in management I am sure he could have got a championship club this summer. Lampard and Gerrard only did a season or so of youth coaching before they moved to management. Having played at the top level for 20 odd years perhaps he doesn't really fancy the pressures of management and would rather have a nice worklife balance. Can't blame him.
I still go back to that hot, frantic day at Wembley when we lost to Fulham. I was convinced that was it, and Jack would be off. Now two years and a bit later he is still here, is even better, and has signed a long term contract with us.
Ok. I admit that I wouldn't have minded us going for Wellbeck last season for some PL experience but we have moved on since then and he had a rubbish season with yet another injury. Give this a wide birth.
But I thought we were going to buy Rashica?!
Other than the Watkins signings, most of the transfers were as usual done quickly, without fuss, and with most 'journalists' having no clue about them.
Everyone thought Grealish would leave and he signs a new contract. Without that we would not have brought in Barkley's loan.
Delving deep into the record books Villa did beat Liverpool 5-0 on the final day of the 1898/99 season. Villa needed a point to win the league, Liverpool came second.
Being a Arsenal regular and England international at 18 suggests at the very least he could have had a stellar career. He played like a tough tackling midfielder which unfortunately his body couldn't really cope with, and he was too stubborn or was not advised to change his style to avoid further injuries.
Re going for another striker or not. If dean and co are so happy for just Watkins to carry the line then why were we trying to buy Wilson? Do they think Traore could do a job up front if needed?
My brother accidentally bought the single after misreading the cassette thinking it was Spaced, the rather mediocre scouse indie band, rather than the Spice Girls.
Meaningless 90s nostalgia trip there.
Have we ever scored 7 at home in a top flight league game? I remember the 6-4 v Blackburn in the League Cup Semi,. and the bonkers 5-5 draw with Forest a couple of years ago. But 7?
That game was not televised at all so not even any scratchy video at all to see what happened but by all accounts was one of Villa best post war home peformances. Now this time was televised but no crowd in the ground which is a strange reverse. Football can move in interesting ways sometimes.
