  1. THIS f##king annoys me no end. I actually have a good story about a situation like this. One saturday I was shopping with the wife at the Local supermarket, and we kept getting stuck behind these type of people. It was really starting to piss me off no end. So when we got to the next aisle, there was a couple who had abandoned their trolley in the middle of the aisle, only to take up most of the aisle to look at the labels of tins (you know the type)...everyone was trying to get passed them and they were so ignorant they just ignored everyone and carried on... some people said "excuse me" and they were just ignored.... Then I had a brilliant idea.I waited until everyone infront of us had passed them, and just as we went passed I grabbed their trolley and carried on walking as if it was mine, procceded to the end of the aisle as if nothing was unusual, then walked right to the end of the shop and dumped their trolley and proceded back to meet the wife, but I just couldnt help myself in finding out their reaction. So walked to the end of the aisle where the crime had taken place, and pretended I was looking for something, believe it or not they were still looking at the labels on the tins. Then they turned around, and when they could not see their trolley anywhere they began to row in-front of the whole store. She was asking him where their trolly was and he was stating "it was right here just a minute ago".... Still brings a smile everytime I think about it. When we eventually made it to the end of the store the trolley was still there. My missus wasn't to happy, but it certainly made shopping that day more entertaining.
  2. This scottish clearing in the woods is making me f##king hate football, truely couldn't wait for saturdays to come round for the football fixtures, now I dread them... No Passion, no fight. Havent lost at Wolves for 33 years (I read this today) and we look like we could get hammered by a team that is bog-standard. Learner seems stubborn and will not admit he has made a vital mistake by employing this clown, and doesnt seem to want to do anything about it. People used to moan about Doug, but at least he cared.... Learner can f##k right off and take the Ginger turd with him... At this moment in time I f##king hate football and am starting to hate the way these w@nker owners just come in and play with OUR clubs and refuse to learn from their mistakes-or even show signs that they care. F##K OFF LEARNER, YOU ARE RUINING THIS GREAT CLUB AND EVERYTHING IT STANDS FOR. rant over
  3. What if it's not his fault, maybe down to dodgy equipment? Sorry to quote you PV, but I think you're right. If it's his fault and people died then no he shouldn't. I think the same with drivers, if you kill someone on the road and you're clearly to blame, life time ban. It wont come down to whether it was his fault mate, chances are he will never captain again because no company will trust him with their multi-million pound vessle. This will cost the millions of pounds to repair not to mention the money they will be losing whilst she is out of action. Especially if they put it down to neglegance on his behalf. Incidentally, he's being charged with manslaughter Yeah just seen that on the news, people have died and someone needs to be held responsable....I see he is blaming it on the equipment not picking the rocks up on the nav equipment. He will have a very hard time proving that, these vessles are equiped with some very high tech equipment. As I said, he will never captain again, and will face charges of alot more than manslaughter I would imagine.
  4. Thanks mate, only reason I know it is because I have worked in shipbuiding for nearly 20 years. Not because I am full of knowledge or a nerd or anything like that. Ask me about history or other various subjects and I would be clueless...lol
  5. From the photos I would suggest the area that she grounded on is not level so she was already listing over to one side after she hit (like parking sideways on a hill), the water has gushed in with great force and filled the side that she was already leaning to (which would add more weight to that side) and she slowly started to topple/lean further to the point where she could not come back.

  7. First of all they will have to upright her (many tugs involved) then pull her back into open waters, again using the tugs. Whilst ensuring she is watertight and not likely to sink (highly unlikely she would sink though). They will then ballast her to make sure she is level to a certain degree. From there she will be slowly towed to a dry dock for a survey of the damage, and someone from the insurance company along with surveyours will make a decision on the extent of the damage and repair involved. You can bet your bottom dollar that the captain will find himself in court over it and will probably never captain a ship again though... Shame, wonderful vessle. It's a bloody massive hole. Mending that before setting her afloat will be quite a task. They wont need to mend it mate, they will upright her and certain sectors of the bottom of the ship will fill with water (where the shell has been breached). They will make sure that all other areas are watertight with use of the watertight doors and bulkheads etc and she will float. The problem will be if the shell is split above the lower decks and looking at the photos it is no-where near them. So uprighting her and getting her to float will not be a problem. Is not like the days of the Titanic anymore, ships are broken into segments/areas that can take on a massive amount of water without sinking. The ship wont just continue to fill with water until in sinks. It will take on water where the rip is, the compartments that are breached will fill up with water to the next deck up and to the forward and aft bulkheads that are watertight and she will then float. The easiest way to imagine it would be to think of an empty 2 litre bottle, that has 20 different compartments all seperate from one another (horizontally and vertically, sit the bottle in water, it will float. Split the bottle at the bottom breaching 2-3 compartments and they would fill with water, the bottle will still float and as long as the dividing boundarys are not broken the bottle will stay afloat, ableit sit lower in the water. This is how ships are designed, the shell can split and she will still float, although certaib areas of the ship will be full of water, it wont just fill with water completley until it sinks.

  10. I see you are like me, I love the Partridge quotes, many times at work I have used "I belieeevvve we've established that" when you have to explain things a number of times....only for my mate to be the only one who picks up on it, whilst the rest look at me like Im some sort of wierdo,,,lol Cant wait to start on the Partridge book, expecting big things from it now though...especially as you have rated it so highly.
  11. I did say it was my personal opinion mate! everyone has different tastes. I personally think Talladega Nights is one of his best! Sorry you don't feel the same but no need to go off on one about it! For what its worth, I thought step-brothers was shite. But hey-ho, thats MY opinion!
  12. I think stepbrothers is better then anchorman. My personal opinion only but Ferrell's best film is Talledega Nights, obsolute classic, Anchorman and Blades of Glory in joint 2nd. I love the guy, think he is so funny, though some of his films are just "too" stupid if thats possible. Also loved him in the TV series east bound and down.
  13. Brought this today, I never read books as I normally cant be ar$ed. But as soon as I seen it I had to buy it. I foookin love Partridge and have no doubt its funny as. Steve Coogan is a comedy king and Partridge is a legend. Cant wait to get started on it. Gonna be hitting it hard when I get back to work in the lunch hour.
  14. Sorry, but isn't this what he does when he is available to us?.
  15. Id let him go for nothing in january, that would be saving us 1/4 mill a month on wages alone. Add that up for the time he has left on his contract and its a substantal amount of money saved on a player that offers us nothing in return.
  16. Take him outside and shoot him for all I give a shite. He is fecking useless. Doesnt provide service for other strikers, and certainly never finds the net. As others have stated, his primary job is to score goals or at least set up a few. All I ever see him do is look like he is going to cry and sitting on his ar$e. (ands some people want bent sold because he hasnt scored enough this season......meh) The sooner we manage to get him off the books the better imo. One of the worst players in Villa history.....ever!
  17. Thats because Heskey has never had/ nor will ever have a record of scoring goals like Bent, I for one agree that Mcleish uses neither to thier strengths, but goals win you football matches, heskey will never score enough goals to do that where-as Bent will. Play a system to suit your best players, i.e providing Bent with chances and we might start seeing him hit the net again, in fact I can almost guarantee he will (because his record is 2nd to none at every club he has been at when getting the service). I can see why most fans would be angry if we sold him. Give him the service and he will win us points by scoring goals, play the shite that we have been and he wont. The system needs changing and to do that either Mcleish needs to wake up and change to tactics or he needs to go, rather than selling the best chance we actually have of scoring goals.
  18. Over-Reactions? We lost, its as simple as that!, doesnt matter how well we played really, that will not keep us from slipping down the table. Its the results that count. And sadly we failed to get a result again through our inability to defend set-pieces at all. You might not like hearing it, but it is a results business at the end of the day.
  19. Just because our current manager is absolutely diabolical doesn't mean MON was great. Name me another manager that has brought us 3 consecutive 6th place finishes in the last 10-15 years...or even further.... And to add to your comment, Houlier done brilliant didnt he? No, but Gregory did just as well, and Little and Atkinson did better. None of managed to achieve the coveted three consecutive 6th place finishes, but the latter two got us higher and won us a trophy each. No, I never said that. Alright then, just becuase Houllier wasn't successful with us and McLeish is diabolical doesn't mean MON was great. Just because our current manager is absolutely diabolical doesn't mean MON was great. so you are one of those that wasnt happy with a free scoring team, punching above our weight, regually taking points off of the big 4, semi -final, and a final all in one season.... Cause I tell you pal, I absolutley loved it! along with many others. especially when you look how far we have fallen since. The facts are all there mate, just because you choose to ignore them doesnt make it any differnet. Oh yeah, I absolutely hated it. As a fan of Aston Villa I hate to see them do well... :bonk: However, with the resources he had I don't think he did anything remarkable. I wasnt having a pop mate, just think he DOES deserve a little more credit from some Villa fans. I loved watching us score lots of goals and scare some of the big boys to death... teams didnt like playing us thats for sure. it just niggles me howSOME fans think we are better of without him, when we clearly havent been.... (not directed at you mate).

  22. and what would be wrong with that? smacks of double standards if ever i seen it. If he fails some Villa fans will be saying "I told you he was limited". he should get the pludits it he turns Sunderland into a half decent side. You cant have it all your own way. Its called credit where credit is due! If he does succeed there the media will have every right to say those things. He is a media darling because unless you forgot he took us to the dizzy heights of 6th THREE SEASONS IN A ROW! something we wont be seeing again in the imediate future and anytime soon after that. Face facts, he done a fantastic job here....some people are to quick to forget that. The way some people go on about him being limited etc, have far have we progressed since he went? we took 5 steps forward when he was here, only to go 10 steps back since he left.
  23. He wont fail, He will get the best out of their players as he did here. They will be a much better TEAM than they are at the moment, and a damn site better TEAM than us.... cause thats what he does best, he gets players playing for each other, not for themselves. He will do for them what he did for us, he will assess the squad and play to their strengths. Yes he will make a few mistakes along the way, but what managers doesnt. Cant believe the ammount of abuse he gets on here, when he took over we were very much a team like we are now....SHITE! He transformed us and got the players to believe in themselves. For all of those that slated his style of football he got us playing, how are we doing now? or are we in transition? AGAIN!
  24. Mondeo ST TDCi, In the best colour Performance Blue, absolutley immaculate condition, only 42,000 on the clock. My missus says I love it more than her lol, regually polishing it and keeping it in tip top condition, and one of the best drives I have ever had, handles great, verrrrry quick and looks the buisness. Absolutley love it. Paid £8000 back in march after looking at so many bad examples of that model, when I found this one I had to have it.
