  1. Home draw but this time with a manager who knows who he can and can't trust we should be fine. The stevenage debacle and then the Everton **** up this year means we know dendonker or Chambers won't be available to screw it up this time. I want a cup run please
  2. it's just a blinking hypothetical with absolutely zero influence on what we will actually do. You seem inordinately concerned that the casual preference of something irrelevant will somehow transmit itself into the fortunes of the club's footballing results. Anything, you I or anyone else says or does has no affect whatsoever on how well we do under Unai. I can understand why people prefer CL, I can see that argument but it comes across, perhaps its just posting style, I dunno, as if you're genuinely really annoyed that people think differently to you, that not everyone is worshiping at the financial altar of champions league football. Like unless everyone subscribes to this hyper-"rational" argument, of what is technically the choice that leads to some idea of an "objective" best outcome, they are somehow almost traitors for not supporting it with the same level of ferocious engagement. It is just a game, or at least, it should be just a game, and it's been gradually ruined over time through an obsession with money, coupled with a fairly malignant whipping up of tribal sentiments so that fans are psychotically wound up with the fate of a business entity. I and pretty much everyone else at various points have been worked up far too much by this obsession to unhealthy degrees. The money, the politics and imbalances of power are all only aligning for the interests of a few very rich stakeholders. I don't give a damn whether we appeal to some rich feckers the other side of the world. If we do well I guess all that comes anyway, but putting that as the front and centre is a bit of a sad way of looking at it. I'd rather bin off following football entirely if that's the way we're supposed to engage with football according to "Logic". We're ( an idealistic notion I know ) an English football club playing in the English premier league. I like the cup competitions. Winning one of those competitions means something to me. Europe is fun, and exotic sure, but it's an add on, it has prestige, I'm delighted to have Rotterdam on our honours board and if anyone can do that for us it's Unai, but meh, if "all" we do over the next 5 years is win a couple of domestic cups I'll be delighted to have enjoyed those moments. "
  3. Oppenheimer Barbie Rye Lane GotG 3 Mission Impossible 7 (1) Robot Dreams -- Bank of Dave The Miracle Club More than I remembered initially from 2023 it seems. Robot Dreams was an LFF animated one. Quite charming really, if a little too long.
  4. You seem to be under the misunderstanding I wouldn't be happy with CL? I would. I'm just not obssessed with the bottom line, get as rich and as powerful as quickly as possible even if we win **** all in the process. Everything is transient, nothing lasts forever, even if we spent a few years in the CL, that'll go, teams wax and wane unless they're bankrolled by a state. And you find it mental to take a cup win? There's more to life than money, just for the spreadsheet afficianado's among you
  5. where did leicester get in the champions league. Can anyone remember. Does anyone care? They got relegated two years later. But the trophies are still there.
  6. Cup no question, and FA Cup because it's been far too long. Obviously I'd be delighted with any of these happening this season. But I'm on the side of winning a competition and lifting a trophy, about those memorable moments, rather than qualifying to have a creditable trip against a higher calibre of european opponents. The CL doesn't interest me too much as most of the clubs have dickwit owners, and unless a game jumps out at me I have no interest in following it, I will do when Villa are in it, but until that I don't care. But I do follow the FA Cup more closely, I am interested in how other teams get on, - ish anyway.
  7. Think we might see Ramsey start this one. Moreno to get more minutes from the bench. Bailey to start for me.
  8. frustrating not to get the third, but at least we're in pole position. Missed chasnce to rest a whole team though
  9. this has been really poor bar the goal, very disappointing again in europe. The deeds don't match the words in how much these guys want to do well in europe it seems
  10. Seems an unnecessary risk for a big game. Let's hope it works.
  11. Probably bent, but who cares..both clubs are a sham. Hope they both fold / lose every game / go out of business etc. Newcastle fans to continue the idea the world is against them even when the only reason they're in this competition is because the tory government leant on the PL. bellends the lot of em
  12. Go hard and if we can get a 2 or even 3 goal lead then make subs for Alex and Jacob but this is an important game to get right. I'd rather we nail it with the strongest side to give the final game a complete freebie to relax in.
  13. Horseshit. Like bollocks did she make it to 400
  14. United have the potential to be a threat always, they have some good players, and will always have the resource to invest in January. They may have some utter shite and been lucky in the extreme in a few games, but sometimes all it takes is for a bit of luck to snowball into genuine momentum. Ignoring United would be daft. That said, I still back us, all other things being more or less equal in terms of injuries etc, to finish ahead of them.
  15. There are tens of millions of people who live in this country, some of whom are absolutely fine and dandy, some of whom are alright, and some of whom are ****, and in all categories some of whom are crap with money. Cost of living and busy shopping streets aren't mutually exclusive. I've no doubt a few of those strapped for cash aren't being completely sensible with what they have,... Annnyyyyyywaaaay..... Muppets Christmas Carol at the weekend, lovely stuff. Inside a month to christmas so that counts.
  16. goal-filled draw at a guess. Can't see spurs losing 3 in a row, and our away form still needs work on it. Obviously, we need to not start incredibly slowly and concede early on. If it's still 0-0 after half an hour or so I'll feel more confident of more than a point, but not sure how people can be quite so dismissive of Spurs even with their missing players.
  17. Film wise, we start generally with the general nostalgia films I.e. 80s /90 action comedies etc then aim to get increasingly Christmas as we go. This year, as I've not seen Its A Wonderful Life for a few years we've booked in to an Everyman showing on the 22nd Dec really looking forward to that. Trying to persuade my wife to give Gremlins a go at some point. She doesnt like "horror" or things that aren't real, I.e. a gizmo. It's infuriating because it makes no sense. She enjoys watching the TV series Supernatural, Buffy and the Marvel films. Because those are definitely real.
  18. Tree has gone up this afternoon. First round of Xmas music playing too. Splendid! Now watching True Lies.
  19. nothing wrong with that goal, wasn't interfering with play.
  20. and another. Rice over that saudi apologist from now on please
  21. god what a terrible half of football again. **** maguire and henderson against **** malta. **** off
