  3. Now this is funny.... Click for report in todays Birmingham Mail. There is a funny video to watch. and he has said he used to be a Villa fan !!!!! What a dime bar.... A die-hard Blues fan has been warned that Birmingham City memorabilia in the window of his home could trigger vandalism. Barry Evans’ landlord fears the array of scarves, banners and pictures could prove a magnet for yobs, a court was told this week. The ledge is also decorated with photographs of Elvis and a large Birmingham City FC towel hangs from an upstairs window of Barry’s Sparkhill home. The Blues bust-up came to light at a First Tier Property Tribunal where landlord Adalat Khan sought approval to increase Barry’s rent by £40 a week. Barry's love for Birmingham City is evident from his windows Birmingham City and Elvis fan Barry Evans from Sparkhill. The disabled 47-year-old currently pays £107, and the tribunal will make a decision at a later date. Barry divides his loyalty between his beloved football club and Elvis – something reflected in the property’s decor. He is currently attempting to legally change his name to Elvis Presley. “Actually, I’ve got all the paperwork,” he says. “But if I sign, ‘Elvis Aron Presley’, on one document, I’ve got to sign it on all of them. “The King has been with me since I was born. He’s great.” The downstairs window mirrors the two loves of Barry’s life and is nothing if not eye-catching. The curtain is a Blues flag, there are three Elvis LP covers, three photos of the rock and roll legend, a foot-high Spiderman model and a wooden elephant. There's no doubt who Barry Evans supports - just look at his windows The living room is dominated by a 6ft poster of the Beautiful South album cover, Blue Is The Colour. Barry has used his artistic skills to turn the boy in the image into a Bluenose. At Christmas, the two-bedroomed terrace is festooned in blue fairy-lights. “The binmen love it,” says Barry. “They’re all Blues fans. “It’s a laugh. I’m having the craic. The house reflects the way I am. I don’t want to leave and see it painted magnolia.” A letter sent to Barry by Mr Khan’s solicitor stated: ”The concern is that you are displaying material that might trigger vandalism to the property by people passing by.” And Mr Khan told tribunal judge Paul Ellis: “The tenant should have laced curtains instead of soccer memorabilia, which detracts from the value of properties in the area. He should also have permission to keep animals.” Barry has two dogs at the house – Jack Nasty Face and Zippy, both greyhounds. The recovering alcoholic insists that they help him in his battle with bipolar disorder. He has objected to the rent rise and says the hike will mean he has to move out of the St Andrew’s shrine. Barry, speaking after the hearing, told the Sunday Mercury: “When I moved into the property in 1993, I paid only £60-a-week rent. “I just cannot afford any more rent. If the tribunal approves the increase then I shall have to move out. “Apart from criticising me for having football memorabilia in the window, the solicitor’s letter also made comments about the condition of my home. “It is all wrong because I have spotless accommodation.” And Barry confessed to a bombshell – he actually used to be a Villa fan until he was 11. “Then I went to a Blues match and found the atmosphere much better,” he explains. “I was hooked.”
  4. he's about as mobile as 'The Angel of The North' imo he is not very good at all, even at this level
  5. all involved punished to a thousand lines... i must try harder, this is Aston Villa. I must play for the team, i must play for the fans, i must play for the badge. I will not hide. I will work harder. I will. Oh, and Richards, Okore, Hutton, Gestede, Gardener, Bacuna, Westwood, Cissokho go and stand in the corner for the whole season.
  6. i for one am not convinced and i am not just saying this because we are losing against Luton. Look at the evidence/facts... 1, Top CEO's from top business do not take to twitter like its a toy. Some of the stuff he is coming out with on there is frankly embarrassing. 2, If he is really serious and has the capital and serious funds the launch the club to another level, signings would have been made and the dross players would have been bombed out by now. After all, money talks. Look at Man City as an example. The Sheiks came in spent money, big money and just did the business to put them to another level. No Twitter crap, not big promises, they just didi it. At the moment it all feels like a big publicity stunt. I really really hope i am wrong, really wrong but i am not convinced. Talk is cheap.....action is what we need and pretty quick.
  7. not sure if this should be posted in the 'The complete and utter chants' thread or what, but here goes anyway. To the tune of knees up mother brown... we're not very good, we're not very good, we're not very, we're not very, we're not very good.....keep repeating until out of breath

  12. well the nation did vote to get out of Europe
  13. which is the team full of players from the so called 'worlds best' league full of highly paid superstars.... the team in white or blue?
  14. spot on...told it as it is....''front men were not good enough'' didnt create enough chances ''dont say you had all the possession against a team that didnt want the ball'' they could still be playing now and it would still be 0-0. Best performance of the night was the fans.
  15. It would be good if he were to buy the shits for a couple of bob. Change the name to Villa Heath, change the colours to claret and blue, change the badge to a lion sitting on top of a globe, knock the ground down and sell it to a shithouse paper manufacturer or pig farmer, sell all the players to some Russian salt mine, bring in Villa academy players and play in the academy league behind closed doors at Bodymoor...... or better still just wind them down and wipe them out of existence.
  16. A few days ago i was saying to Mrs Imavillan ''why have we not planned a holiday around this? It would have been good to be part of the atmosphere" After watching/reading many of the reports.....boy oh boy am i glad we didnt. Some of the scenes are unbelievable. Its like a war zone....click here to watch and see for yourself no way would i want to be in a situation like that !!!!
  17. Sir, sorry to correct you, however replace should with when.....as, if Mr Xia delivers it will only be a matter of time
  18. fit and proper test passed according to John Percy in the Telegraph Aston Villa’s £75 million takeover by Dr Tony Xia is expected to finally go through early next week, the Telegraph can reveal. Xia will meet with Football League officials in London on Monday to agree the deal and is set to be confirmed as Villa’s new owner after providing “compelling evidence” of funds. The Chinese businessman has passed the required owner and directors’ test and the Premier League and Football League are both satisfied that he is fit and proper to complete the buy-out from Randy Lerner. Randy Lerner has agreed to sell Aston Villa CREDIT: AFP Xia’s financial muscle had been called into question due to concerns over past business dealings but he has provided clear proof of funds, both for the forthcoming season and even the next. Keith Wyness, the former Everton chief executive, will be part of the restructured board and is expected to have a major role. It is understood that Steve Hollis, the current Villa chairman, was heavily involved in the prolonged negotiations with both governing bodies but will depart later this month. Aston Villa is being bought for £75 million CREDIT: PA With Xia’s takeover set to be approved next week, new manager Roberto di Matteo and assistant Steve Clarke will be officially unveiled shortly after. Di Matteo was appointed last week after being headhunted by Xia, with Clarke and Kevin Bond completing a strong managerial set-up at the relegated club. The former Chelsea manager has been out of work since leaving Schalke in May 2015 but is enthused by the challenge of reviving the former European Cup winners. Roberto di Matteo will be the new Villa manager CREDIT: PA He will be assured of around £30 million in funds to strengthen the squad, though Villa are currently focusing on moving out their unwanted players. Villa are preparing for the Championship after a disastrous season in which they finished bottom after recording only three league wins. Tim Sherwood and Remi Garde both left the club during the course of the campaign yet Lerner’s departure and Xia’s subsequent takeover has provided fans with hope of a brighter future.
  19. IF YOU SAY SO.... more loyal, sensitive and protective the Villa family i would say....
