  1. I'm hopefully seeing it on Saturday. I'm not much of a Star Wars fan though, not that I dislike the series I'm just not terribly invested in it, which I think might mean while the diehard fans are orgasming in their seats from the get go I'll be enjoying the visuals... I'll understand it perfectly
  2. There was a similar chart just around the referendum which basically showed your average man on the street heavily assumed things were 'worse' than they actually are in almost any facet you could ask him about.
  3. Could be spectacular. Accepting Nolan's faults . Dunkirk is an interesting choice for a war film, given it's basically a defeat history has packaged as a triumph (and in many ways it was... But it's still an embarrassment at heart). Looking forward to it. Good trailer.

    Global Warming

I get the feeling that of thus topic was about global warning being woman made there would be less traffic in it. I guess it is really. No bloody wimmin, less gases, more ice caps.
  5. I don't think its that bad. There's been glaring mistakes but Norwich aren't dominating the match at all. A bit sharper and a bit more urgency and we look good.
  6. Working hard and look confident, but a lot of hopeless passing. Not sure Gabby has had a touch. Grealish looks keen to push things forward, Ayew.. Er. Kodjia can't control the ball. Isn't quite working.
  7. More likely to work in packs than sharks? More seriously, we do have exceptionally good intelligence services. That they do such a good job should ask questions about how much more power they truly need, the people that are catching out aren't masterminds. Of course theres an element of luck as well, we could be blindsided by a truly lone wolf unknown to us at any moment, but there's little anyone can do about that.
  8. It's hard to find something that's very, very small... Even with tiny tiny hands.
  9. The ongoing saga with his business interests is hilarious. Last week he's leaving it totally (pull the other one), this week his delaying a statement to explain exactly how he will do that for a month. You'd be a heinous cynic to think accountants and lawyers are running around trying to work out exactly how he can leave it all totally and also not leave it really at all. Presumably that'll include the hundreds of Russian businesses he forgot about and totally doesn't, and never has, have. Utter farce. And he's not even in office yet!
  10. The Remain campaign was quite happy to paint the absolute worst case scenario, but I don't think it out and out lied like Leave did. And proudly too. They won awards for their lies (I'm not kidding). In fairness to the Remain campaign, the figures I've seen recently for work are sobering for the next few years. We're in somewhat of a phoney war at the moment, the markets jumpy at anything whilst nothing actually happens. Things will start to solidify one we actually see what deal we'll get. A truly 'hard' Brexit is going to unpleasant, but whatever we get, unless this whole shebang is to get a Norway deal (snigger), it's going to hurt once it hits.
  11. Was the British government queuing up to spend that money on the Welsh? I don't think they were. Or will be in future. Whether that money was originally pounds or euros when the Welsh get it, they're given it to improve their region. You'll forgive me for not believing Westminster would have spent, or will, that cash in a similar way.
  12. There non-economic points of principle that might make someone chose to vote leave - migration, arguments of democratic deficit, etc etc. If I were Welsh and had those issues I'd probably hold my nose and take the benefit for the 'downside', given how much Wales benefits, but that's for then to decide. I'd be surprised if Wales was better off in 10 years, all in all. But their choice.
  13. The students thing is particularly moronic. They pay through the nose, they spend while they're here, they walk away with some British influence in them which tomorrow might help our 'soft power' exert it's muscles. Idiots. All because they can't think of a better way of sticking to a immigration target they set themselves and because they view every international student as a faker looking to sneak in and vanish.
  14. Rogue One first impressions are out. Apparently it's a barnstormer. Those reshoots must have been, against all expectations, good
  15. Watched Spotlight earlier. A worthy subject and supremely well plotted, acted, edited and shot. Absolutely gripping and damning in its mundane simplicity of showing how easily evil can be allowed to thrive in the open. Recommended. Especially if you are a church going Catholic.
  16. AA Gill. Much like that baboon, he now knows what it's like to die.
  17. Calling card of a manager who's out of ideas again. At least Bruce actually has some wins behind him before he did it.
  18. Getting an email at 4.55 on a Friday that has prompted a Saturday morning and early afternoon of scrambling back through emails and recalled events from months ago I now can't take my mind of.
  19. You'd get decent odds, at least. If by decent you mean long. Unfortunately, he is going to be President. A position he's stunningly unsuitable for, but he will be. Perhaps not for long.
  20. I don't think Rugeley has actually put much thought into anything and/or is being more than a little disingenuous.
  21. Tbf with the Ancient One they were dammed whatever they did. Cast an old East Asian dude and it's basically a bit racist, change the part and at best you annoy the fans, at worst it's 'white washing' or 'PC casting' or whatever. For reasonably inconsequential characters I don't mind changing things. The Ancient One works whatever way you spin it with a decent actor, etc etc. On the other hand Parker should be a white high school kid, Black Panther has to be a black guy, Cap has to be a blonde Yank, etc. The casting in Homecoming... It just doesn't matter really. There are some notable names in Spiderman canon of his friends but pretty much none of them are relevant enough to matter with some race changing. Even ones like Flash Thompson who got their own time in the spotlight... There's no reason that character should remain white, they aren't important enough to matter.
  22. I don't want to imagine a world where a child enjoys No Man's Sky.
