Excellent news. Currently our best defender by some distance right now. Carlos may shine next season and show his worth but we’d have been foolish not to secure Mings on a longer deal. Yes he has a mistake in him but I still maintain that there aren’t many better left sided CB’s in this league right now, certainly not english. It’s madness that he doesn’t have more international caps.

First off, I actually thought we could win or get something at Man City but without Mings we were never going to keep a clean sheet or win the game. Even without Mings, a few were certainly off the pace last weekend and some changes to freshen up the side would be welcome - Cash or Young, Moreno or Digne, McGinn or Ramsey, Coutinho or Buendia, Duran or Bailey? These being the most likely. We’ve got to start quickly and perhaps attack the Holte End again first half. It’s seems to have served us well recently. In addition, if we did start Duran, imagine the crowd would really get behind him and he could run himself into the ground for 60 minutes. Absolutely and equally as tragic but I was referring to a situation specific to the thread.

Whatever has happened, whatever the outcome, there are two little girls at the heart of all this that just want to see their mummy again. As a parent, just breaks my heart to think how they’re doing right now. It’s so sad.

Agree. We perhaps could have looked at a Craig Dawson or Ben Mee type as a stop gap in the last window, but didn’t. Without Mings, we’re awful at the back right now. We certainly have a mentality issue against certain sides or when we concede.

We lost the game before we even kicked off today. Player mentality is all wrong. Perhaps Mings missing rocked us but we shouldn’t be so reliant on one man at the back. We huff and puff but in truth we’re not really laying a glove on them and that’s the most disappointing part of this.

It feels like all the media and basically the world are going to have eyes on this one.
