  1. Like I said, Sanson and the DM with Buendia as the AM in a 4-2-3-1
  2. So Watkins or Ings doesn't play. Like I said, good problems to have!
  3. I think Sanson will prove to be better than McGinn in CM. Where do you put Buendia if not CM then, on the RW? So you don't play Bailey? All bloody great problems to have
  4. I actually think we'll see McGinn miss out as the season progresses. I can see Sanson and Buendia as the two CM's in a 4-3-3 with Nakamba/Luiz/New DM sitting behind them, switching to Sanson and the DM with Buendia as the AM in a 4-2-3-1 I'm currently having a lot of fun playing around with an online formation builder which is helping me deal with the loss of you know who
  5. By way of a reminder on what Sanson brings to the midfield...
  6. $100m + $10.4m wages p.a. is a shit ton of moolah though innit. I think the correct commercial decision is to take the cash, I don't know the quantum of jack's merch/sponsorship value though...
  7. Seen a few comments regarding the financial side as a counter to this point with talk of the amount of merchandise and sponsorship revenue we would likely miss out on by letting him go.
  8. I mean, did we think that Man City weren't going to bid for him or something? That's actually all that has happened to date correct?
  9. "Medical expected next week". I'm sure it is at Man City's end but that is surely still conditional on Aston Villa coming to an agreement with Man City to sell him. I personally don't believe for one second that an agreement was reached weeks ago and still have hope that Aston Villa will not sell. It is concerning that Man City have supposedly put the $100m bid forward, but I choose to believe that this has been encouraged by Jack's agent rather than Aston Villa.
  10. Could Tuanzebe be brought in as a "project" player as noted above by weedman for the defensive midfield role? Seem to remember him being rather composed on the ball, appreciate the links with him are probs bullshit and his injury record ain't great but just a thought...
  11. Englishman born in Australia living in NZ here
  12. This. Get him in. Competition for places, let them fight it out for first eleven. It's a win win isn't it?
  13. Shiver me timbers this is a good write up.... https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2021/jun/22/voodoo-jack-casts-his-spell-to-make-the-difference-for-england more on link
  14. Was there a specific injury that he's recently had or is it more of a case that he's seen as an injury-prone player?
  15. Play him up front, Jack left, Trez right, Nakamba, SJM and Hourihane/Dougie in the middle.
  16. Anwar should be dropped for the Arsenal game due to a lack of form and Jack moved into his position, but this won't happen so here's to hoping he improves his form, scores or creates something and gains confidence.
  17. Can't remember which website it was but someone did a really good analysis of wesley's strengths when we signed him, and it wasn't headers! He's very good at dropping deep, retaining posession, spreading the ball wide, sprinting into the box, pulling front post defender out of position before nipping in front to finish a low front post cross. It's all about timing and having a winger or full back able to beat his man. It'll come.
  18. 3 at the back with wing backs anyone?
  19. See posts above. All loan players, only one of which at the time of writing that we've been able to convert to a permanent signing.
