  1. I assumed it was to represent Aston?
  2. Was there a specific injury that he's recently had or is it more of a case that he's seen as an injury-prone player?
  3. Play him up front, Jack left, Trez right, Nakamba, SJM and Hourihane/Dougie in the middle.
  4. Anwar should be dropped for the Arsenal game due to a lack of form and Jack moved into his position, but this won't happen so here's to hoping he improves his form, scores or creates something and gains confidence.
  5. Can't remember which website it was but someone did a really good analysis of wesley's strengths when we signed him, and it wasn't headers! He's very good at dropping deep, retaining posession, spreading the ball wide, sprinting into the box, pulling front post defender out of position before nipping in front to finish a low front post cross. It's all about timing and having a winger or full back able to beat his man. It'll come.
  6. 3 at the back with wing backs anyone?
  7. See posts above. All loan players, only one of which at the time of writing that we've been able to convert to a permanent signing.
  8. Feels more and more like a waiting game unfortunately. I'm just glad that we've got people running things now who also realise this. We'll get who we need eventually I have no doubt.
  9. I reckon this is spot on. We're Aston Villa a Premier League club, but we can't (yet) afford to poach other Premier League club's top talent and (thank McGrath) gone are the days of signing aged players with ”Premier League experience“ looking for a final payday. If there were any young Premier League players with enough quality or potential to play for us, then their club isn't going to want to let them go I wouldn't have thought unless on loan, so who does that leave us with as a potential source of new signings?

Not sure how, but I ended up having us finishing in 15th when going through the BBC's predictor thingy. I pretty much just put us down for a loss against any team in the top 6 or 7, a draw if playing away against anybody else and a win at home against anybody say 8th and below. QPR, Wigan and Southampton to go down.
