  1. "What is happening in Muslim lands" There is a millennia old fight going on between the agents of two competiting sides of the same coin, that would exist whether the west had invaded Iraq or whether Israel existed, and would even exist albeit in less aggressive form if KSA wasn't sat on billions of hydrocarbons.
  2. It's one of the strange quirks of how society has modernised, yet people still clutch to the implausible. If you were to hear that a man had been spending quite a bit of time in a cave and that he was going around saying he had been visited by the angel Gabriel, or if you'd been told by your old mate Moses that a burning bush had told you to follow him off into the desert or you had heard that somebody was proclaiming themselves to be the son of god, then you would feel sympathy and hope that they receive the medical care they need to treat what would hopefully be only episodic schizophrenia. Instead these men are revered and plenty have been willing to die in their name or the voice of the message from God that only they, coincidentally, have been hearing.
  3. Over a three year contract, Sinclair would cost at least £7.8 million, before you include employers NI and pension contributions. That's a lot of money for a player who may not work out and be difficult to move on.
  4. He will be on a big wage at Man City and likely has no reason to see it drop, as he may as well see out his contract up there. We shouldn't be paying the likes of Sinclair £45,000 per week either, so I guess it comes down to how much Man City want him gone and whether they're going to pay off a portion of his contract.
  5. Early reports that the three suspects have been caught.
  6. One poster mentioned Mohammed's responses to insults framed in a hirstorical context of turning the other cheek. AWOL pointed out that it's a bit of an historical fallacy, which as far as I can see is relevant when you have men still looking to violently impose their ideas on others. I am not really sure how brining up other events in history lessens the point, when nobody is suggesting that Islam is unique in this? If you wanted to have historical debates about the papacy or the intentions of the crusades, Ottomon conquests or US foreign policy, then I am sure if you started a thread, people would contribute. Your being defensive and I am not sure why?
  7. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I am not sure what you're talking about when you say "stoop to my level"? Of you disagree with what I have said or think my history is incorrect, then I'd prefer you to debate the issue.
  8. He kinda did though, once he had the numbers. Islam was spread at the point of a sword (convert or die) by a bunch of psychotic Arab Bedouin who the Sheikhs wisely thought would be less trouble expressing their talents as far away from home as possible. A glimpse at modern Saudi Arabia reveals that little has changed in that regard. Don't mistake me as being anti-Muslim, I'm not. I do dislike the pussy footing around historical truths that occurs in order to avoid giving offence. Cartoons are what they are. Cartoons. There is no death penalty for non-muslims for drawing a cartoon. Your depiction of history has nothing to do with it. I hate it when attacks like today is used to attack Islams and Muslims as a religion and group. Anyway, here is my interpretation of what you wrote. It has as little to do with today's attacks as your veiled attack on Muslims as a group. Christianity was spread at the point of a sword (convert or die) by a bunch of psychotic Englishmen who the Kings wisely thought would be less trouble expressing their talents as far away from home as possible. A glimpse at modern USA reveals that little has changed in that regard. Don't mistake me as being anti-Christian, I'm not. I do dislike the pussy footing around historical truths that occurs in order to avoid giving offence. I am not sure what you're objecting at? The historical reality is that Mohammed was able to use a monotheistic idea to create a "supertribe" from his ummah that was capable militarily of conquering his neighbours. "Strive, O Prophet against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and deal with them firmly. Their final abode is Hell; And what a wretched destination". A strong message, which was violently executed with some aplomb. This is what AWOL is rightly pointing out, that it is a religion spread through violence. Mohammed's ummah and the supertribe brought together carried this out literally as did the successors. The Sassanid capital of Ctesiphon in 637, Persepolis in 648, Nishapur in 651, Kabul in 664, Samarkand in 710, in the Eastern Empire, Damascus and Antioch in 635, Alexandria 642, Carthage 698. That is the historical reality.
  9. It seems that 2 masked gunmen have stormed the offices of French magazine, Charlie Hebdo and have murdered at least 11 people, including apparently two policemen.
  10. I think they'd struggle to score against us. They looked very much like a 2nd division outfit when Liverpool pushed them over in the League Cup. Its one thing tea bagging second division rubbish like Small Heath and quite another coming up against top flight defenders. I doubt they'd have played a side as well organised defensively as us, while them coming to play a little, may make it more likely we'll score.
  11. I'm not sure. Soldiers wearing uniform armour, standing in uniform formations will make for repetition. I thought the Orcs looked noticable more ragged than the Dwarves and Elves. As for the series, its very enjoyable. Doesn't hit the heights of the Lord of the Rings, but its very entertaining nonetheless.
  12. Maybe the Lizard Squad should put some time and energy into something positive instead, such as losing their virginity?
  13. If you enjoyed Skyrim, would you enjoy this game?
  14. Around 67-68% of Defendants plead guilty.
  15. Having read the letter, I was under the impression that it was not a legal possibility for UKGov to make a person stateless? Surely then he has a passport of another state to travel on? It seems he is suggesting Mi6 tried to recruit him in Cairo, but the timeline is hazy. He attends a wedding in 2009 yet is still in country to be allegedly stripped of citizenship in 2011? It would be interesting to see this yarn cross examined.
  16. I thought the whole narrative was well executed and I particularly like how the he people tended to be the biggest monsters. The story is linear, but it gives you free reign to execute a particular section how you want too. I am not sure I can agree that the story isn't important. If you don't have an interesting narrative behind what you're doing, then the gameplay is pointless. If John Marston wasn't so well fleshed out then RDR wouldn't be a quarter of the game it is, with such a great ending.
  17. Nah not really. We're talking about a specific and indervidual fear. If somebody knew what I was doing when I was 11, then I wouldn't be concerned about being mistaken for another. I don't have the limitations of Islamic naming traditions (although I do have a rare name shared by Christians, Jews and Muslims!) to share Omar's specific flagging in this instance. My passport did get rejected in Cairns in the summer, unfortunately they didn't detain me in country indefinitely. Back to Omar, if it was information beyond what was possible to know from travel records, then I'd certainly find that hinky.
  18. If they already knew all about you, how would they mistake you for somebody else?
  19. Yep, it was truly fantastic and comfortably one of the best games I've ever played. There isn't another game out there with such depth to be relationship between the characters. Looking forward to having another stab at it on the PS4.
  20. http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~4369641,00.html "Our away allocation for the clash with Leicester is now sold out. The match takes place on January 10 at the King Power Stadium, with a 3pm kick off. We are taking 3300 fans for the Midlands derby match. Paul Lambert will be hoping for another positive result over the Foxes following the recent 2-1 win at B6"
  21. We had the full 3300 in the end.

I have got this as part of a bundle for Christmas and was looking to trade it in before playing it, but having read a few of the most recent comments and seen that video, I think I may just keep it!
  23. The Villa Rose is usually popular, which is in the middle of the Jewellry Quarter by the clock island. If you're stopping in the city centre, then you can jump on a tram at Snow Hill station up to the JQ or you can alternatively walk. If you do walk, then still head to Snow Hill, but walk down the left hand side of the station down Livery Street. You will go past a pub called the Old Contemptables, which is a nice one too. They do great sausage and mash in there. You'll need to walk under the main road and up the hill on the otherside. You can either angle left through St Pauls or turn left at the College of Law. From the JQ, you can either get the tram to the Hawthorns or the train to the same station.

    Paul Lambert

Last season at Stamford Bridge we were robbed, but scored 1 and conceded two. This year we shipped three. Have we got better or worse? I think the other variables of Costa and Fabregas are the real important points behind these glib "facts".
