    im still confused about our transfer strategy. I was under the impression that the Houllier years would see us scouring europe for talent. Nearly all our links so far are 'MON' signings.

    I completely agree with him. But who says we haven't got more eggs?? also agree with Stan to an extent. I think our team could have benefitted from a more round improvement. I also thought that overpaid englishmen were a thing of the past? If 24m is all were spending then im not sure Darren Bent is the answer.

    Collymore has previously slated Bent publicly. Would be difficult for him to go back on that.

    sunderland in a difficult position now. An unhappy player, a big money offer, everything out in the public. I cant see anyone else matching our bid.

    GH only said about a week ago that we wouldnt be buying a striker. Managers tell lies. On a day where out of the blue we have made a 24m bid i dont think we can rule out selling Downing. While id love to see him stay i think we need Bent more right now than we need Downing. If we need to sell 1 to get another than id be in favour of that.

    Would very it depending on opponents. Could see all three scenarios working well though i have concerns for Gabby, GH doesnt see to like sticking him upfront. Bringing in a new striker means hes less likely to play there.

    I support Houllier, but to be honest that really is a baffling decision...makes absolutely no sense to me at all. I thought the most common sensical thing to do would be to play the players in there natural positions! the only sense i can make of it is to help out Clark at left back. When playing on the wing Gabby really puts in a shift, tracks well and still has the pace to support the front man. Would much rather see him as an out and out striker though.

    still a lot to prove for me. Not sure he can play with Gabby either. Think he needs the foil of a big man.

    impressive from Hendrie, hasnt played for villa for a few years yet still somehow managing to get out on the piss with the players.

    id probably go along with Dunne as MOTM or Collins.

    good performances all round for me. Though Carew was effective and dangerous despite not playing for a while. Good to see him putting effort in and chasing down defenders. Still think we'd be a stronger side with Warnock, Clark is really growing on me though not a left back. Great character to come back and we looked much more solid at the back. Thanks Agent Ridgewell.

    sorry Gazton but its not a huge loss, his performances have been poor and the manager doesnt want to play him. Like him or not theres no point in him being here.

    i didnt renew this year because i found i couldnt attend every game. Consequently ive hardly been at all this year. Little to do with the football and more to do with i just cant bring myself to to spend £30 - £40 a ticket plus travel etc when i can just sit at home and watch most of the games on sky.

    cheeky shit.. lower doug has some of the best seats in the ground. apologies if you sit there. I took some offer tickets in the DE lower for the west brom games. The offer sits were near to the front in the corner near the holte end. Your view was restricted to the far goal by the standing. Just explaining to those comparing ticket offers with ST seats that it is probably not an eggs for eggs comparison.

    My mate has the same outlook on it as you ROT. He reckons he will be quids in by taking advantage of all the multi-buy deals that Villa offer throughout the season. you wont be, you'll win on the odd games but if you intend to go to every game you'll pay more. A lot of the offers are also in poorer areas of the ground, north stand lower, doug ellis lower.

    can anyone recommend a good keyboard app type thing. I tried swype but didnt like it and cant seem to get on with the HTC keyboard.

    mine is in 3 months. My best mate is sorting it and i havent even got a clue where were going. pretty scared.

    i think my battery wasnt as bad as first expected. Had one day at work when it was dead by home time and another when i had about 80% battery remaining. Both days id done very little on it. I think it may be something to do with changing between a 2g and 3g signal a lot as were right on a cut off area.

    you can keep saying it but it doesnt makie it right. Didnt look like the players wanted to play under him against Stoke and Newcastle. Wouldnt improve us, would just make us a joke.

    todays question, the battery life on my HTC desire HD is shocking. It was fully charged last night and now has less than half the battery left. I have made one 15 minute phone call and been on the internet a handful of times.

    thanks for the reply, enjoyed the swype link. feel a bit of an idiot now but had just been trying to find it through the market place. Is this a common thing, i had previously used an iphone so everything was available through itunes.
