  1. I've got a "my mates builder saw..." rumour. Going to post it anyway on the absolute off chance it's true: Connor Wickham.

    Paul Lambert

Starting to lose faith. If we stay up - which I think we will - he gets until Xmas for me. If it's looking like another relegation battle then that would be time to change.
  3. I See the Carroll thing is getting silly now... Let's say West Ham do get the ban put on hold, he goes on to play v us then Norwich, scores in both games which sees them avoid relegation. Then the court of arbitration or whoever find in The FAs favour... Won't there be another court case for the team who loses out?
  4. Why not report the clearing in the woods and make sure he doesn't darken B6 again?
  5. Have to say Martinez is changing my opinion of him at Everton. Didn't get the Wigan hype, but think he's doing a great job at Everton. Be interesting to see how they get on v Man U this week.

    Corners

Long time browser, occasional poster, never a topic starter. So, how bad are we at corners? We do the same thing time, time, time again with absolutely no joy whatsoever. Westwood floated chip to the back post for someone to (fail miserably) to attack. Benteke had joy twice last season from these (Sunderland and Reading) but that was about it. I love Lambert, but this baffles me.
  7. I think the issue with Levy may be that he has been worked out a little. People are more used to his way of working and set themselves up as a complete barrier (us with our deadline, the Soldado transfer being "pay this, or forget it.")
  8. Brilliant watch... Begin to get behind his mentality and perhaps an insight into his ambition. Great show.

    Relegation

Out of all weekend fixtures I can't think of any other team I'd want Wigan to be playing on Tues. The form team in the league, at home, with their own pot of gold to play for. Perhaps United away in Fergies last home game, but no other.

Arsenal aren't doing us a favour. They have a chance to get champions league football, which is there ultimate aim each season. They have enough reasons of their own to want to win.

Lots of teams have been to/won cup finals and got relegated in the same season, could happen again.

Additionally, can get odds of 120/1 for a Wigan, Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle four-fold. Highlighted those as they all really need to win tomorrow/Tuesday to be able to finish above us. Can't see many points for any of them last game (us, Spurs away, Arsenal at home and City away). Those odd are far more generous than the 40/1 outright relegation we're showing with skybet.

9/1 on a Wigan win with Betfair. Again, if you think it's going to happen worth making them misery better with a £10 bet!
  14. Always thought that if he managed to wrestle the title back off City he should retire. For all his faults you have to admire what he's achieved. Incredible if true!

You would have thought so, but the worrying thing is that if... Sunderland beat Stoke, Wigan beat Swansea, Stoke beat Spurs, Norwich beat WBA; Newcastle win at QPR; Southampton win or draw at Sunderland; Wigan win at Arsenal, Norwich win at Man City, Newcastle beat Arsenal, Southampton beat Stoke, Sunderland win at Spurs, Fulham get 3 points or more off Liverpool and Swansea, and Wigan beat Villa we could still be relegated on goal difference even if we beat Chelsea 8-0. I’m an absolute nervous wreck just thinking about how easily this could happen... And if my aunty had a dick she'd be my uncle. Your comment of how easily this coud happen is ludicrous. If it was easy we'd all be down the bookies to get the 10,000 to 1 they'd be offering on getting those 15 results correct Has everyone completely missed the irony of the post? I know it's the interweb and all, but seriously, think before you type!!

I'm not a bookie, but would guess that your 13/1 is way out. I'd be surprised if it's less than 3 figures... Edit: beaten to it.
  17. I'm with those slightly uncomfortable about the whole thing. There are clearly some wrong'uns and the law has caught up with them (well not in the case of Saville, but he can burn in hell!) but the likes of Barlow and Rolf? Something a bit more murky about it.

Think we've gotten away with one there. Would have snatched your hand off for it to finish 3-0 at half time. 2nd half gives us something to cling onto. They slowed but we pressed and hassled well. Would start the Sunderland game with the team that finished tonight

Now spending far to much of my time staring at the premier league table, working out various combinations of results and establishing what impact such combinations have on our survival. Concluded that is so, so unpredictable (and suppose it didn't take a genius to work that out!) now just going to try and chill out and enjoy the ride. We're playing well, scoring goals and haves chance, which is more than I thought we'd have at the end of Jan when I didn't think we'd win another game.

UTD do have a tendency to have at least one shocker per season at old Trafford (Blackburn last year). Don't recall one this season? Can but hope!

Not the best result for us, but what about the impact on Newcastle? 2 points above us, Sunderland & Stoke...
  22. The opposition don't have a shot on goal and we still can't keep a clean sheet. So bloody frustrating.

Realistically, we have 12 points that we can gain (Chelsea is winnable). 1 win and 2 draws sees us safe I think.
  24. Could go one of 2 ways for them now. The either implode, shocked by all the additional stick they're getting over this appointment or the siege mentality will kick in. Not sure which it will be, but a big part of the fanbase isn't happy so it may not take them long to turn against him.
  25. 18 'gettable' points (writing off utd away). We have to be able to muster at least 50% of those to give ourselves a chance. I think we'll manage 3 more wins and a draw.
