  1. Not really. We currently need Wigan to do worse than us. We are in the relegation zone and Wigan have a game in hand. Our faith is not in our hands. It is in our own hands though. Sunderland are 1 point above us and we play each other. We beat them and match there haul over 6 other games we stay up. It's entirely in our hands.
  2. Dion Dublin - he doesn't score many with his head. Most of his 'big' goals which I can remember have been with his head!
  3. I think he deserves huge credit. Yes, he led us through a very dark period and undoubtedly made some big mistakes during that. But he is slowly put surely pulling us out of it. When we find our feet in a game we play some very good stuff. It is inevitable given the age of the squad that we're going to wobble both for spells in a season and spells in a game. If we stay up we will be so much stronger for it and I think we're building something quite exciting, or at least a little different, from the traditional spending approach which we have seen in the past and elsewhere. I also don't see how keeping us up cannot be viewed as an achievement. Have the last 2 years and the total rebuild not just happened? I think if he keeps us up having built this team f youngsters he deserves huge credit and, as said a second ago, sets us up nicely for next season.
  4. Holte lower, L2 around row s. scumbags of the highest order. You know the sort... All shouting various things and trying to start the most vile songs to get a rise from one of their equally cretinous friends. Just one part of a very sorry night.
  5. We have some absolute imbecile supporters. I have never been surrounded by a bitters group of a grade dickheads in my life. From talking about (seriously) us having a bigger firm than Bradford, giving them a kicking, travelling to Millwall next week for a ruck, through to trying to start songs or sing about the Bradford fire. If the football isn't enough to turn you away then paying money to be surrounded by a bunch of cretins certainly is. God, how depressing a trip to Villa park is.
  6. Put together on a shoe string, in the process of creating one of the youngest teams in our history, clearing out the deadwood, for a club that's been in a relegation battle for 3 years. Credit would be due. Those that can't see beyond the manager at the demise which has taken place at the club in the last few years are doing us no favours.

That's the other hope I'm clinging on to... There are signs we could be leaving our slump ( 2nd half last week, today) whilst other teams are getting dragged in (Newcastle, Norwich) I also think Southampton may have committed suicide with the managerial change. Just feeling a touch more optimistic today.
  8. Have we forgotten that we've been in a relegation battle for 3 seasons now? A manager isn't going to change it in 6 months and needs time.

Just had a look on comments here to see if they match my views... I am really heartened by this evening. Although inexcusable to lose 2 points from that position, I thought we were a tad unlucky. We have zero breaks of the ball. Yes we are defending poorly at times but we never seem to get the fortunate bounce in the box at either end. We are due some! We looked decent going forward and had goals in us. We were never massively threatened from open play which much better. And despite this run and all the doom and gloom we still just about have our heads above water. Without question a win would've been massive, but a bit of hope has been restored when last week i thought we were as good as down.
  10. Fantastic retirement statement also. No holds barred, well worth a read.

During the last 2 season I have remained cinvinced that we'd always just about scrape survival. This time I really am not sure. We look like a team who could go the rat of the season without winning a game. The positives I can take are: - we're by no means adrift and teams down there are as bad as we are - we seem to be creating chances and if we start converting then we will pick up some points - we have had absolutely no breaks whatsoever. We get no lucky bounces of the ball, bad officiating (I know you make your own luck, but...) - Dunne and Vlaar returning could provide the leadership we're lacking - by all accounts we made a good fist of it today, 2nd half in particular I'm pinning my hopes on these few things running in our favour.
  12. Based on tonight's game, easy to see us scoring at least a couple at villa park. Also easy to see them scoring as well. Will make for a cracking tie, that's for sure. Unwanted distraction though as we have a bigger problem. How we could do with Stan in the centre of the park.

We got 4 points from those 3 games past season.
  14. I think it's pretty easy to compare Mcleish and Lamberts's records and establish that Lambert is streets ahead. He's mopping up 3 years of mismanagement and change isn't likely overnight. Unfortunately we're now in an era of short term fixes and knee jerk reactions... The modern football world. When you gave TV, radio and the Internet covering the game 24/7 it's inevitable. Give him the time he needs and I'm sure he'll keep us safe this season and begin to build in his way. I do think he has potential to get us a bit of momentum at some point this season which will see us pull clear. Momentum is something we haven't had in ages!
  15. One thing I don't get... Why go all of last season being shit and not acting and then go when it appears that you may be doing better?
  16. Have no idea how to link on my iPhone but type Jamie Pollock own goal into YouTube. Best ever. Gazza-esque!
  17. Spammers away then blue scouse at home. Tricky start

**** bucketed down now for a good hour or two. I went up to Victoria today and it was packed full of try-hard, Jubilee c*%ts with their flags and whatnot. Pathetic twunts. (Yes, I am a miserable word removed!) Yep, another one! The 'pathetic' label could be turned right around.

Fair play to you. Sure the sun must shine on you 24/7. Miserable so and so.

Don't see the issue with them and partularly the Queen. She has dedicated her life to representing this country. I wouldn't want her way of life for all the tea in China yet she has been an almost impeccable states person. As for the patronising 'Great Britain' argument... Think we all know exactly what was meant by the quip, but hey ho nothing like a bit of showing off eh!!
  21. I would be massively in favour of this. Think it would be a really good appointment. A little risky maybe but I like him and he has developed a strong reputation. I had an inkling when Mcleish got sacked that OGS would get the job and had a couple of quid at 20s. May end up wishing I'd gone higher!
  22. No way, we know you love the scum but get real. So you're telling me that Stephen Warnock is better than David Murphy? Stephen Warnock is terrible. But better than Murphy, who is slightly more terrible.
  23. As bad as we are, I just don't think we will lose 6 consecutive games (starting with Man U). We will sneak at least 2 more points which I think will be enough. By the skin of our teeth.
  24. IF... we get 2 more points (not beyond the realms of possibility) Blackburn will need to win 3 and draw 1 of there remaining games to go above us (ie. go unbeaten). QPR will need to win 2 and draw 2, or win 3 of there remaining 4 games to go above us. Seems unlikely but they make me so unconfident.
  25. Definitely a pad of the chest and a shout of "petrov" into the camera from Young when he was celebrating.
