Best I've come across are Dell Latitude series and of course Thinkpads. Both are made to last and well supported for drivers.

Yeah, I'm Swedish so shoot me. V50 and S80. The V50 is being replaced in about 3 months and I'm leaning towards a e-class if I can twist my employers arm hard enough.

Would screenr care if you are using 64 or 32 bit versions of java? Have you tried both? If you try to verify java in the browser you need the 32 bit one. Unless you made a very active download choice and picked a 64 bit browser
