I won’t bother dragging up the Yemen thread from ages ago, as what’s going to happen tonight is obviously linked to the broader Israel - Iran death match playing out across the region… However, bombing Ansarallah in Yemen really isn’t going to work in the way the people deciding to do it, think it will.

Dybala has missed 5 of 19 games this season through injury, has scored 5 and assisted 6. For 13 million or whatever it is we should be all over it imo, a brilliant option to have.

I love the speculation, especially as we know the club is actively looking to upgrade (at least) 3 outfield positions. It’s just not something to be worried about, imo - and that’s not directed at any individual poster.

So the plan is to shift out a RB/CB, a DM, and a wide forward ASAP, and then replace them. Three positions the VT hive mind has identified as needing either an upgrade or better quality cover. The targets to replace those players will already be identified, and the club will execute on the transfers when possible, either in this window or in the summer. Emery has been explicitly clear we wont buy for the sake of it, and come the summer we should be qualified for one of the two more prestigious European competitions, making us even more attractive to better players. I don’t understand what people are concerned about.

How do you know that the club is “choosing to not push on”? I mean, which hole have you pulled that statement from? You said yourself it’s only seven days into the window. Can we maybe leave the doomer nonsense until the 30th?

Given the scale of the owners ambitions, the focus and drive of Emery, and the urgency with which all parties are approaching their task, I cannot see the club putting up with a temperamental child. It’s a waste of resources and disruptive to the group if coaching staff have too much of their time consumed by non-football related problems. It’s not a crèche. If we can get our money back by selling him elsewhere then fair enough. Duran may go on to be a world beater, but if he’s not what we need in the here and now then show him the door and get someone in that we can rely on.

If Digne goes this window then it’s as part of a bigger plan. We’ll just have to make do with the Moreno - Ramsey combo that fans creamed themselves over last season. I’m excited to see what money-ball madness Emery and Monchi have planned over the next few windows, and I doubt he’ll be the only high profile exit.
