Geordies definitely having the best of it so far, stronger in midfield and our out ball to Diaby is failing because he can’t control a thing

When we still have the likes of Bertie and Coutinho stealing a living, this is even more frustrating.

Suppose it depends whether Unai sees JPB coming back in the summer.

Tielemans clearly regressed during his time out, may take a while to play himself back into some form again.

He’s already been bitten once by taking over after Wenger, doubt he’d do it again somewhere else.

I recommend the Geordie solicitors, Norfolk ‘n Chance.

Not having a go at anyone, it was general comment on the attitude in football. If you recognise yourself and think it’s directed at you then that’s nowt to do with me.

Pluck an unknown African from the French third division and you’re a scouting genius, but buying a young, obviously talented prospect from the Championship is lacking ambition. Just football snobbery.

No issue with Boro having their valuation for him and insisting it’s met. Hope and believe we won’t pay more than we think he’s worth at this stage of his development.

We have a buy option at the end of the loan, so I don’t whether Gala can just recall and sell him to another party in this window - even if they wanted to. Edit: also, what is his best position?

I’d buy him for the right price, direct competition for Buendia but favouring the left side of the pitch - which wouldn’t hurt. Thing is Arsenal wouldn’t sell to us for the right price, so he’ll like end up at West Ham - and do brilliantly.

Yes. I am hoping those are his numbers from Red Star, not on loan to Collective Farm No.7 in the Serbian Cabbage Producers League.

More chances and a good slice of luck. It’s going to be a challenge staying ahead of Spurs, they have a very strong squad.

Man Utd got us out of jail there holding Spurs to a draw. Poor result for us today but got away with it

Horrible game against a team that wanted to drag us into the gutter, and succeeded too often through our own ill discipline. That said, the ref was utter dog, even more so than their usual low standards. I don’t think Carlos is up to the Prem generally, but definitely not next to Lenglet. We build from the back and those two can’t do it anywhere near as well as Konsa and Pau, which means our whole game then suffers. Diaby is a passenger and I hope we don’t see him start against Newcastle, and please play McGinn on the right, he’s so much better there. With all the noises off about FFP Unai needs to find a way to get these players firing again, but their lack of discipline is really getting on my tits. That’s on them, not the manager. Moreno was ace, Luiz and Bouba very good too. Not looking forward to Newcastle.
