    11 goals and 16 assists in the MLS this season, plays attacking mid can go left or right side too. Beat Buendia for the World Cup squad but only got 1 brief sub cameo. Monchi and Emery will be very aware of him and he won’t cost European prices. Still only 22 turning 23 next summer. Only concern is the quality jump from MLS to Premier League and whether he can manage that, but he’s been involved with the Argentine youth international set up and has 4 caps as a sub for the full team. If we can’t afford to drop £65M on Goncalves, this lad might be a bargain at £20-25M.

    Agree, the right player there would make a huge difference. Nothing against Cash the guy, I just wince every time he gets the ball. Amazed he stayed on tonight, and an upgrade there is the biggest single improvement we could make with one signing.

    Desperately want him to kick on now and rediscover his form. Undoubtedly a massive talent and could be a huge asset, MOTM against Man Utd on Boxing Day should be enough to cement his confidence that he can make it in England. Well done tonight.

    He was lucky to stay on the pitch. There’s heart and fight but there’s also petulance, and frankly a lack of professionalism. He may turn into a player we can rely on, one day, but he’s not that player yet.

    We’re missing Buendia since teams have started playing a low block against us and getting everyone behind the ball. That creative No.10 who can move quickly and unlock a defence is something we really need to address - not just for second half of the season, but as competition for Emi B when he’s back. Hopefully second half we’ll wear them down, but need Dougie to start dictating the tempo and get the ball moving faster.
