  1. Yeah 100%. He's so ideal to play as an isolated front-man.
  2. #MoyesOut trending on twitter although in fairness it looks mostly like non-United fans taking the piss. I'm hugely surprised they haven't made a big signing though. Firstly because having Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs and Andersen as your CM options is horrible for the 'worlds biggest club'. Secondly because after giving him such a long contract i'd have thought they would give him 1 or 2 big signings to show that the club is fully behind and invested in him. At the moment it looks like they're setting him up to fail. He was always going to be in trouble after Ferguson won the league so comfortably last year despite Man City and Chelsea having stronger squads. I wonder if the board are actually fully behind him though or if Moyes was just forced upon them by Ferguson.
  3. I'm not too familiar with Yahoo. Is W-T a flex player that includes RB's or is it just an extra WR or TE?
  4. It's been surprisingly effective (to me anyway) how successful the approach of suffocating the other team by keeping the ball for long stretches has been. The problems I have with it are: 1. It's dull to watch. And it really is. Most of Barcelona's games are unwatchable now. It's like watching a bull-fight. 2. If you copy the approach and do it but just with less talented players you have no chance against the teams doing it anyway. I'm going to miss Alex Ferguson. He consistently played high-tempo football with two wingers. They were always good to watch.
  5. I hope you're on a wind up. Using Barcelona as the example rather than the exception is just mind-boggling.
  6. He scores more spectacular goals than Bent but you're not far wrong in terms of his movement and team-play.
  7. Nail on head. Get the ball in the box and you'll get chances to score. Simple as that. All this pissing about outside the box, ooh we'll pass the ball right the way across the pitch and then back again, we'll rack up as many passes as we possibly can, our possession stats are going to look fantastic.
  8. Well you can see why they've bought Eriksen. Soldado is completely wasted if you don't try and slip some balls through to him. I'm amazed how selfish their wingers have been the two games I've seen them, especially Chadli, what a selfish player he looks, he'd get away with it if he could shoot well but it doesn't look like he can.
  9. Spurs could do with some more wingers who keep their heads down, cut in and shoot every time they have the ball. When was it officially decided this was a genius strategy anyway? Sure, Ronaldo makes it look easy but that's largely because he's Cristiano Ronaldo. I'd much rather have a winger who will take on his full-back like Navas.
  10. What about a bit of Lionel Richie - Dancing on the Ceiling?
  11. I have the following for a very small bet: Panthers Over 7 Patriots Under 11 Steelers Under 9 Chargers Under 7.5 Rams Over 7.5 Titans Over 6.5 I put it on about 3 weeks ago so the lines may have moved a bit since then. I like a small bet on the over/unders for a bit of fun but they are hard to call, the bookies are pretty good at pricing them up to be honest.
  12. So tomorrow 8pm for the draft yes? Anyone not gonna make it?

    Syria

It's such a mess. Whilst military action should probably be taken (unless you believe the Assad regime I suppose) there aren't any guarantees that action on any scale will lead to a better short-term or long-term future for Syria. The UN will, as ever, sit there with their hands tied, express outrage and pass a few resolutions that achieve nothing. Let's hope US and France take some action and it works out but yes it could blow up in their faces dramatically and create more unrest than it solves.

    Corners

Just do inswingers to the near post. So simple, so effective. All these floated corners. Ugh. The good keepers gobble them up. Anything not near the keeper will be too deep to score from directly. Plus, far too many just float over everyone.
  15. Lol. We could definitely do with Marco Reus, I'd agree with that.
  16. Just flicking through the thread Weimann has had surprisingly little criticism from the game. I'd never knock his effort but absolutely nothing came off for him, I thought it was pretty surprising how much Enrique dominated him. I suppose Enrique is quite a physical full-back though.
  17. So true. I voted Okore, he really grew into the game. There's no denying Delph has improved and is extremely valuable in breaking up play, making tackles and interceptions. His forward play is terrible though. If he tries to dribble he overruns it, if he tries any kind of incisive forward pass it fails. I'm pretty sure at this point he's going to get every opportunity from Lambert to keep going forward and hopefully improve even though it seems incredibly obvious that he's well suited to being a defensive midfielder who should concentrate on keeping things simple. Look at Lucas on Saturday. He didn't really stand out but was very, very effective. There's no reason Delph couldn't play the same exact role. He seems well suited to it. Look at Makelele, Delph could be a similar player, he has most of the qualities already, just needs to work on concentration and positional discipline.
  18. Toure looked superb to me. I don't agree liverpool are top side though - thought fatty gerrard had the look of an old man - and they looked slow all over the pitch. Interesting where all there academy prospects have gone .......and where the cash has come from - take note Randy I think when they get Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge together that will be devastating. There's a few questions about the midfield and the tempo they're so keen to play at but with no European commitment this year giving them an advantage over Spurs/Arsenal I can see Liverpool finishing fourth.
  19. To be fair what a signing Toure looked for them. When they replace Aspas with Suarez that will be a hell of a good team.
  20. Just got back. Hugely frustrating. Second half was okay but what a disappointing start. The fans were up for it. conditions perfect and then such a flat first half. I think we all realise that if we chase the ball Liverpool will pass us to death but to stand off and let them have it as much as we did in the first half, when we have so much youth and high energy/workrate in the side was very surprising and disappointing.
  21. I'm delighted Baker starts. Would have been sickening to see Clark get picked ahead of him
  22. Bizarre. Are they going to play a front three of Berbatov, Bent and Taarabt? That's going to set some kind of record as the laziest attack in football history.
  23. Harsh on West Brom. I do think Liverpool have a chance of doing better than that with no European commitments but otherwise I mostly agree. That was in reply to the first one.
