  1. It is really just the same. One article gets regurgitated by newspapers, Twitter, etc., and names are added without source. Just relax - que sera and all that.
  2. There's far more about NZog, Hutton and Clark (natural ability) and Gabby (raw pace which is still a threat) compared to the work rate Weimann had pre contract 2 years ago, he's a waste of a shirt that pisses his contract up the wall on a weekly basis and laughs at those who pay his way whilst doing so! word removed! Absolute rubbish.
  3. In football today, success and plastic fans go hand in hand, you cannot have one without the other.
  4. Dog distinctly underwhelmed about being Photoshopped into Middle Earth.
  5. Yeah, true. It's just that when you look at the clubs still under British ownership, it's all very underwhelming. I shouldn't generalise though - that was just my initial reaction. My reaction was very much the same as yours, but American ownership has not been a success at Villa or Sunderland, Asian ownership has been problematic at other clubs. I think none of us will be too bothered about the nationality of new owners if the club is run properly.
  6. It's just that it seems to have been forgotten that Kozák was signed as a target-man to provide competition to Benteke rather than too play alongside him. They are the same type of player and it's unlikely they'll start together with any regularity. Correct.
  7. I agree that he is a good keeper, but criticising deficiencies, like we do with any player, is not `turning on them'.
  8. Guzan makes me nervous now. The last few games he has got away with some bad blunders when trying to clear the ball. Just not good with his feet, and he knows it, and you can sense his panic.
  9. Swansea are a decent side, and generally outplayed us. However, we put in a decent performance, especially on the break, and could easily have won it. Gomis and Sinclair both missed a number of decent opportunities. I would have to say though that overall if one team had to win it, it was them. They definitely shaded it, but we were close to getting a draw, and no one could really have considered that unfair. We played with a lot of heart, just not the ability and flair shown recently, for much of the game, but you could see it all coming apart before the goal. Was not really expecting anything from this game, so not too disappointed. Plenty of ups and downs to come before the end of the season, and I still think Sherwood can pull us through.
  10. If he keeps doing the business for us as he has been recently, I don't care who he supports. I have been really critical of him for some time, and rightly so in my opinion, but he has been fantastic in the last few games. If only he can keep it going.
  11. Sherwood said that they were all finding the training tough and sustaining injuries because he insists that they train at a high tempo. Vlaar would be even more vulnerable in that scenario.
  12. It wasn't a joke at all. I'll get behind him because I want Villa to do well, but that doesn't hide my opinion he is a self-important idiot. I hope he proves me wrong though. It was a joke!
  13. I was doubtful about him after his appearances for the first team, but he seems to be doing well, and it would be brilliant if he fulfilled his early promise.
  14. That would be a positive for him. He will walk away having lost money.
  15. Yes, and slightly surprising to me. Very interesting.
  16. Think it is second yellow - one game.
  17. I would move Lerner to the top of the list. In spite of his best intentions, which in my opinion he had when he came in, his naivity and mismanagement have definilely made him the author of our misfortunes.
  18. I was very doubtful about him, but so far he has been excellent.
  19. Played ok, then reverted to type after our goal. He needs time, though he does not have much of that, to instil belief in the players and get them playing how he wants them to; not that easy for them just to throw off the shackles and suddenly `do their thing'. Disappointing result, but I did suggest previously that if things did not go to plan we should remember that there is still some way to go and that there is a little bunch of teams still around us. Think our players are overrated by us, but they are no worse than some of those teams around us. And those teams are digging in and showing fighting spirit beyond their perceived capabilities, and our players need to do the same. This is, I think, what Sherwood was bought for, his motivation of players.
  20. Really hope youre right. I dont think he will inside the next 4 games because thats when we need to be sorted out else were relegated. We've got 12 games left, not 4. If its not turned round by the 4 then the other 8 wont matter. Sorry, HA., don't understand this. What do you mean?
  21. I do not mind a bit of arrogance, but the other side of it, of course, is that you set yourself up to be shot down. Definitely what we need at the moment though, and his media presence is a positive for the club and the team at this stage at least. I am definitely not being negative, but, quite understandably considering the disappointments of recent times some are getting a bit carried away, and I think we need to dampen down our expectations a little. He has the rest of the season to keep us up, it is not just this match, and we need to keep that in mind if everything goes wrong today. Hope it won't though, I am looking forward to this game for the first time in a long time.
