  1. I'm not having the photos. It's so bad it could be absolutely anyone. However the press don't normally start following twitter bollocks. Presume someone at Man Shitty has confirmed it. Hope he **** bombs if true.
  2. Am I missing something? The photos on Twitter look nothing like Delph. Whilst I am prepared to believe it could be back on. If the speculation is only based on these photos I'm calling bullshit.
  3. Entitled to do what he wants, however, all I would say is can you remember any of the following in the same position: Beckham Giggs Scholes Messi Maldini Ronaldo Bergkamp Zola Iniesta He's old enough to make his own choices, only he can decide how dedicated he wants to be. Can't think of many players that can do both, or if they can for very long.
  4. If we wait for him to be the complete article he will be somewhere else. We need to get in before bigger sides do and that means before he is proven as the real deal. Granted not all of them will work out, but even if we sell Benteke for 32 Mill, we won't be spending £32 m on a striker so what are you going to do, maybe one like Ings or Austin and a couple of gambles/ ones for future seasons.
  5. Don't think he is Premier League Quality, works hard but is not enough of a threat, not really quick, not an instictive player, can't beat anyone, doesn't win any headers, not in Bents level in terms of finshing hard to see what he does well apart from work hard, well I can do that. Could see him doing ok in the Championship something like Vydra.
  6. Don't start that one going. I would hope finishing one place above the relegation places would put off all potential buyers.
  7. Exactly or bring him in, let him benefit from the coaching and see where he needs to develop and then send him 1/2 season loan with chamionship if not quite ready. I think he my be ready though. We need to adopt this approach though, investing and embracing youth development. Look how well Chelseas do it, profiting even from those that will never play first team football for them.
  8. Obbi Oulare at Bruges. Tailor made replacement for Benteke a lot of the same attributes. Young, has seen Benteke suceed i.e regualr National team starter and will be on less money. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=video&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCAQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DwUFm3t7tkZk&ei=3UVoVfa4IIOU7QbG3IOIBQ&usg=AFQjCNGVbtEwKo54gTNfCp_XLubvRKAPqg&bvm=bv.93990622,d.ZGU I've already emailed the club about him. Just looks like a good fit.
  9. I thought Lambert said something similar about no buy out clause. However there was probably a clause about making it public. Unless the buy out clause is much less formal and Villa have spoken to him and said this is our valuation and if a club meets it we will let you go. sherwood hasn't said what the buy out clause is anyway. Could be £45 m Now is the time to offer him £120 k a week (throw in Bents wages) then if plop meet the valuation they are going to have to match his wages as well. I don't think Plop are going to be.a big draw, no champs league, don't look like they'll compete for t next year and get in a cockstand if players want to leave to go somewhere else, which I'm guessing Benteke does, very doubtful he sees plop as the final destination.
  10. SikhInTrinity mentioned this lad on the Benteke thread: Obbi Oulare Looks a bit like Benteke, I'd like to get him in regardless of whether we keep benteke. Lets create a system that relies on pace, a tall strong striker, good in the air, quick on the deck and can hold it up and play others in. That can be the Villa system.
  11. Why don't we just offer him 4 years and 100k a week. We have to folk out no transfer fee, the system suits him, the team plays to his strengths. What have Liverpool got to offer in excess of this, I can only see Champs league being a big draw and I can't see Liverpool getting that, particularly as they appear to have spunked the Suarez money on a load of rubbish. Bent will be off the books, offer him that in addtion to his currrent salary and then the Liverpool offer doesn't look great, particulalry when they react to people wanting to leave like Sterling. If I was Benteke, I certainly would not be going to Liverpool, even if they were the only option. I'd sooner run down my Contract at Villa until a guaranteed Champions League club wanted me.
  12. Think this shows the risk the players are exposed to when running down their contracts. Whilst vlaar is a good player, There is no way Villa would offer him another deal at the moment. Villa are much better off utilising his prob £2m a year on a younger player with a better fitness record. He would be a big risk for any club to look at with a contract anymore than 12 months. So it's a risky option. Much safer to what benteke and Delph did and sign; security for your family for 5 years plus. If you are playing well enough, you can still get to play in the champions league anyway.
  13. this is my feelings too mark. Well put. +1 for me Mark. After last night he had to go. I don't feel anywhere near the elation as when TSM was sacked, feel sad that it hasn't worked out. After wacthing a series of managers struggle now I wonder whether the Manager makes any difference. Agree, he does seem to have an eye for a player. Reckon he will be managing a club in Championship play off next season, hopefully not at our expense!!
  14. Are you serious. Milner was an absolute engine, complete box to box player with a decent strike as well. That's two more things that Cleverley doesn't possess. Milner's final season he was brilliant when he played centrally and that's what earned him his big money move to Man City but before and after that I think he's been pretty average, a good realiable Premiership player but nothing special. Reminds me a bit of Steve Stone if i'm honest, think he's overrated on here. But at the same time i'd be happy to have him back here in the hope that he'd be played centrally and that he could recapture his form from his last season with us. Wash your mouth out! He wasn't a one season wonder. He only looked average when he was on loan from the barcode splaying on the wing. Though he looked great as soon as we signed him. Anyway my point is, Milners party piece is his ability (heart and fitness) to always be in the game, offensively or defensively. What's cleverleys strength?

  16. Stan I'm sure your right, but honestly, most of their fans seem to have the same view as me, the others have some sentimentality for a product of their youth team, I never got the hype over him, unlike Wilshere and Barkley who have showed some talent, I honestly do not understand what he does that's good. The closest player I can compare him too is Bannan. I felt we were robbing palace when we got £1.75 mill for him. We would be getting a seeing to for £8mill.
  17. From RedCafe Roboc7 "Not good enough today, struggled for most of the game, did improve a bit but didn't really make the most of his opportunity, I agree with what Cleverley was saying about him being the type of player who LVG likes, the problem is he just isn't very good and doesn't offer enough to the team. I really do think he would struggle for games at least half the premier league sides because there is just nothing about him that stands out. He runs around a lot and is an average all rounder who keeps possession ok but that is about it, unless he improves dramatically in a short period of time I wouldn't want to see him anywhere near the first team and with only a year left on his contract maybe it is time to move him on." This is exactly how I see him. Probably slightly less effective than Westwood who cost about £1.5 mill. We're not spending 8mil for west woods back up. We should be signing players that are gonna put Westy on the bench. There must be much better talent out there for that money.
  18. Bertrand played in a champions league final. He was still shite. I would look ok playing for Utd. Especially when the option is Anderson!
  19. Young wasn't very good for us in his last 2 seasons in my eyes. Couldn't we get Milner back for 10 or 12 mill. I'd be much happier with that.
  20. Hope this is a ruse and we are in for somebody else and playing hardball on the fee. This will be as bad as £12m for Shane long. It's the same feeling I had when we signed leonhardsen, Calderwood, Shorey. Players that you had seen enough of to know they were shit and not going to work out. It's the midfield equivalent of spending £8mil on Bendtner. If you buy a young player for £1m, championship, league 1 you will give them a chance and Not seen enough of them at a top level to know if they will be good enough. I've seen enough of Cleverley and it's wank! Never understood the hype when they were singing his praises..... What for? What does he do?
  21. Jesus wept! Couldn't make it up. Perhaps the most overrated player in the premier league ever! How the hell he won an England cap I have no idea. He offers nothing more than Westwood and he cost buttons! If we pay 8 mill for him Lambert is a bigger fool than I could have believed. He is the same as Wes Brown, Darren Gibson, and all the other dross they have let go, they go for a reason. What is his supposed strength? He's not creative, doesn't score loads, doesn't beat people, not a ball winner and worst of all doesn't look like he works hard and he thinks he's made it, he hasn't, he's been found out. In my view he is just like Westwood. OK, but won't win you a game and certainly not worth 8 mill and a massive salary he is on. If we were signing him on a free and he want £20k a week I might think about it. Other than that, just no. How is his fee bigger than Kagawa??? I hope he wants to let his contract run out, or fancies living in Hull otherwise this is tragic. For those of you that think he is good have a read on Red Cafe.... They're laughing their tits off!
  22. Good Riddance. He got better, but he wasn't qualified for the job in the first place! Ever since he's been in charge things have gone downhill. A real yes man. Any man that presided over the appointment of Mcleish should have resigned on principle at being shit at his job. Like to know the story behind this. Sounds like Randy has given him the chop.
  23. Hmm.... If I was reviewing my managers performance at the end of the season whether to stick or twist this result has taken it further below the red line of acceptability. It's not worked and I'm bored of watching crap players and crap performances. Time to go.
  24. Clermont Auvergne are a decent French Rugby side, not sure I know anything abouth the football team. It's probably a lot like Wigan where the Rugby team is bigger than the football team. I doubt he could be worse than Bannan, there I am thinking of a strapping 6ft DCM, and then I remember Isiah Osbourne. Please be better than Isiah! Thinking about it, I reckon Hogg would be doing a job for us in the middle now.
  25. Spare the outrage. If you perform well, you could expect to come on here and read loads of positive stories. Play like a rocket polisher and guess what? If you perform poorly at work you should expect to be criticised, unless perhaps you work in some fluffy organisation that skirts around the fact that you're not pulling your weight. I have no sympathy. . . they are paid handsomely for something most do in their spare time. If they cant take the downside of the job they should pack it in.
