  1. I'm sorry but that is bollocks. Because a club wants to sell, it doesn't mean you need to go. He had a contract with the club and it is the players choice. What do you think Messi would say if Barca said we've sold you to Stoke! I loved the guy as a player, but the club agreed the fee as they thought it was good money, and Milner agreed a fat pay rise and the chance of winning trophies. Youre kidding yourself if you think he didn't want to go. He might have been sad to leave, but the player always has the choice. I do think Milner will leave if he's benched all season again.
  2. Hmm another Macron link. This is more than just coincidence. Not sure how this would work, shirt sponsors don't usually have that much influence, must be some kind of agent. V strange
  3. I agree Gabby is one of the few players who you can guarantee will give 100%. Under a decent manager and utilised he'd be a top prem striker. Too often he is like Bent left on his own isolated marked by two players. Get mcleish out of our club, I'm sick of him ruining our attacking play. We used to give out hammerings under O'neil, when was the last time we won by more than a goal? Mcleish is so interested in not losing he puts all the pressure on the back 4 and we still concede. Don't blame the monkeys, blame the organ grinder
  4. I'll think you'll find that Arsenals profits last year, came from player sales. Not really a sustainable proposition as Arsenal are definately worse than last year. Replacements have not proven to be as good. Their previous profits have come from the development and sale of property at Highbury. This is coming to an end. I expect them to be making a loss this year, not on the scale of Villa but probably in the £20 mill bracket and it could be worse if they don't qualify for the champions league. The one area they have got right is their match day revenue, they make more than they do from TV money. However there is one good reason for that, they play attractive attacking football and have done for a number of years. Hence they have 60,000 people wanting to buy a ticket. You need to get things right on the pitch, something Villa haven't got anywhere near to yet.
  5. Straw that broke the camels back. McLeish is finished here, abysmal performance. Playing for nil nil and only having a go in the last 10 minutes. If Lerner can't see that McLeish is a bad manager, he is **** blind. **** off McLeish
  6. Whilst there is always a danger of inflating the ability of those not in the team, I really don't think that is the case with Makoun. I'd love to have seen Makoun and Ireland in a midfield together, two players who can pass and move into space to recieve. We have too many players who are scared to have the ball and not taking the responsibility to put themselves in space so they can recieve the ball. Makoun did play well against Man Utd I watched it and he was a revelation, sadly that was when Houlliers style was just coming through. I honestly think if Ged had a decent back 4 and a proper defensive midfielder that team could have flourished. However the problem is our defence! They are so shit on the ball that they mostly bypass the midfield and negate any passing anyway. Trouble is AML is not the kind of manager that appreciates a player like Makoun, he'd be exactly like Hleb at the Sty. Whichever way you look at it, loaning out Makoun whilst loaning in Jenas was a bad move, Jenas injury record is only beaten by Kieron Dyer and Kirkland. I hope he gets fit soon and AML has an epiphany of actually wanting to play football.
  7. Someone from the club needs to open their mouth and start **** talking. Paul Faulkner would be a start, this is a joke. Finally buy a strikers to finish and then sell the talent around him, what is the point. How many pl games did Makoun play? Players take time to settle. I've had enough of this shambles, I want FAULKNER OUT.
  8. He looked great on his debut. He is one of the few midfielders that can move the ball quickly. Obviously AM is planning on bypassing Midfield! I am staggered, I just can't see how this makes any sense, unless the player has said I want out, but that doesn't seem likely. Who's left as a CM? Delph, Petrov, Ireland, (clark is a defender),
  9. This site is interesting in providing some analysis to how much bollocks each paper makes up. http://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/newspaper_statistics.aspx The Mirror should also be banned as well, total crap. I can't recall them getting one right.
  10. Perhaps we are waiting to see if Hoilett rejects a contract offer at Rovers. I understand he only has 1 year left. Surely we could get him for a decent fee with only 12 months left. The fact that we have sold Young to ManUre shows that we will sell, so he can advance his career and still play for the big 4 later on.
  11. I waste about 35 out of my 37.5 hour week on here, the other 2.5 hours being spent on lunch. The thing which particularly annoys me is that I spend all day on here watching nothing important going on, yet when I get home, I still feel the need to check for news every now and then. Hi, this is Tim in IT Services, been meaning to talk to you about how much you want to pay me to keep this quiet!
  12. Hang on, have I missed something official? As far as I'm aware its all the same speculation bollocks! Calm down until it comes from the club or the player, the paper talk this year has been more innacurate than ever. Exclusive just means one person made up a load of bollocks on their own. He's got 2 years left, pay us handsomely or he's not going anywhere. He will have to play well if he has any international ambitions. If not he can rot in the ressies with Warnock for 2 years. Come on Villa lets play hardball otherwise we will get walked on.
  13. I wouldn't sell him for £.20 m. He has two years left.... two seasons. **** him, we don't need the money. Tell him he's not going offer him a new contract and let him know we are prepared to let him see his contract out. Who knows what will happen in that time. You can't roll over every time and have your tummy tickled, sometimes we should bare our teeth. People will say well his heart won't be in it and he won't play well. Well as a professional player that would reflect badly on him, and let's see him make England squads if he's not playing well enough to start for us. It's 2 years FFS. He's not about to run out of contract. In 2 years time he will be 29, not many players get big contracts at that age, and he carries the risk of running down his contract I.e no increase in salary.and the risk that you get injured in the final year of your contract you may not get another anywhere, just look at Ashton. Let's grow some balls and use the advantages we have.
  14. Paying compensation for Mcleish is the vomit coating on the shit filled eclaire that is mcleishs appointment. I honestly thinly the most rational explanation for this is that Randy has an evil twin that has locked the real Randy up whilst he destroys the club
  15. I read that on twitter earlier. And it sums things up perfectly. Hatred for mcleish? What's he done wrong? Left blues for a bigger club to improve his career. Hatred, grow up ffs. People talk as if he is a rapist or something. It's the board you should be pissed off at, they have handled this appallingly. Mcleish has done nothing wrong. I agree with you. I quite like McLeish as you will see in my previous posts. What I meant is that its a good message to people who are that upset with his appointment to get behind the team whoever is in charge. I dont hate him because of anything he has done previously, I hate him because he is prepared to take the job with very little support because he knows he will get a fat pay off when it does, there is no risk for him.
  16. Why? I don't want it to happen, its the last thing I want. I'd rather not win the £400, but it looks like a possibility hence the shortish odds, and £400 would pay for a night on the beers to drown my sorrows. Our last couple of wins this season pulled us out of the shit, everyone agrees 9th place is deceptive. Young has gone, Reo Coker has gone, Friedel has gone, Downing might go, can't see Bent being happy to stay, can't see us attracting any decent players under the ginger one so how far exactly do you think we will be from the relegation zone?
  17. Even looking at his smug ginger face is making me angry, the fact that he has the gall to take the job......... **** off you ginger clearing in the woods. God this is before we have even lost a game, I'd like to be rational and take my emotion out of it but the sense of dissapointment and increduality is crushing. FML
  18. Just put £20 on Villa to be relegated at 21. Before its announced, once its confirmed no doubt it will be in the single figures. Just shows what the Market thinks, if Villa are only 21 to be relegated next season. Well done Randy, you've managed to undo 4 years of great work at a stroke. Someone tell me this isn't really happening.
  19. Actually, had they appointed Flores and he had failed people would be ripping Flores and the board apart and I think you know that as well. It doesn't take much for fans to turn on a manager, a few poor results or a streak of boring football and the hunt is on. Football fans are very, very sensitive when it comes to managers and their performances. I do think that or I wouldnt have said it. I dont think Flores would have failed though. We've just missed so many golden opportunities. Rijkaard and Flores (reportedly) want the job. Daft you are missing the point though, Flores record brings with it respect. The fans would have respected Flores and given him a chance. McLeish record warrants no respect and so the Fans will give him no time, no patience and no support. How is that a good appointment? to fly in the face of the facts is arrogant and deluded.
  20. How does chanting "**** off small health" and "ginger c***" on national television show any integrity whatsoever? As for his record: League and Cup triumphs in Scotland 70% win record with the Scottish National team League Cup victory with a minor midlands club.... Apart from his international record his CV is remarkably similar to MONs. The only stain is getting a Championship standard club into the PL and then returned to the Championship.
  21. Still can't believe this might be happening its like a bad dream and then you realise its happening. I just don't understand this at all. Why, Why, Why?
  22. LOL That's exactly how ridiculous it is.
  23. If they go ahead with this I agree, its like they will have thrown a grenade into a room full of people to see what will happen. We all know what will happen if they appoint McLeish. Lets just say he was good enough (which he isn't) at a guess I would say over 90% of supporters are against his appointment, there is no way he will get the backing. The players will know this, put in a poor performance and its easy for them to let the manager take the flak, as they know he's unpoplar, then one of them out of favour will start a whispering campaign saying he has lost the dressing room and he will be under pressure to be sacked. How is this an appoinment to ensure our best players stay, there is no chance of Downing signing now, and I bet Bent will be the next one out of the door. Even recruiting players this Summer seems unlikely, if Mcleish said he wanted you as a player to come to Villa, would you go knowing there is a probability that he will be out of a job by Christmas, and that could leave you with a manager that didn't rate you. Randy, what are you doing? take a long hard look at yourself before you press the destruct button. I honestly think there will be no way back for the board if they go ahead with this. There is a slim chance that McLeish would be a success, but without the backing of the fans it is so unlikely. I think Randy has done everything right up until now, I understand that he needs to make the club sustainable, however why employ a manager with a track record of failure? If thats the kind of premier league experience he is thinking of I'd rather have an manager without premier league experience. People point to the carling cup in defence, did these people watch that game or their progress through the cup, they were shit and lucky. How Arsenal didn't beat them is a mystery. I don't want Villa playing football like that. I support the Villa, but I'll vote with my feet as its the only way the board will understand. If Randy and Faulkner want to go against 90% of this club and make such a poor appointment then he has made his bed and he will have to lie in it. Its our club but his investment, if he wishes to piss it up the wall it his decision, but I don't want to hear any of the board ever criticising the fans for staying away, because they will. I wouldn't attend a protest, I think the board can't fail to understand the groundswell against this appoinment and I don't think it achieves anything. But staying away will. Just to reiterate, I honestly don't care about the Blues connection, its just such a crap appointment, someone who plays crap football and spells out exactly where we are heading from here on out. Absolutely gutted.
  24. I could put this more eloquently, but ill tell it as I feel it. If Mcleish is employed the board can **** themselves if they think ill support the club. I'll come back when they stop treating our club as a joke. I'm struggling to believe this is really happening! It's like finding out your hot wife who has always been faithful, has been shagging a dole scrounging fat bastard with no hair and teeth, and she tells you she's going to move in with him. Surely this can't happen.
  25. well have they interviewed rijkaard, van gaal, jol, benitez? because if they have there is no way mcleish could be classified as the best candidate.
