Slightly higher than we have as I think Howe would have played to our players strengths rather than imposing a new style on them after a few games of coming in. Obviously the hope is that Gerrard has learnt all he needs to about who he can and can't use within his tactical set up and that this season's tribulations will make it easier for him to improve next season.

They're a team that can bring on top quality talent where as we bring on Nakamba. We all know that our midfield is not good enough and it certainly follows that the mid subs are even less so. On to next season, hopefully we will improve and get closer to the top half.

I feel if we are to get the most out of Coutinho and Buendia then we need a forward with clever movement and close control. Ings can do it but seems to pick up niggles. Watkins doesn't really suit that style.

I've not seen the guy play but I would have thought we stand a strong chance of getting him if we want him what with all our Rangers connections and being a good sized club to make a move to in the PL

How come we only moved from 16th to 14th as a result? I don't remember us being that far adrift of the pack when we were 16th. Genuine question, not a criticism of Gerrard.

In fairness, I think MakemineVanilla is referring to the season as a whole rather than it getting worse since Gerrard has come in. This season has been slightly worse than last. As for the game, play the players we want to play, if that's a youth player or two then that's what we should do. We shouldn't be worrying about other teams opinions.
