  1. Positive, I don't think I could live any other way now!
  2. Hadn't thought of that, another great reason to choose Newcastle over Small Heath.
  3. We'll still here the Championships pundits banging on about ow Newcastle are to big for the division and how fantastically loyal the fans are for sticking with them through thick and thin, blah blah blah But at least it's a lot easier to ignore those pundits than it is the Premier League ones.
  4. Just had a glance at the fixture. Blooze still have to play Liverpool and Everton, it would certainly be in Villa's interest to see them get six points from those games and if that means they're are staying up fine.
  5. How have I survived without one I want one! That's awesome!
  6. Prague Ska Conspiracy - Kill I don't care that you've never heard of them, they're great!

    Alcohol

Would paying more stop me drinking? No. If the price was high enough, might I be forced to drink less? Of course, no one has an infinite amount of money. But the problems with Britain's booze culture can't be solved as easily as by rising prices. People get drunk and behave like idiots because idiots is what they are, stopping them drinking won't change that. They'll find another excuse to go out and fight on a Saturday night.
  8. You missed Bristol Rovers of the poll! Come on the Gas!
  9. I voted PL because I enjoy it the most, but it all comes down to how you define best really. The PL is fast and exciting, Serie A is technically very good, La Liga has plenty of quality. Or do you look at strength in depth, maybe how good the bottom teams in each league are to show this? Or how many different teams can actually realistically compete for the title? Maybe you look at which one has the highest number of world class players, it's impossible to define really so you can't ever hope to have a definitive answer on this.
  10. This should mean we're 7 wins away from being UEFA cup certainties. Looking at the fixtures we have Fulham, Newcastle, Reading, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Bolton, Derby, SHA and Wigan to play who are all well below us in the league. That's 9 games to pick up 7 wins from, minus anything we get from games against Arsenal, Portsmouth, Man Utd (yeah right), Everton and West Ham. Surely even with a couple of injuries we should now be starting to expect a UEFA cup place?
  11. Hi General I PM'd you about this a couple of weeks ago but haven't had a response so perhaps you didn't receive it. I'm currently writing an essay an strategic management at Aston Villa as an important piece of my uni coursework. I would love to have just a little input from yourself, a few quotes from a board member would be very helpful! I'm especially interested in knowing a little more about the 5 year plan, who is responsible for what aspects of strategic planning, what skills or knowledge the various board members bring to the club, what you see as the main strategic issues currently facing the club and where certain initiatives undertaken so far (training ground, Holte Hotel, Nike partnership, ticket promotions) fit in with the wider plan. I appreciate that some things need to be kept confidential and you may not be able to tell me everything I would like to know but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  12. I'll have to go for both as well. Most great entrepreneurs are complete tossers, I think you have to be to an extent.
  13. I think it could be Cashley Cole, the guy is clearly a complete clearing in the woods who thinks he's much better than he really is. I don't think he'll take well to being dropped and there's a good chance he will be. And kingphil, that's a hell of an avatar!
  14. Laursen for me, because as has been said he is our best player and the only one who is truly world class imo. However, Gabby and Young run him close as they are in their early 20's and Laursen is 30, so I would be distraught if we lost any of those three.
  15. He was only just declared fit yesterday after flu so probably wasn't 100% which may be why he went off early yesterday.
  16. Has this been mentioned to the General? Surely if the club were to complain to the FA they would have to explain themselves?
  17. General, What are your thoughts on the FA Cup draw? Please to have a big high profile tie, albeit against a side we really struggle against or would you have preferred some League 2 side to give us a better chance of progressing?
  18. General Great game today and great performance. Just have one problem, the music when we score is awful! We have enough fans to make noise, we're not Bolton! Please can this be stopped? Thread here about it showing that others agree. http://tinyurl.com/33jl52
  19. I agree, some companies need to be kept in check. (Neslte and other companies selling baby food where it is going to mixed with bad water being the obvious example) But there seems to be a massive chunk of people who have the opinion that all globalisation and big business is bad. It's not so long ago that Thailand was full of sweat shops with, compared to the Western would be considered appalling. Now I believe they have a GDP comparable to Spain's. It's a part of industrial revolution and needed to attract FDI, without which any under developed country will struggle to grow. And people in these sweat shops may be subjected to what we would consider unacceptable conditions, but who are we to say that working for 10 cents a day is really worse than a child having to work on farm or their family, or worse young girls being sent out to prostitute themselves for a family that desperately needs money. The majority of profit does end up back whatever global corporation has put the FDI in place, but why should that matter if the country t(and the people of that country) are still getting richer than they previously were from it? I believe that globalisation and FDI by large multinational companies has done a lot more for bringing people out of poverty than any amount of charity ever will.
  20. Because all big companies are inherently evil aren't they. Never mind that provide jobs for thousands of people, make massive contributions to the economy where ever they are set up and in many cases spread wealth to poorer areas of the world by outsourcing factories and other parts of the business. They make a big profit so must be evil.
  21. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
  22. I don't see why it's seen as such an invasion of privacy / liberties etc. Most countries in Europe have them and no one I know has a problem with that. It's a uniform ID that everyone will have to carry making security much simpler and could well take the place of a passport for at least travel within the EU.
  23. Now that I like! Could catch on if you could get it going.
