  1. Welcome Karim! Could turn out to be a bit of a bargain this one.
  2. He's not been great these last couple of games but people are over reacting massively. He's a brilliant keeper. He's getting on of course and I wouldn't mind getting another keeper in that can challenge for the number 1 spot, but we should definitely keep him.
  3. In my opinion, Makoun can do some things very well and other things very badly. If Lambert can get him to improve to a Premier League standard we will have a very good player on our hands. It's a big if though, and I think it's likely he won't make the grade. I was really excited by that game against Man U when he completed about 90% of his passes. It proved something is there. But his performances since seemed to suggest something was lacking too. Hope he steps up but I won't be holding my breath.
  4. Was happy with that. Sounded confident that he was going to improve things, but no cockiness or bs. Think he'll get a lot of respect from the players.
  5. Norwich won't sell for anything like a price that would make this worthwhile. Avoid.
  6. Slightly risky, and not the big name that the fans will be wanting but time will tell. Could be a great appointment for them. Hopefully not, though
  7. Most of you may know this, but I just learned today about Lambert taking League 2 Wycombe to the semis of the league cup a few years ago. His side held Chelsea in the home leg. That is bloody impressive. The more I find out about him the more I like him. Would certainly be happy if he was appointed. Not 100% convinced by Martinez. Think he could make us a fantastic team again, or just as easily get us relegated...
  8. Nail on head. If we appoint Lambert expect mid table mediocrity at best watching long ball football Mid table would do fine for me for a season or 2. Not sure Norwich played close to the hoofball we saw under McLeish. It would be a massive, massive improvement.
  9. At least we know it won't be Rodgers. Confirmed as LFC boss now.
  10. Not sure this has damaged us too much. We sounded out an excellent managerial prospect, he chose to stay at his hometown club. It's hardly a disgrace. We tried to do it without the press getting hold of the story too. No embarrassment in what has happened in my opinion. If we start getting turned down by someone like Mick McCarthy it looks terrible, but we went for the right kind of person in the right kind of way. Pleased with what Randy has tried, but slightly concerned about what is ahead of us now.
  11. Gutted by this but in many ways I was surprised that he was even considering leaving Molde at this point. From watching the video he seemed to have his life exactly how he wanted it - his family were settled in the town he grew up, the stadium and facilities seemed to be excellent and there's no doubt he was held in very high regard by the fans and the community. You could say that maybe he's already taken Molde as far as he can but if I was him, no matter how ambitious I was, I'd stay for a couple more seasons. He's a young man in managerial terms. Would have loved him to come but really can't blame him for deciding to stay. Maybe we can get him here next time we're looking for a manger.
  12. :? Hmm. Not what I wanted to hear. Doesn't mean it's off I guess, but I'd rather this got sorted out nice and quickly.
  13. The only thing that worries me slightly (apart from this falling through) is that he doesn't seem to be showing much loyalty to Molde. They were the club where he made his name as a player and now a manager, and he's leaving them after one season? It would concern me that if he enhanced his reputation with us he may not stick around if someone bigger came along.
  14. That's a bit harsh. I actually had a funny feeling he'd do well for us and would like to see him here. Maybe he is crap but i'd like him to have a chance to prove himself.
  15. Great! Then we could use the money to buy a whole team of Alan Huttons and Karl Henrys. Exactly. Unless we had a fantastic manager who was brilliant in the transfer market, selling Bent would be insane. Besides, even if we did get £30m for the pair of them I'm not so sure Randy would allow that all to be spent on players. If Bent decides he wants to leave it would be hard for us to keep him, of course. Wouldn't blame him either. But anyone who thinks selling him would benefit the club should be locked away in a padded cell.

    Stan Petrov

Shocking and terrible news. Get well soon Stan.
  17. Because if we lose at home to Fulham we won't Absolutley no chance. He won't go now and I doubt he'll go in the summer either. It would take us getting relegated before Randy gets rid and even then I'm not so sure.
  18. No. My biggest fear is not that he takes us down. It's that he keeps his job for years and we have to put up with this horrible brand of "football". I have been to Villa Park once this season and it was a miserable experience. I will not stump up the money for tickets again until Villa start playing to win matches. And I can't see that happening until a new man is in charge.
  19. Hope this is true. There's a decent player in there somewhere but we can't keep playing the guy when he makes such basic errors. Would like to see Stevens get a run. Can't be any worse.
  20. Wouldn't bet on it. Delph's only going for a month. If Leeds only pay a portion of his wages we really aren't saving much.
  21. It appears to me that macron are really gonna have to up their game for our kits or a lot of people will be disappointed, me included. This will impact on sales and with the club trying to reduce losses this seems a bit stupid. Oh, and I look forward to us having a near identical kit to West Ham next year.
  22. This is what really worries me. Unless we lose 10 in a row or gets us relegated I don't think he'll get the sack. We could be stuck like this for years.
  23. Very impressed with the faces of the villa squad. Looking top notch. Only played one game - villa 2 sha 3.
  24. Not overly excited by this as a signing, but I'll be honest I'm quite relieved we won't have to rely on Herd/Lichaj for a whole season.
  25. If we are to get rid we should at least wait until January. He hasn't settled in the Prem yet but that doesn't mean he won't. Saying that, AM will have seen quite a bit of him in training and if he can get Makoun out and Parker in we would definitely see the benefits straight away.
