  1. So, so predictable. You knew when our word removed of a manager put his two cloggers on we were going to lose. I've just lost all interest in this season now, I couldnt give a shit what happens. Until Lerner sells up I'm not spending another penny on the club.
  2. Come on, this is Lambert's coaching methods we are talking about. He probably had them kicking a football against a brick wall.
  3. Cant see anything other than an easy victory for those geordie words removed with a few of their players breaking their ducks. We always bend over and take it up the arse for teams on bad runs.
  4. Although Hutton has shown he has been mainly rubbish for us, there is no way in hell the owner should have been allowed to meddle in team selection like this. I mean, what if Hutton actually showed he was capable in training, like that waste of space Tonev? Surely he'd be in line to be considered, even though he was on 40k a week. Also, its not as if 40k is a huge wage in this league anyway. Sadly, that's about average these days. This makes us look like a pisspot cheapo outfit.
  5. He's not entirely wrong though. If we were six or even just four points worse off we'd be in the bottom three or just out on goal difference.
  6. Nil points. Newcastle are on a poor run but we are the gift that keeps on giving.
  7. Norwich (H) - must win game. If we can't win this we are truly screwed going into the next set of fixtures. Man City (A) - comfortable away loss. Chelsea (H) - comfortable home loss. Lampard will score a few as usual. Stoke (H) - Another must win game. If we can't win this we will most likely be in the drop zone at this point. Man U (A) - could get a point out of this, but we will probably roll over and die yet again.
  8. This City-Chelsea match has to be the most expensively assembled game of football in history. I wonder how much the total cost of all those players is and their weekly wage?
  9. Last chance saloon for Fulham. With their wage bill and aging squad they will be fooked in the championship. Don't think this will work but you never know....
  10. Really, disappointing, frustrating season. Most of our players bar two or three exceptions have been woeful all season, even our superstar striker looks like he can't be arsed. Nothing much to shout about if truth be told. If this is "progress" or "stability" I want out. No way should our manager get a contract extention off the back of this. I'd let him sweat a little and perhaps if there is no improvement before the summer, take our chances with someone else.
  11. I often wonder what would have happened had Frank Lampard picked us instead of Chelsea in 2001.
  12. Won't be going to the world cup at this rate. I doubt he'll get his "dream" move either.
  13. Oh well, at least we got a clean sheet. Without Vlaar we would have lost so easily. So he gets my MOTM. The team look so disjointed, out of shape and clueless, its like Lambert threw 11 random players together and expected them to play. Benteke was awful, he needs another spell on the bench. I reckon he'll be with us next season as no bugger will want to buy him!
  14. Not read much of this thread but my view on Lambert getting a new 3 year deal is that I wouldn't give him 3 minutes. Yesterday was the perfect example of the fact we aren't progressing, for the last 30 mins we were exactly the same tactically (!) as against Bradford, 4 in a straight line up top and hoof from the back, Albrighton aside our entire midfield were gutless in the way they just went sideways to give responsibility for trying to create... His defenders will say he hasn't had cash BUT he and he alone decided £7m on a striker we didn't need was preferable than finding an ounce of creativity for the midfield, an experienced defender to shore up the back when Crocked Ron is out injured again, or an enforcer who can add a bit of leadership and strength to a painfully weak midfield. He plainly doesn't give a monkeys about entertaining the fans, his 100mph mistake laden football proves that - so his job should live or die by results and what we have had served up at VP in his tenure has 90% been utter tripe. I sincerely hope Lambert gets us clear of the drop this season but also hope Lerner does what is right and bombs him and his one dimensional bore fest out come the summer. Watching at Villa Park is getting more and more boring and tedious, the board can't bury their heads and think 36k will turn up week in week out to watch it. To finish my rant, as I needed cheering up, I sat and read the post match comments on this site from just after we smashed Sunderland 6-1. It was full of optimism with one fella saying that we can push for a top 6 place next season, Lowton was getting better and better, if we buy a defensive mid etc etc etc. It made me realise just how much we have stood still. We still can't even do the basics right, and these players have been playing together for 18 months. Lambert has also wasted a lot of money - he knows it because for some reason every time the figures get raised he tries to revise them downwards! I honestly think this is as good as we are going to get with him in charge and this will be the biggest job he'll get. For me, I think he sees out his contract and goes. No way would I be thinking of giving him a new contract at this point.
  15. I had a bad feeling that because he is one of Lambert's mates he'd be bought in and played frequently. Typical actions of a manager out of his depth.
  16. I reckon we will stumble to 15th again. If Lambert gets a new contract off that they can forget any season tickets from me. Lerner will take us down eventually, if he stays.
  17. Not on this display, no. I can't believe the club were so incompetent to start contract talks before the season was over.
  18. Why? Do you think a new manager is going to do any better? Yes I do. Even someone like Gianfranco Zola would get more out of these players than Lambert. But its too late now anyway. Your idol will be here taking us through another season of mediocrity, so you need not worry. He's Lerner's perfect yes man and won't rock the boat. I'm not sure the fans will follow this crap much longer though. I'm certainly not going back if he gets offered another contract on this display.
  19. I really hope these contract talks are now on hold.
  20. With Vlaar out we could lose all three. Clark and Baker are really going to have to up their games against West Ham and Cardiff, both will be looking to get three points from us....
  21. If we finish higher than last season there is no reason why he shouldn't get a new contract. However the season is far from over and I'm not counting my chickens yet, we could still get dragged into the shit. If he had any ambition after what happened in January he'd tell Lerner where to stuff his contract.
  22. Two loans only is really piss poor. Lambert has wanted a number 10 attacking midfielder all summer and this month he hasnt been backed to bring one in. Shame on Lerner. I really, really hope he **** off in the summer.
  23. Chelsea continue to stockpile Europe's best talent with the signing of Kurt Zouma - a snip at £12.5m - - who is then instantly loaned back to the club they signed him from. He's bound to end up at their dumping ground, a.k.a. Vitesse Arnhem next season.
