  1. The spanish league is just pathetic. Like watching super heavyweight boxers take on a blind quadraplegic monkey every week. Barcelona and Real Madrid should just play each other 38 times.
  2. Although both have had severe injuries at young ages, Delph showed far, far more than Gardner at a younger age. All Gardner has done is rip up a youth league and dine out on his "good prospect" tag for several years. In his handful of appearances for us he hasn't looked anything special, and that was before the injury. Delph was tearing up League One + the Championship for 2 seasons before coming to Villa, playing week in week out. He was being linked with teams far better than us, hence why MON paid £6m for him! If Gardner's rotten luck with injuries continues he'll have to retire. It took Delph around 18 months to come back fully from his injury, but he had more time on his side than Gardner. I just can't see any future for him here - he may be offered a new contract out of sympathy however.
  3. Absolutely. With our without Ron Vlaar to hold his hand, Clark looks shit scared every time a defender is running at him, can't mark, poor positioning, crap concentration, weak in the air and can't pass. Baker is exactly the same. Played together they are the worst CB pairing in the league and are targeted by other teams. Both liabilities need to be shipped out in the summer. They have had their chance!
  4. Another dire performance. He really doesn't want to be here, does he?
  5. Totally unsurprised by that result, as usual we take it up the arse against this lot.
  6. Not really earning that new contract, is he?
  7. Going to be another horrid end to the season hoping other teams don't improve. Right back in the relegation mix.
  8. A Man Utd team containing 11 blind quadraplegic monkeys could beat this Villa team given the way we lube up and bend over for them every time we play them. Nice easy win for Moyes and easy story for headline writers in the sunday tabloids: "What was all the panic about... scared/rabbit in the headlights Aston Villa give Moyes a lifeline with easy victory etc etc...."
  9. That manuscript in the link is laughable. Did this meeting actually exist? I'm sure they were quaking in their boots with these pathetic questions. What the flying **** is the point of these meetings. Hey at least I now know that chicken and mushroom pies may, just may be making a comeback. Good to see the club still takes the big issues seriously. “Who is in charge of the clattering train? The axles creak and the couplings strain, and the pace is hot and the points are near, and sleep hath deadened the driver's ear, and the signals flash through the night in vain. For Death is in charge of the clattering train.”
  10. Can't play on the same day. Stops the knuckledragging element from both sides getting pissed up and arranging a fight somewhere.
  11. This picture should help, not sure who drew it but it's a lovely old painting of Villa vs West Brom from the 1960s/1970s. Whenever we lose this painting always reminds me that we may lose but the club will never die.
  12. Well Niall Quinn is just an incredibly dour man with no charisma, so he probably sounds like he hates everyone. However, was he still Sunderland chairman when we came in for Darren Bent? I seem to remember Sunderland fans giving their board a load of stick for selling him to us. Perhaps he copped a load of that, hence the perception that he may hate us.
  13. I'm really not sure what Villa get out of this in all honesty. He's not cut out for this level any more. This has always had the small of nepotism about it from the start. Lambert's clearly just helping out a mate, is'nt he.
  14. If Baker was marking Crouch like he was supposed to instead of marking space I doubt Stoke would have scored. At nearly 23 I doubt he's going to improve any further. A couple of good games a season and the rest average or dire. This is as good as it gets folks!
  15. This result has little to do with Lambert - the players are to blame. But he has to pick Clark and Lowton over Baker and Bacuna next weekend; both deserve to be dropped for putting in performances that would be embarassing for a sunday league pub team.
  16. I could only hear the 50 or so Stoke fans chanting in the pub. Can't blame the fans really, 4 years of total shite at home is coming home to roost. I know I won't be going back any time soon - hopefully Lerner will sell up this summer.
  17. Were you watching the game? He was pretty much directly responsible for 3 of the goals, including 2 complete schoolboy errors.
  18. Think his time at Villa is coming to an end for me. He just offers nothing and for what he is being paid he should be contributing way more than he is. I just think back to when he was coming through the youth setup, and then emerging into the team. What a player he looked then.....and what the **** happened? He's scored no more than about 5 goals each season for the past 4 years, he's not as quick as he used to be either. He's been dining out on the fact he's a local boy for way too long.
  19. At least 5 players in this team should not be anywhere near the club next season. Special honourable mention to Nathan "Braindead" Baker, a player who should'nt be playing for a Premier League team. 4-1 loss at home to Stoke is an utter disgrace.
  20. Not ready to make that spot his own. I'd drop him for Lowton, and then look at filling this position in the summer.
  21. There's about 5 player's I'd be shot of - I don't think you can really blame Lambert for this result. Several players in our team are an absolute disgrace and shouldnt be anywhere near the team.
