  1. Play just half as well as today for the rest of the season and I'd be happy to firmly wind my neck in.
  2. He's damned if he does, he'd be the one that would get the fine for telling it how it is. Seeing as the BBC/Sky/gutter press have set the precedent from that action to basically defend diving, I can't see it going away any time soon.
  3. Lets hope he keeps up his form as he will be absolutely crucial to where we finish this season.
  4. Really think we should look at offloading this guy in the summer, he offers absolutely nothing. Reminds me of Mark Kinsella. Should be no more than a backup squad player at the very most.
  5. Boy oh boy, I bet the city council are glad they didn't build them that 55,000 seater stadium now....
  6. Best finisher I've seen was probably Dion, his aerial ability and scoring record spoke for itself.
  7. Twice the player than the other two numpties we have as left backs. Bertrand is just in another league to those two.
  8. Knew that cheating scumbag would influence this game somehow. However its a very good point, now on to the next games which are definitely winnable. Bertrand could turn out to be a very astute signing.
  9. Knew we'd be screwed over. Its just inevitable in this bent league.
  10. Well it was nice whilst it lasted. I hope we dont crumble now. With Holt on it looks like its hoof hoof hoof
  11. Best I've seen was probably Merson, he was just the complete attacking midfielder. Never ever passed sideways, was always looking for the run and could create something out of nothing. Scored a fair few goals too. I wish I'd have seen Sid Cowans in his prime; he was the complete footballer by the sounds of things.
  12. Would have been nice to go in with a two goal cushion, I can only see one result now as we tire. Still, can't fault the lads for the effort. We deserve something out of this game but the jammy scousers will probably get a few gifts from the ref at some point in the second half.
  13. I'm in two minds about this. He's far better than both Luna and Bennett, but much like Kyle Walker a few years ago he's not our player and we won't be signing him in the summer. If he helps us stop getting raped down the left side then fair enough. I reckon either Luna or Bennett are gonners in the summer, and rightly so. Both have been utter crap and completely out of their depth since they joined us; its interesting that Lambert saw this position as a priority.
  14. Delfouneso is on around £20k a week I believe. You have Houllier to thank for that, he handed him a new contract! Absolutely criminal waste of money, that boy will be playing non-league football within 5 years.
  15. It already is. Lambert hasnt played the legendary 6-4-0 formation yet but he's getting close. If Holt is a first choice starter for us for the rest of the season I can't see gates of more than 30,000, it will make everyone's eyes bleed.
  16. Maybe Lowton and Luna are supposed to be the wingers? The only problem is both are horrifically out of form and neither like to get out wide and stretch the play, they are both constantly backtracking and seldom cross the half way line.
  17. Am I actually strange to think this may just work out for us? He's a big unit who gets stuck in to defenders and winds them up, which is precisely what Benteke has failed to do for much of the season. At the other end his height and experience could help with defending any last-minute corners. Lets just hope he's not going to be used as a starter as the type of hoofball we'd play would be worse than McLeish.
  18. Is this the "meltdown" loan signing that HH was talking about then? Ha ha ha
  19. I don't actually think we need Holt. However Lambert's obviously feeling the pressure, so he's bringing in one of his old mates. Holt is a dirty, cheating word removed though, so he might win a few penalties.
  20. Oh lordy. Just what we need, another fat lump up front.
  21. Could this 2nd half be the like the "Newcastle" turning point game of last season?
  22. Oh well, on to the next game. At least they kept the score down and Benteke finally got his goal.
  23. Yea but you could have a look at the great state of the club accounts and rejoice. Those mosaics look very nice too......
