  1. Well things will be easier for him in the Championship Very true
  2. Delaney was the same when we first bought him, and i remember similar comments. We have to remember that he is still developing and will get better defensively. What would help, is playing in a more solid defensive unit than our current one. When he does, he wont be far off an England call
  3. You think he is good this season, then watch him next! Will be a much better player than Kuyt and one destined for big things further down the line. I rate him that highly.
  4. I think if you look and read between the lines of that stat, it will point to another possable reason. I mean, eveyone had forgotten about him when he was at Citeh. Coincidence?
  5. I think its been quite comical at times. Well its given me a few giggles!
  6. He was dead on his feet for the 5 minutes before he got subbed, we were losing the centre of midfield battle at the time so it was a fairly astute change IMO. If we had have put away one of the multiple chances after this sub there would have been no question and he might have been praised. Fair comment
  7. Has Lambert mentioned anything about why he subbed him, yet?
  8. To be succesfull, you have to able to comfortably switch from either extreme. Well, that was the case when literaly buying trophie's was not the vogue.
  9. How old was Peter Withe when Cloughy made him a player? Point is, people develop at different rates. You can never tell how they will turn out. It is at the end of the day what the manager/coaches sees at that present time. Moore bothers and Cahill are classic examples from Oniels era. Dont forget we had Lescott and Sturridge at the club when youngsters and released. You just never know, and it does just come down to chance.
  10. It is, and your right, it shows and we are afterall talking about promise. He needs time and experience which Lambert is doing. It does not help when your fighting relegation, but Jordan and a few others will have learnt a lot this term. We will have a better idea just how much they have next term.
  11. Thats exactly what i said to people on saturday. His movement is quite good, finds space with ease, and he has good touch and vision. OK, hes struggled in games, but im guessing some of his knockers will be pretty pleased with him next term.
  12. The thing is, its how we lose.... A hammering now, could efectively relegate us by destroying what confidence weve got. A narrow defeat, or a defeat where we have done quite well in the game can still build that confidence. So im glad im not the one making that decision!
  13. Stoke losing that, will be ok. We have Sunderland to come where there manager is going to get some right stick, Norwich away where we won earlier in the season, and a Wigan side with another distraction. Manure is a write off, then Chelsea whom are bad travellers to Villa Park and with euro ambitions? Its still in our own hands, and i think it will end up being between Sunderland/Wigan/Stoke. Im still confident.
  14. More than likely got that during the game.. No way would you send somebody out with a grion injury, since they are buggers to treat, and you simply cant run one off. Hopefully, its nout more serious than a itchy knob or crotch rot
  15. Watching Di Canio's antics yesterday, still has me convinced Sunderland will implode. The man is bound to upset some of his players at any moment. Its like waiting for a Nork missile test, you know its coming......its just when
  16. Cant see that. Lambert is not going to risk losing Benteke for the remainder of games, which he would be doing if hes playing him with an injury. And we have a fully fit Bent on the Bench! Simply put, our supply was pretty naff Saturday. A couple of near perfect balls that were cut out, but hardly anything into his feet when facing the goal. I think he missed Gabby.
  17. Not 100% sure on this, but i think its 60 plus bonus's - which i think was our cieling at that time. Makes you want to cry when you look about and see how ordinary people are being hit and struggling to cope.
  18. The Sun reckons we are interested in Crewes Luke Murphy.
  19. Compared to German U-Boat design, i agree
  20. 28. Should of sorted this in January. Sat high in the trinity yesterday and looking at the formation and system, we look a comfortable mid table team. But these silly defensive lapses are killing us. Im pretty sure we will be ok, but if not, then the reluctance to back the manager in remedying these lapses will turn out to be criminal. Mid table team? Seriously? I think apart from reading, QPR and stoke we are the worst side in the division. the strikers are good enough, and guzan is acceptable, but the rest of the team is poor. The whole league is poor in my opinion. I should of said "at the moment", since we are improving. But we have been dire in parts!
  21. Full house and full backing throughut needed against Sunderland. Keep behind them even if we go a goal down.

  23. How many points have we now surrendered from winning positions?
  24. Cant understand why we did not go one-on-one with Berbatov. And did zoggy have a knock, because if not, i cant fathom the decison to sub him.
