  1. Epic second half, perhaps of any Super Bowl, and I had no interest in eoither team's fortunes. Brutal pick that Warner threw to Harrison at the close of the 1st half. That really changed everything. Dont know why they threw on that play. But what a 4th quarter....Great, great game
  2. I tried to include an option for "Never were Married", as that's fairly common, too BOF : Classic case of not clicking 'Add option' on the final poll option. Happens all the time Fixed now.
  3. Just curious...here in The States, it seems like almost all my friends had broken homes, including me...what about you lot?
  4. For argument's sake, the man's business card identifies him as a banker, lol..... I could make a mill stretch out a lifetime, dunno about you :winkold: That said, my vote's not in yet
  5. If you found a briefcase with $1,000,000 in cash inside, along with the owner's business card, with his name and contact information, would you keep the cash, keep some of the cash and return the rest, or return all of it? Heheh....
  6. Can this be merged with the "What perfume do you wear?" thread?
  7. If a shot is blasted high over the crossbar (see Stylian Petrov), that is off target. If a shot slams against the goalpost, it is ON target, in fact, it's hit the target. And sometimes the ball will ricochet into the net....so yeah, on target for me. Plus, if you've ever hit the post yourself, it is a satisfying feeling, even though you havent scored
  8. If you can weakly tap a ball at the keeper, and have it be considered an on target shot, certainly a shot that beats the keeper but is denied by a few inches of goalpost should be considered on target as well.
  9. Sad to see 5th place is leading the poll...I voted 4th. If we are in 4th place before strengthening the team and having dealt with key injuries, I don't see any reason why we can't finish 4th. UTV!
  10. If the guy wasn't a class act thru and thru, than you might have an argument that he was a flop, cuz there were LONG periods when he was invisible and ineffective. And that nightmare hand ball/penalty miss game....oh my...... But he was an honest successor to the Dwight Yorke mantle, in that he had flair, great ability, scored goals ( though not enuff), and had name value. I love JPA, because he's a great person who loved Aston Villa. He was proud to play for us.
  11. The fact that you're asking us should tell you all you need to know..... Skip it, bro
  12. Of the top four, naturally I dislike Aston Villa the least. In fact, I love Villa!
  13. See stopping the game for that is fine IF the ball does cross the line, if the ball doesn't cross the line however what happens? Some of these ball / line decisions are replayed time and time again before people come to a correct decision, it can take an age What happens if the ball doesnt cross the line, its still in play but the ref will have stopped the game to get a decision, how does the game then restart? The obvious answer would be a drop ball as no one has done wrong. Where should the drop ball take place? In the centre circle? well thats not fair on the attacking team, they've lost ground. At the penalty spot of the correct box? Well thats not fair on the defending team, to have to potentially defend again something which apparently they'd already succesfully defended. Se the thing is once the technology and the ability to use it is in place, refs will rely on it more and more, even for cases which they were 95% sure anyway. Nah give me human error anyday. What we need is better refs Let's say that that Hull game determined whether or not Villa finished in fourth place, and they WERE awarded a penalty, which was converted, putting Villa out of the Champions League. Would you still be steadfastly against it?
  14. Gotta go with the Boston girl, Donna. Hotttttttttttttttttt
  15. I served Dan Ackroyd a sparkling water...I was in a independant film called "Next Stop Wonderland", but they edited me out of it ....Paul Mariner offered me free New England Revolution tickets,,,wooooot
  16. Just watched the game, had it recorded. First half, a bottle of Stella with reheated cheese tortellini. Second half, another Stella, then when we went down 2-0, a glass of Gran Marnier. Another Stella at full time,
  17. Barry maneuvered his way out of the captaincy. I think Petrov should get the armband. He is kind of like an elder out there, he has the respect of the team, and it might even help boost his own confidence. Worth a shot.
