It's not the group in the link. Crosby got hold of an album by Phillp Koutev, simply called 'Music Of Bulgaria'. It was recorded in the late 50s but appeared licensed in the US around the mid 60s. IIRC he played it to quite a few leading lights at the time (Joni & the gang).

Don't own any Beatles. Never really felt the need. I do have dozens, perhaps hundreds, of covers of their songs. From everywhere too, think all the continents are covered bar Antarctica. Full symphony orchestras and blokes with hairy drums in the Himalayas have their own takes. That sort of global cultural penetration and acceptance, pre-internet, is pretty far out.
