  1. With respect, opposition fans frequently speak to Villa Park being a favourite. and opposition players…
  2. Is that a thing where a team doesn’t get injuries during a game? Not seen that before, do the team know. How unlucky have we been this season with key injuries at key points of the season.
  3. Because in some inventive way the Saudi owners will put some of the Saudi companies under the Newcastle company thus massive profits and be able to buy whoever they wanted. They only need to put one cash cow company under Newcastle’s corporate structure and then they will have got around all the PSR.
  4. That’s how the Villa becomes too expensive, by letting the Mrs go shopping while your at the game
  5. I agree and even though I will watch every game, the football bores the hell out of me and I don’t expect much each game. I didn’t even get excited when Bellingham scored the last second to get a draw, I just watched the restart and then turned off the tv when the ref blew the final whistle. Delighted Ollie helped get the draw in aiding the goal but knew he wouldn’t get the credit he deserved for it.

It’s weird the spin, i still don’t believe the polls just as I didn’t last month. Long way to go, still a lot to happen but polling doesn’t seem reflective of actual voting. It is though funny how the spin is happening and how Biden is flipping the spin in swing states but now apparently it doesn’t mean anything at this stage.
  7. I wonder how it’ll affect him if he doesn’t get picked. Obviously the rest over the summer should be beneficial for us next season but mentally how will Ollie feel after such a great season. Will it knock him back, knock his confidence or will he be determined to do even better. I’m hoping the latter! Just hope Southgate is not in his ear saying he needs to be at a bigger club to get more game time for England.
  8. To be fair to that argument, if we had Toney, would we swap him for Watkins, the answer from most would be ‘No’. The fact is there is not much choice between them they just have different strengths. Ollie deserves the spot after the season he’s had whereas Toney has been out because of his own fault. Unfortunately life doesn’t work that way and now it’s down to one man that has the tactical ability equivalent of Gerrard.

I wonder what would be the thing that Trump could do that would turn a large portion of the MAGA fan base off….I’m not sure much Change back to be a Democrat - probably would turn them off Move countries - probably but… Change faith - would turn them off Agree deals with Putin - wouldn’t change MAGA base Use nuclear weapons - unknown but some would probably justify it ….
  10. We’ve said the same every decade since I can remember.
  11. Manchester isn’t the second city….now or previously! I lived in Australia for a long time and Birmingham was known there for example.
  12. That will never happen, the London bias will never let it happen. It’s happened for decades, the new Wembley was a classic example that even though the public poll wanted the new stadium in the middle of the country, the powers that be decided London.
  13. Unfortunately I’m not sure Southgate wants something different, he just wants a back up like for like in case Kane gets injured otherwise Kane will play 95% of the minutes. Ollie should be going but I think Southgate might favour Toney because of his style and will predominantly be on the bench, hope I’m wrong.
  14. I’m not talking about FFP but in reality who pays for it, either NSWE fully fund it, which as generous as they are, that’s next level cost, or we(AVFC) get charged for it however it is charged. There are only two parties that can pay for it.
  15. You said That is fantasy New stadium is currently fantasy as the club have said they aren’t looking to move from Villa Park. Some redevelopment to add more seats is what they have said. If they have put North Stand redevelopment on hold, what makes you think a whole redevelopment of Witton is going to happen including house purchases? It doesn’t add up does it!!! It’s just going to be reconfiguration and maybe some small build in the corners somehow by all indications. So yes, new stadia or major redevelopment is pure fantasy because the club have said so because they said we aren’t moving from Villa Park and the North Stand major redevelopment has been put on hold.
  16. The club aren’t going to buy up the houses, redevelop the stand just so the fans have a bit more room and a bit more facilities. Seriously this is fantasy stuff.
  17. And we already host at Villa Park such gigs like Pink, Springsteen and Foo Fighters so not new revenue.
  18. So many holes in that statement but if there really was a need or the business case stacked up then the club wouldn’t say “we have no plans to move”. The business case doesn’t stack up imo.
  19. Why do we need to buy houses? We can get most of it from North Stand proposal (currently on hold) plus some other adjustments like a couple of the corners filled in (which Heck is apparently looking at at the moment). No need to buy some of the housing around the ground.
  20. and massive debt and interest payments for a very long time.
  21. What is the business case for a mega stadium? If we had just over 50k that would be more than enough for the near future. The North Stand development, which unfortunately been paused would’ve been enough at 52k. I just don’t believe the 30k waiting list are people that are really going to buy season tickets now.
  22. No, but I still don’t see the business case that stacks up to justify it. I’d much prefer a 50k Villa Park without all the debt and interest payments hosting Real Madrid in the champions league. I’d also want regular season on season champions league run before saddling us with that debt because if NSWE do leave for whatever reason and we don’t have that regular big income we could be in a world of pain. I don’t want to be negative but a new stadium is a huge investment taking a long return period and we’ve only just posted £120m loss for the last period. I think we need to be more self sufficient before we entertain something like especially if we can up the ground more in the mean time as Heck suggested along with better commercial revenue from other areas like sponsorships.

Poor guy! Can’t even say the right things now…
  24. West Ham stadium….don’t know, may have something to do with why it was originally built or something….no idea. I’m sure somebody with more insight might know but why didn’t Everton follow the same thing or anybody who built a new stadium, there must be some nuance about West Ham. 3rd party, yeah you’re right. I’m sure there is something in PSR about reflecting reality rather just accounting treatment ie like they do with overinflated sponsorship deals. If it doesn’t look genuine, then it’s gets fair valued/adjusted. Dont know mate!
