  1. Unfortunately I’m not sure Southgate wants something different, he just wants a back up like for like in case Kane gets injured otherwise Kane will play 95% of the minutes. Ollie should be going but I think Southgate might favour Toney because of his style and will predominantly be on the bench, hope I’m wrong.
  2. I’m not talking about FFP but in reality who pays for it, either NSWE fully fund it, which as generous as they are, that’s next level cost, or we(AVFC) get charged for it however it is charged. There are only two parties that can pay for it.
  3. You said That is fantasy New stadium is currently fantasy as the club have said they aren’t looking to move from Villa Park. Some redevelopment to add more seats is what they have said. If they have put North Stand redevelopment on hold, what makes you think a whole redevelopment of Witton is going to happen including house purchases? It doesn’t add up does it!!! It’s just going to be reconfiguration and maybe some small build in the corners somehow by all indications. So yes, new stadia or major redevelopment is pure fantasy because the club have said so because they said we aren’t moving from Villa Park and the North Stand major redevelopment has been put on hold.
  4. The club aren’t going to buy up the houses, redevelop the stand just so the fans have a bit more room and a bit more facilities. Seriously this is fantasy stuff.
  5. And we already host at Villa Park such gigs like Pink, Springsteen and Foo Fighters so not new revenue.
  6. So many holes in that statement but if there really was a need or the business case stacked up then the club wouldn’t say “we have no plans to move”. The business case doesn’t stack up imo.
  7. Why do we need to buy houses? We can get most of it from North Stand proposal (currently on hold) plus some other adjustments like a couple of the corners filled in (which Heck is apparently looking at at the moment). No need to buy some of the housing around the ground.
  8. and massive debt and interest payments for a very long time.
  9. What is the business case for a mega stadium? If we had just over 50k that would be more than enough for the near future. The North Stand development, which unfortunately been paused would’ve been enough at 52k. I just don’t believe the 30k waiting list are people that are really going to buy season tickets now.
  10. No, but I still don’t see the business case that stacks up to justify it. I’d much prefer a 50k Villa Park without all the debt and interest payments hosting Real Madrid in the champions league. I’d also want regular season on season champions league run before saddling us with that debt because if NSWE do leave for whatever reason and we don’t have that regular big income we could be in a world of pain. I don’t want to be negative but a new stadium is a huge investment taking a long return period and we’ve only just posted £120m loss for the last period. I think we need to be more self sufficient before we entertain something like especially if we can up the ground more in the mean time as Heck suggested along with better commercial revenue from other areas like sponsorships.

    U.S. Politics

Poor guy! Can’t even say the right things now…
  12. West Ham stadium….don’t know, may have something to do with why it was originally built or something….no idea. I’m sure somebody with more insight might know but why didn’t Everton follow the same thing or anybody who built a new stadium, there must be some nuance about West Ham. 3rd party, yeah you’re right. I’m sure there is something in PSR about reflecting reality rather just accounting treatment ie like they do with overinflated sponsorship deals. If it doesn’t look genuine, then it’s gets fair valued/adjusted. Dont know mate!
  13. No! I love MGW but they are different positions. I think we may end up selling somebody like Ramsey if Emery has a list of players he wants but it all depends what Emery wants in the summer. Hopefully we can sell enough of the fringe players to cover whatever finances are needed.
  14. First half in one stadium, Second half in the other stadium. Same price for second stadium season tickets thus requiring two season tickets thus double revenue. Season Ticket holders will have first option on buying a season ticket for each stadium (no discount) so will have to pay for two season tickets. Club advise against this as fans will have only 15 minutes between each half. Players will be transported via helicopters to the second ground. This opens up season tickets for new fans, with many many additional corporate packages available. For those staying in the first ground to watch the second half will be allowed to watch on big screens for an additional significant fee otherwise they need to depart before second half starts. Fans in the second stadium can watch the first half for an additional significant fee. Villa will be releasing a fourth kit called ‘2nd stadium kit’ to generate more revenue which will still be claret and blue but different design.
  15. They actually said they will be adding 3k to the current ground by reconfiguring (whatever that means) and adding the disabled seats they are under.
  16. I bet it does, otherwise teams like Newcastle would just set up a separate company and buy the best players and then lease them to Newcastle to get around PSR. I haven’t read the PSR rules but I bet there are related party rules otherwise PSR has no power, all the expensive costs they’d source to another company.
  17. Who cares what Villa is worth, that only makes a difference if we are sold by NSWE, we the club get no or little benefit from that. The thing that affects us in that situation is who buys us. Anyway hopefully NSWE go nowhere for a long time, so how much the Villa is worth is of no consequence, all that matters is revenue and cost from a financial point of view. As for the interest payments it will depend know long they are paid over and if we just pay the interest off or pay down the capital payments quickly. I doubt very much if that cost is included in peoples estimation of the build of the new ground if they are talking £500m-700m cost.
  18. Interest payments would be huge on that so that would need to be included.
  19. I still don’t get why we need this new stadium? Financially massively expensive and unlikely to get a complete return within the next 10-15 years. We already have the likes of Pink, Springsteen and Foo Fighters playing at Villa Park. I’m still not convinced we are a regular 60k fan base that needs a new stadium. We don’t need to get into that massive debt and interest payments to fund the stadium. We need to improve revenues and there are plenty of other ways first and maybe in the future when we can look at the new stadium idea when it makes more sense. We need to make this club more self sustainable at this level first. Yes, facilities aren’t brilliant and transportation isn’t brilliant but it’s not that bad, plus this new stadium will likely just mean season ticket prices will sky rocket further. There are plenty small fixes that can be done until the business case makes sense, we are nowhere near that for a new stadium.
  20. Depends if they think our waiting list is real…that we can regularly get more than 50k (post bits and pieces they are going to do now)…that the investment of anywhere from £500m-£1bn would see the return in a new stadium and surrounding entertainment. It may be not be financially worthwhile…
  21. Isn’t it the additional interest payments on the stadium that is getting Everton into trouble with PSR and thus getting points deduction which could see them ultimately relegated at the end of the season. So in the current climate it’s not ‘Evolve or die’ but ‘Evolve and die’.
  22. My nephew is 14 years old, season ticket holder and is more passionate about Villa Park than probably me. He loves that it’s so different to other grounds, he loves the steps walking up to the Upper Holte. It’s not about the whole fan base, it’s about those going to the ground. Those that don’t go to the ground of course may not mind what stadium we play in. Obviously there will be non-attending fans that will want to stay. Plus, younger fans, I’m 47 years old and hopefully I’ve still got 30 years of attending the Villa. Also falling in love with the Villa is also about the history, telling my nephews about past games…my nephew asked me about my favourite games down Villa Park at the last game and I pulled up a YouTube video about the Tranmere game and then talked about the Inter Milan game….it bonds him more with the ground as well. He loves the European Cup players pics on the side of the Holte End outside…. I think young fans maybe split just as much as older fans
