  1. and I assume the Man City rearranged game will be midweek before or after that….that’s a hard schedule.
  2. Torres - Emery was resting Watkins - Emery said after the game he was checking his fitness for the weekend on Thursday which suggests he’s close even if he misses Brentford. Midfield - they haven’t done too badly since Kamara was ruled out. Obviously better with him in but not been as bad as many expected plus we have JJ back shortly.
  3. Martinez back Moreno, Digne, Torres, Carlos, Lenglet, Konsa Luiz, Tielemans, McGinn, Tim, Rogers Bailey, Diaby, Watkins (possibility), Zaniolo, Duran Looks ok to me
  4. Eh? We have 10 points in the last 6 games, same as Spurs. Our two defeats in that time are to the treble winning champions City away and Spurs, it’s not actually bad is it. Spurs was only the really bad result in that six games.

  6. Doesn’t seem to be, and he said Emi will be back for the weekend. Ollie is having a test today on his injury to see if he can play on the weekend. He didn’t mentioned any bug going around the camp in the notes I saw.
  7. I think Unai basically indicated it wasn’t other issues in his post match comments.

    Unai Emery

No we haven’t given City’s unbelievable home record. What Emery has done, whether win, lose or draw this weekend is given our players a better chance of winning because they will be fresher. It’s fairly obvious and understandable I think. Have you never not done something to save yourself for something more important shortly afterwards. Fans on this website have been saying how fatigued our players have looked the last few months and in a game where we have a small chance of getting a result because of City’s record at home, our injuries, suspensions and our upcoming fixture schedule and more important games then it was wise to rest a few other key players plus give minutes to some fringe players who will also be needed in the upcoming weeks. This is the main point!
  9. Did any Villa fan have us winning or drawing at City in their predicted final league tables and that got us fourth. I think everybody had this down as one of our losses. This was always just a possible bonus night but as it happens we didn’t get a bonus
  10. Exactly what I’ve been saying in the match threads, I don’t get why some don’t see this.
  11. Fair play, he was alright tonight. Not a fan of his but praise is due tonight.
  12. Meh I’m ok with that. Not happy with any loss but it’s no surprise and now we have a fresh first XI for the weekend. Game on!
  13. Yes us fans take game by game but that’s why we hire Emery to think over all the games and do what’s best. So I don’t agree with you.
  14. What? If this rest gets us CL place and wins the ECL then strategically it’s big club mentality. Looking at the long term picture than small club mentality of winning one game against a big team and celebrating. Instead, taking a hit in one game for the benefit of many games….can’t think of anything more big club mentality than that.
  15. Surprised, I think he’s unbelievable player and easily in the world class category and will only get better. Can’t argue about others in the team maybe being better but this City team have loads of World Class players hence why they are the best club team in the world. KDB, Haaland, Rodri to start with are arguably in the top three of their individual positions in the world for club football.
  16. Foden is world class, I don’t know how Southgate makes him look so shit for England.
  17. Most teams haven’t had as good performance as our reserves tonight against City at home. They have a fabulous home record.
  18. Haha, is bizarre I meant! Rodri vs Diaby is not a fair fight
  19. Mate, read that and you’ll understand why that’s not bizarre to say
