  1. We are literally the equivalent of 4 wins ahead of them and they have only seven games left
  2. They’re 11 points behind us with only 21 points left available to them and a poor GD. Essentially they need to get 12 more points than us in 7 games as we will get in 6 games
  3. It’s also the reason we are fourth and not title challengers because just like Man Utd threw a winning lead away against Chelsea and Spurs conceding late goal to Everton, we can do that.
  4. I’m highly disappointed with the 9 minutes of insanity yesterday but I’m generally quite calm about it. IMO we’ll comfortably get fourth or fifth, England will get the extra CL spot and so we’ll have CL next year. Yeah there is a small probability we don’t get CL but the overwhelming percentage is that we will. People may disagree agree with me but at this stage I’m not worried. Hopefully my feelings on the matter will be the same in a few weeks time. Just feels like people are trying to conjure up heartache for themselves as they have done since the turn of the new year. Yes we haven’t played as well as the first half the season but neither has Spurs or Man Utd or the teams below them and nothing is indicating anything will change plus we have a massive points cushion.
  5. Our Man Utd game away but I agree with your point generally
  6. But it is delusional…mathematically we can still win the league but it’s probably 0.01% or less. Thinking that or putting argument or comment around it is delusional as is Man Utd.
  7. They are conceding over 20 chances per game, have the highest shots against since the new year. They now have most of their defence out. Their target is more to keep hold of sixth place because Newcastle and West Ham are very close to them. They are more likely to be eighth than a close sixth behind us.
  8. We can also still win the league then! Mathematically it’s possible but it’s also very very unlikely as well.
  9. Man Utd literally have to win 4 of their 8 games to get to the same points total we have now (60 points) and they’d still be below us on goal difference. They start the first of those games against Liverpool tomo…most of their defenders are out injured and they have only won two of their last six league games. Man Utd may not even get 60 points this season and that’s before us talking about any points we get additionally in our last six games which certainly won’t be zero. We won’t be dropping to 6th.
  10. I think it’s because you’re expecting us to be City or Liverpool at the moment mate. We aren’t at that level and neither are Spurs hence why we never quite get there this season. With the extra bits you keep saying and we’d be up there with the three teams. We’ve done exceptionally well to be where we are. The next step is competing with those teams if we ever can but that’s going to take more of something whatever that is. Three points is all that matters tomorrow and any great performance would be a bonus. Spurs can have their great performance but lose or pick up draws for all I care.
  11. Can’t agree that Spurs are playing better than us. Yes they are better on the eye but underneath that they have been worse than us. They are what I call a ‘highlights clip team’ where if you only see the highlights you go “wow” but you look under the bonnet over 90 minutes and there are some serious flaws and they certainly have no Plan B if Plan A isn’t working. Why people thinking we are a lot worse is our stinker of a game against them, which it was but doesn’t negate the rest of it. xG is the worse stat in recent times to raise its head, as somebody said if Duran had headed Konsa’s cross instead of it going straight in the xG on that would’ve been huge compared to xG Konsa actually got and Wolves xG is primarily for Ait-Nouri’s chance. That all doesn’t mean Wolves were better than us, I thought it was fairly comfortable for us overall.
  12. Yes, agree. Obviously puts us in a position where clubs can potentially low-ball offers and see if we cave. That being said though, the way he words that bit about Ramsey's fee ('it would be around fifty million') made me wonder a bit if there has been some concrete discussion with interested parties. Maybe not, but found it interesting that he chose to venture a guess around a specific number. I don’t think we are in that position where we have to sell by the 30th June to be compliant. We wouldn’t have brought Rogers in January if it meant a few months later we’d be in the position detailed above.
  13. and I assume the Man City rearranged game will be midweek before or after that….that’s a hard schedule.
  14. Torres - Emery was resting Watkins - Emery said after the game he was checking his fitness for the weekend on Thursday which suggests he’s close even if he misses Brentford. Midfield - they haven’t done too badly since Kamara was ruled out. Obviously better with him in but not been as bad as many expected plus we have JJ back shortly.
  15. Martinez back Moreno, Digne, Torres, Carlos, Lenglet, Konsa Luiz, Tielemans, McGinn, Tim, Rogers Bailey, Diaby, Watkins (possibility), Zaniolo, Duran Looks ok to me
  16. Eh? We have 10 points in the last 6 games, same as Spurs. Our two defeats in that time are to the treble winning champions City away and Spurs, it’s not actually bad is it. Spurs was only the really bad result in that six games.

  18. Doesn’t seem to be, and he said Emi will be back for the weekend. Ollie is having a test today on his injury to see if he can play on the weekend. He didn’t mentioned any bug going around the camp in the notes I saw.
  19. I think Unai basically indicated it wasn’t other issues in his post match comments.

    Unai Emery

No we haven’t given City’s unbelievable home record. What Emery has done, whether win, lose or draw this weekend is given our players a better chance of winning because they will be fresher. It’s fairly obvious and understandable I think. Have you never not done something to save yourself for something more important shortly afterwards. Fans on this website have been saying how fatigued our players have looked the last few months and in a game where we have a small chance of getting a result because of City’s record at home, our injuries, suspensions and our upcoming fixture schedule and more important games then it was wise to rest a few other key players plus give minutes to some fringe players who will also be needed in the upcoming weeks. This is the main point!
  21. Did any Villa fan have us winning or drawing at City in their predicted final league tables and that got us fourth. I think everybody had this down as one of our losses. This was always just a possible bonus night but as it happens we didn’t get a bonus
  22. Exactly what I’ve been saying in the match threads, I don’t get why some don’t see this.
