Aren't Holtby and Praet very similar players? That would mean we would have 3 quality AMF at the club compared to using Tonev there last season ha.

Pretty average stats for a player you seem to rate so highly. Not everything can be backed up with stats. A number might give an insight but it doesn't show you how his work, his passing, his general play adds to the team in an attacking sense. He is the first period of play, and an important one at that. Stuff the numbers, my eyes tell me all I need to know. Agreed. He adds too few assists and too few goals. He has been playing DMF for the past 2 seasons and you're harping on about goals and assists. Despite playing DMF he still scored 3 quality goals and has a great record of creating chances. His passing range is excellent and not just confined to keeping it simple. Maybe when he is able to play in CMF you and others might take note.

He started 8 and came on as a sub in 6 so technically he has 4 in 14 but if you take his total minutes (782) and divide that by 90, it works out at 4 goals in 8.6 games.

He isn't the all round modern day striker like Benteke is but of what I've seen from him he has great strengths to his game. He got in great positions last season and scored really important goals, I reckon he would of easily got over 10 goals last season despite coming off the bench a lot. He has something that the likes of Gabby and Weimann don't....a brain!! Some of his flicks and hold up play were class last year. Hurry back big Libor

Any links to the stories of him leaving? Always liked him and he did well last season and I'd be happy if he stayed. I remember wheh he signed he was described as deep sitting midfielder but for us he almost always played as our most attacking midfielder so he did well to adapt his game. Good luck KEA.

Well he barely had a half a season to aim at both of them due to them being injured so one might say that his chances created was even more impressive when you consider what he was left having to aim passes at..

If you actually paid attention during the past 2 seasons you would have some idea as to how good Westwoods passing is! Why are you comparing him to Merson? Haha... All of them plus a loan fee. Shocking that we didn't use Bents wages to loan in some quality last season. Lerner has really squeezed everything possible out of the club, I'm kinda shocked that he didn't sell Benteke.

I'd keep the midfield and backline the same except Cissokho who is injured and I'd give Shay a game. Up front is where I'd like to see us make changes. I'd play a diamond with Gabby and Bent up top or play Grealish instead of Gabby and give him a free role behind Bent. I have a feeling that Lambert might try 3 at the back for this game.

Well he walked off so that's a good sign. We only have the Hull game in the league and then there is an International break so I'd say he will only miss one game at the most.

I think my comment had feck all to do with him being Irish. As long as you'd be happy with him behaving as he does associated with Man U, Sunderland, Ipswich or wherever then it's fine (of a sort). I was happy when he brought on The Rock for Zog because Newcastle were in total control in the first 15 mins of the 2nd half and it looked like they were gonna score. When Rock came on they lost their grip on the game and we kept them out fairly easy except for the De Jong chance. It must be great for Lambert having quality players on the bench and once we have Beasteke and Kozak back we will have a great chance of winning games like today. I hope he makes 1 more quality attacking signing as that will see us with a really strong squad in all positions.

The state of him when he handled the ball and then had a little hissy fit, my 4 year old wouldn't even do that. His touch is the worst I've seen from a Villa player ever, I honestly can't think of a player with a worse touch. Terrible player, his future should be impact sub and hopefully when we have a fully fit squad he will be.

The midfield is fine, it's what is playing up ahead of them is the problem. Weimann is poison and gives away possession nearly every time the ball goes near him, Gabby is extremely hit and miss and does the odd good thing and Zog is similar. It's hard for a midfield to look good in an attacking sense when our forwards can't keep the ball!
